Bell To Launch the Samsung (S8500) Wave For Just $29.95

Labels: , , , , , ,

Well, what do we have here? We already know that the Samsung Wave will be hitting Canada via Bell and Rogers and it looks like it has just been priced. According to the picture above, Bell will be launching it for $29.95 on a 3-year contract and $299.95 contract-free. This Bada-based handset is definitely priced lower than I expected it to be. I think it's a great deal, so look out for it soon.

Telus Looking To Launch the INQ Chat 3G

Labels: , , , ,

It's been a while since we've seen the INQ Chat 3G hit the FCC (that was back in May) and now a carrier in North America looks like they're finally going to take advantage of this. Telus in Canada is gearing up to launch said device. The handset sports a 2.2-inch QVGA display with a 240 x 320 resolution, a QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2MP camera, GPS, social (Facebook and Twitter) integration, and a microSD card slot.

T-Mobile To Get Their Samsung Vibrant (Galaxy S Variant) On July 15th -- Up From the 21st

Labels: , , , , , , ,

It was scheduled to hit the carrier on July 21st and T-Mobile USA could actually be planning to push up the date, which is always great news for everyone - especially since it rarely happens. The Android-based Samsung Galaxy S variant that T-Mobile will be getting - the Vibrant - could actually hit the carrier and various T-Mo locations across the US starting on July 15th. That is, if you believe the picture above. It seems like it's pretty legit coming from T-Mobile themselves. Awesome!

Update: Unwired View managed to find another picture from T-Mobile that flaunts the July 15th release date - it's below.

HTC Vision To Be T-Mobile USA's First 21Mbps HSPA+ Smartphone

Labels: , , , , , , ,

It looks like the USA is about to get a bit better, thanks to T-Mobile. Apparently, they're looking to launch an HTC smartphone that'll be running on T-Mobile's HSPA+ network. Said smartphone could actually be the HTC Vision and will be capable of 21Mbps speeds. The supposed release date for this handset will be this September and it'll be rocking Android. Maybe HTC will even be nice enough to give Canada a model that'll be capable of running on Bell and / or Telus' HSPA+ network as well.

Leaked T-Mobile Roadmap Shows a Bunch Of Android Handsets

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

It looks like T-Mobile's roadmap has just leaked out showing off some handsets that the carrier has up their sleeve in H2 of this year, which starts right now. It doesn't tell us exactly what's on the way but there are a couple of Android handsets on the way. This includes two from Motorola - possibly the MB710 / XT720 and the XT502 - two from HTC (one of them being the Emerald) and even one unknown one from LG. Another handset that should grace the carrier is a new BB smartphone - possible the Curve 9300 or the 9800. Look out for all of these within the next six months.

Update: According to WMPowerUser, a Windows Phone 7 handset is on the roadmap as well and it's the HTC Shubert - just a codename, hopefully.

MetroPCS To Launch the BlackBerry Curve 8530 / 9300 On July 19th

Labels: , , , , ,

Apparently, MetroPCS is looking to launch a new RIM smartphone in the USA really soon. The rumour states that either the BlackBerry Curve 8530 or the 9300 will be hitting the carrier on $299.99 before a $50 mail-in rebate - bringing the price to $249.99. Of course, this is contract-free so that's a pretty good deal. If you love pre-paid handsets then you might want to wait for this one if you want to BBM your friends. I'm going to guess that it'll be the Curve 8530 because I can't picture them being the first carrier worldwide to launch the new 9300 - even when it hasn't been announced yet.

Samsung Galaxy Naos and Teos, Two Variants of the Android-Based I5800

Labels: , , , , ,

This styling shouldn't be all that surprising if you're similar with Samsung's phones. It looks like they're going to have two different models of their I5800 Android handset. The first one is above and it's already available on Orange France (in black or white), dubbed the Galaxy Naos. The Galaxy Teos is below and just sports a slightly different face. Both of these handsets sport the same spec sheet: a 3.2-inch WQVGA capacitive touchscreen display (240 x 400 resolution), a 667MHz CPU, WiFi b/g/n / HSDPA connectivity, aGPS, a microSD card slot, a 3MP camera, a 1,500mAh battery, and Android 2.1 underneath the Touchwiz UI.

Motorola MB710 (XT720 / XT701) Android-Based Handset Hits the FCC, Headed To T-Mobile

Labels: , , , ,

Another Motorola handset has just hit the FCC (filing here) and it's the MB710 which is looking a lot like the XT720 / XT701. This handset is, of course, running Android and it's sporting a pretty hefty spec sheet. The CPU inside isn't specified but everyone's hoping that it'll be the TI OMAP3630 1GHz CPU. This handset is set to launch on T-Mobile USA in the future (I doubt it'll hit WIND in Canada).

Update: There's an updated picture above, via Engadget. It clearly shows the 8MP camera on the back, which is expected.

21.5-Inch Lenovo IdeaCentre A310 All In One PC With Core i3 CPU Hitting Japan On July 17th

Labels: , , , , ,

The Lenovo IdeaCentre A300 hasn't even been out for that long but it was kind of upsetting to see that it didn't sport Intel Core 2010 CPU options. Thankfully, they've done just that with the 21.5-inch A310 all in one PC that'll be hitting Japan on July 17th. Just about the only upgrade is the CPU which will be an Intel Core i3-350M 32nm chip. If you're interested, then you'll be able to get it for ¥109,000 ($1,243 USD) - this includes the external DVD rewriter Engadget points out.

Leaked UK Roadmap Tells Us Lots: HTC Vision, HTC Ace, HTC Gold, Samsung I8700, and Nokia E7

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

A roadmap from the UK has just been leaked out for the whole world to see. This roadmap tells us a bunch of new handsets that the UK will be getting and all of them haven't even been officially announced yet. Coming from Omio, the first handset is the HTC Vision and the HTC Ace. The first handset may have already been leaked a couple of days ago and it's said to feature a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a 1GHz CPU. We know nothing about the Ace right now, but it's hopefully running Android.

The next handset is the HTC Gold which is looking like it's just a codename for an upcoming Windows Phone 7 device. This handset is likely going to feature a WVGA touchscreen display, a 1GHz CPU, and at least a 5MP camera (those are all standard WinPho 7 requirements).

In November, folks in the UK can expect the Nokia E7 which could actually be the N9 / C0 / N8-01 that keeps on leaking out. This handset is sporting a 4-inch AMOLED display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and Symbian^3.

There's also talks of a new Samsung Android device in the works, dubbed the I8700 "Cetus." I'm going to assume that this will be a part of their growing Galaxy Series and it shouldn't be as high-end as their I9000 Galaxy S handsets.

For UK release dates, in July (later this month) they should be getting the Nokia E5-00, the Sony Ericsson W20, and the Samsung I5500. In August, they're getting the Nokia X6 8GB along with the BlackBerry Curve 9300. In September, there's the Sony Ericsson Hazel and the Nokia X2. In October, you can expect the HTC Vision, the HTC Ace, the Nokia N8, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, and the SE Yendo.

Acer Aspire One D255 Netbook To Sport Dual-Core Atom N550 CPU

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Another Acer Aspire One netbook is on the way and it should take the D255 moniker. Engadget points out that the D255 netbook should be extremely identical to the D260 but inside you'll find an Intel Atom N550 which is a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU. This could be dual-booting Windows 7 and Android similar to the D260 but that's unknown right now. The price and release date is still TBA so look out for it and the oh-so-important complete spec sheet in the future.

AT&T To Get the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 Soon?

Labels: , , , ,

AT&T fans in America (the two of you) could be getting their chance at the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 soon because said carrier might be planning to launch it. A part's supplier is selling a bottom plate for the Pearl 9100 that clearly sports the AT&T branding. This wouldn't be all that surprising seeing how Rogers is offering this handset in Canada and it runs on the same network as AT&T's would.

I don't think it's all that great but portability is the key here and could be what you're looking for.
