HTC Dream and Magic at Rogers, I Got To Hold It!

Labels: , , ,

Rogers got the HTC Magic and HTC Dream a couple of days ago and - for the first time in my life - I was able to touch both of them. While job hunting earlier today, I decided to stop at the Rogers store to check it out. If you're American you may already know what I'm talking about, but I held the HTC Dream today and it felt less plasticky than I originally thought it would feel like. I could say the same about the HTC Magic as well. The HTC Dream seems pretty easy to type on, after some getting used to - because of the "chin."

I was really excited to touch the phone, since I love HTC and Android so much - and Google. I didn't get to test out the actual phone, but I loved the way it felt in my hand. Compact and slim enough for a pocket and the "chin" actually didn't stick out as much as I thought it would. Basically, I was impressed. I would get either phone, but I don't have enough money for them at the moment.

HTC's June 24th Event Could Have HTC Hero and Surprise QWERTY Model

Labels: , , , , ,

According to the latest rumours the HTC Hero will indeed be present at the HTC press event on June 24. But, the rumours also tell us that HTC will also unveil a second Android handset, and it could be the HTC Hero with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard - or the HTC Lancaster. According to the source, it will be dubbed the HTC Memphis. If these rumours are true, we could see the Memphis sport a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, similar to the T-Mobile G1. The Hero / Memphis will be utilizing HTC's TouchFLO 3D UI and, of course, run the Android OS.

On a side note, the HTC Lancaster will be a 6-month AT&T exclusive after it launches in Q3 of this year.

This will go on sale for $599 - $799 USD. The ET2203T, on the other hand, steps it up with: a 21.5-inch display with an HD-capable 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 CPU, 4GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD4570 graphics, an HDMI input, a 320GB HDD, 802.11n WiFi, and tops it all off with a Blu-ray drive. Asus also continued to expand their Eee PC 1005HA line-up with their latest 1005HGo. Like the 1101HGo (that we heard about yesterday), the 1005HGo will have built-in 3G, along with the same 10.1-inch LED-backlit display, 1GB of RAM, and Atom N270 / N280 CPU that the 1005HA has.

First Supposed Samsung M8920 Pictures Emerge, Sports 12MP Camera and 3x Optical Zoom

Labels: ,

Just two days after we heard about the Samsung Pixon12, another 12 megapixel cameraphone from Samsung has emerged. Meet the Samsung M8920, and according to the tipster, this is a picture of that device. As you can see this cameraphone has both LED and xenon flashes and it even sports 3x optical zoom. The M8920 also has GPS, WiFi, and could be announced in London / Dubai / Singapore next week - if we're lucky enough. We'll see what happens in the future, but I think this could be another full touchscreen phone from Samsung. It looks too big to not be one.
