Nokia has finally announced their first two phones, the 710 and 800, running Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 OS. The 710 is set to hit Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore, and Taiwan later this year. They plan to launch their first batch of WP7 handsets in early 2012 so don't expect these anytime soon. The 710 features a 3.7-inch display, a 1.4GHz CPU, a 5MP camera, 8GB of storage, WiFi / Bluetooth 2.1 support, HSDPA connectivity, aGPS, and a 1,300mAh battery. This will be launching for €270 ($375 USD).

The Nokia 800 is the higher-end one of the two. This one features a 3.7-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display, a 1.4GHz CPU, 16GB of storage, an 8MP camera, quad-band GSM connectivity, a 12.1mm thin body, and a 1,450mAh battery. This will be priced at €420 ($580 USD) and you can actually pre-order it right now in the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.

The real MacBook Air competitors are coming and Acer has just unveiled their first ultrabook. This is the Aspire S3 which will be hitting North America later this week starting at $899. This ultrabook is said to feature a 13.3-inch display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Core i5 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and a 20GB SSD with a 320GB HDD so that it'll boot as quickly as possible. Like I said, this will be available later this week and more models are on the way (Core i3 and i7).

Yes, Samsung and Google's event has been postponed a bit but something great has just been spotted at the FCC. It's the Samsung GT-I9250 which is supposed to be the Nexus Prime. This model sports a GSM radio which would be capable of running on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US along with major carriers in Canada. Unsurprisingly, it also sports WiFi dual-band 802.11n, Bluetooth, and NFC support. Sadly, this model isn't packing LTE but I could live without it as long as it hits Fido up here in the North. After months of waiting, the white iPhone 4 is finally here. In 28 countries, Apple has released what it should've a while ago. The price is still the same and for reviews for the device you can just look back to the review for the black one. The only difference is the colour, which is quite sexy.

The countries that will be getting them are: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, the UK and the US.

It looks like the Nokia X2-01 has a shot of hitting North America according to some Bluetooth SIG and FCC filings. The first one is the RM-709 (here) and the second one is the RM-717 (here) which could be the North American model. This should be a cheap one since the FCC filing (here) has quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity but does not have support for 3G. Specs for this handset include a 2.4-inch display, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1 (no WiFi) support, a VGA camera, an FM radio with RDS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Samsung has finally released their 14.1-inch QX410 through Best Buy in North America. This notebook is definitely worth the price if you can put up with the 1,366 x 768 resolution (I honestly can't stand anything lower than 1,600 x 900 anymore). Specs include an Intel Core i5 2.53GHz CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 640GB HDD, a dual-layer DVD burner, an SDXC card slot, Nvidia GeForce 310M GPU, Optimus technology, WiFi b/g/n support, three USB 2.0 ports, a 7-hour battery life, and an integrated webcam. If you're willing to wait a little bit, there'll be a 4G-capable WiMAX model hitting Sprint USA. Check it out on Best Buy USA for $829 and even Best Buy Canada for $899.

Yesterday, Palm came clean and announced the WebOS 2.0 based Pre 2 and we know that it's headed to France this Friday and to North America in the near future. In the US, it'll be hitting Verizon so it'll have CDMA connectivity. Yes, that has been spotted at the FCC. The other model is the GSM variant which is likely headed to Canada (presumably to Bell, but it's unconfirmed). Yes, that has also been spotted. Check out the two FCC filings here and here. Look out for the launch in the next couple of weeks.

All the rumours can stop right now. Nintendo has just announced that their upcoming gaming handheld, the 3DS, will be available in Japan on February 26th, 2011 for ¥25,000 (around $300). In the next month, March 2011, the 3DS will also be available in Europe and the US (maybe Canada as well, I guess). At launch, the Nintendo 3DS will be available in two colours and that's cosmo black and aqua blue which is pictured. The company has announced that your Mii will be created using the 3DS' front-facing camera which is pretty neat. In the box, you'll be getting a 2GB SD card which isn't too bad.

There's another piece of great news. On the 3DS there'll be a virtual console store where you'll be able to download classic Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games and play them straight from your 3DS, which is pretty awesome!

Today, HTC has announced two Android smartphones set for a release in Europe / Asia - and maybe even Canada if we're lucky enough. The first one is the T-Mobile G2 variant for people who don't live in the US, the Desire Z. The HTC Desire Z packs the exact same spec sheet as the G2, so you'll find the new Qualcomm 800MHz CPU, HSPA+ connectivity, and Android 2.2. The difference between the G2 and the Desire Z is that this smartphone clearly sports the Sense UI while the G2 does not. This will be available in Europe / Asia sometime in October and will also be hitting North America (Canada?) sometime later in 2010.

The other smartphone that the company has announced is the Desire HD which also comes with Android 2.2 along with the Sense UI. Specs include a 4.3-inch LCD display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, HSPA+ connectivity, WiFi 802.11n support, and Dolby Mobile. This is basically the EVO for Europe / Asia and maybe even Canada if we're lucky. It'll be hitting Europe / Asia sometime in October as well.

Sony has announced two new PS3 models that they'll be releasing in Europe and North America (soon to be worldwide). The base model will sport a 160GB HDD and will cost €299 in Europe and $300 in North
America. This will be the new smallest model (capacity-wise) - up from 120GB; this is actually shipping right now so you can go and pick it up whenever you're ready.

Sony went on to announce a new 320GB bundle which comes with Sports Champion (the game), a PlayStation Move controller, a PlayStation Eye, and a demo disc. It'll cost €349 in Europe and $400 in North America; this will be available on September 15th in Europe and September 19th in North America.

It looks like something quite desirable has just hit the FCC (filing here) and it's the HTC Desire. It's got the model number PB99220 along with North American 3G. We already know that Canada will likely get this smartphone, thanks to Telus, and now we're just going to have to wait until it gets official.

I was looking forward to Sony's E3 press conference but I think it may have been the most boring one out of the big three (Microsoft and Nintendo). Anyways, Sony announced that their PlayStation Move will be available in Europe on September 15th, North America September 19th, and in Japan on October 21st. There'll be a $99.99 bundle with Sports Champions and a $399.99 bundle with a 250GB PS3 and Sports Champions if that's what you want. Of course, you'll also be able to get the main controller separately, that'll cost you $49.99, while the Navigation Controller aka the nunchuck will cost you another $29.99.

GCF has just approved of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini Pro for Europe and North America. There's really not much to tell you here, but any carrier in either region could get it right now. For North America we have AT&T in the US and Rogers, Bell, and Telus in Canada.

Apparently, T-Mobile is working on some secret project, dubbed Project Emerald. This is a plan to bring the HTC Desire to the USA, which is sounding like great news - even though they do already have the Nexus One. If this is true then it could be hitting Canada as well, seeing how their carrier, Telus, will be getting the HTC Triumph which is said to be a variant of the Desire.

We already know that the Samsung (S8500) Wave will be hitting Europe in the near future, but what about us in North America. The good news is that the handset could be hitting our region in the future as well, seeing how the Bluetooth SIG has just approved the GT-S8500R and the GT-S8500M which mentions that it'll get launched in North America. Now we play the waiting game.

Apparently, the photo you see above has just been spotted in a Best Buy somewhere in Canada. As you can see in the picture it says that you shouldn't sell this before May 9th. So much for May 23rd, Canadians are likely getting the black Nintendo Wii on May 9th which is the same date as the US release.

At this point we already know everything there is to know about the INQ Chat 3G. For those of you folks who are waiting for it, there is good news. This handset has just hit the FCC and it's, of course, got 3G bands perfect for AT&T, Rogers, Bell, and Telus in North America. Engadget suggests that maybe AT&T will launch it to battle back against Verizon's Kin One and Kin Two handset, so y'never know what's in store for the future. Check out the FCC filing here.

It looks like the date is set and it'll touch down in North America right before Q1 ends. On March 28th, the US will be getting it for $189.99 - $20 more than the original DSi - and Canada will be getting it as well. Of course, as usual the price for the Canadian version wasn't mentioned. I'm going to assume that it'll be available for $199.99 in Canada since that's $20 more than the $179.99 price tag on the original DSi right now.

You must be kidding me. Rogers has managed to scoop up the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and they're planning on launching it exclusively in North America in Q2 of this year. I think that is just amazing. This is the second Android handset that they've managed to exclusively launch (first was the LG Eve) and I think they've made the right choice with this one. This is definitely one of the best phones that have been announced to date, I hope they decide to launch it for $199 on a 3-year contract.
