BlackBerry Pearl (Striker) 9100 To Be First BB With WiFi 802.11n?

Labels: , ,

The next iteration of the BlackBerry Pearl will be what you see above the BlackBerry "Striker" 9100. The most interesting part about this smartphone is that it could actually be RIM's first handset with WiFi 802.11n support, which is pretty good. Let's hope every other BB from now on gets the same respect.

Acer (A1) Liquid Now Available In Black, If You Want

Labels: , , , , , ,

It's not exactly major news but if you've been waiting for the black Acer (A1) Liquid then you can get it now. It's available for around £330 ($537 USD) on a couple of UK e-tailers (Clove and Handtec) at this very moment. This Android handset is actually pretty cheap considering the specs, but the Nexus One is actually a tad cheaper and could be the better option.

Next Version of Android Is Not Flan, It's Froyo; Will It Be Yummy?

Labels: ,

There's been Cupcake, Donut, and Eclair so far. As you can see Google's Android codenames go in alphabetical order and are desserts. The next one on the list isn't Flan, it's Froyo according to Google's Erick Tseng. Unfortunately we don't know how big an update the next iteration of Android will be so we'll just have to wait. This likely won't be 3.0 though, maybe a 2.5 update - maybe even 2.2.

Motorola Shadow To Be the Google Nexus Two?

Labels: , , , ,

Motorola Shadow, does that ring a bell? Well, we heard about it in late December and a new rumour has just started. Recently we heard that Google is planning an "enterprise version" of the Nexus One (possibly the Nexus Two) that will feature a QWERTY keyboard. Well, they might be looking to Motorola for this model - instead of HTC - and it could be the Motorola Shadow. Unfortunately, the keyboard doesn't look much better than the DROID, but keep in mind that the above render could be fan-made.

Back in December we heard that this handset will have a 4.3-inch touchscreen display so it could be like an HTC HD2 with a QWERTY keyboard - with a beefed up 8MP camera though.
