Of course, if this is announced then you can also expect RIM to show off the new OS 6.0 along with the new WebKit browser to stay in the smartphone game. The 9800 will be launched on AT&T (not surprising) which explains the AT&T logo in the top left corner. In Canada, you expect the 9800 on Rogers.

Boost Mobile Announces Two Flip Phones, the Motorola Rambler and Bali

Labels: , , , ,

Like the title says, Boost Mobile has just announced two new flip phones that they'll be launching. The first one is the Motorola Rambler which is a flip phone that surprises everyone with a QWERTY keyboard instead of the standard T9 keypad. The other handset is the Motorola Bali which sports the same specs as the Rambler but swaps the QWERTY keyboard for the T9 keypad; this one sports a microSD card slot as well. Surprisingly enough, the Bali will cost $149.99 contract-free, which is a bit more expensive than the Rambler. Both of these handsets will be available on August 11th.

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Alright, there's some more information about some smartphones in the USA - the ones from RIM. On August 15th, the BlackBerry Storm 2 (9550) on Verizon will see its doom and on August 1st, the Curve 8530 will be getting their end-of-life papers as well. Another Android Phone Could Be Headed To T-Mobile, the myTouch 3G HD

Labels: , , , ,

Just yesterday we heard that T-Mobile is no longer offering the G1 anymore and it could be because they're about to introduce their HSPA+ device, which is going to sport a QWERTY keyboard with the Android OS. Apparently though, the HSPA+ device may not be the HTC Vision, as expected, since there's another smartphone that's making the rounds. The phone you see above is being called the myTouch 3G HD and it does not sport a slide-out QWERTY keyboard of any sort. Sporting a large touchscreen display, this could be another high-end Android phone headed to the carrier and maybe it's the Vanguard but we'll have to wait and see, really.

Modu T-Phone Stars In YouTube Video, Shows Off Old School Android 1.6

Labels: , , ,

In early June we heard about the Modu T-Phone and it has just made an appearance in a video. This seems like it will be the smallest Android in the world since it's a little bit smaller than Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X10 Mini. The T-Phone from Modu will reportedly feature a microSD card slot, 3G connectivity, an FM tuner, and WiFi support. In the video, it's mentioned that there's stylus support so the small touchscreen display could actually be resistive. In the video it's also mentioned that there's no 3G connectivity on this unit so Engadget points out that it could be a pre-production unit. Let's hope that is the case.

T-Mobile's HSPA+ Device To Be the HTC Vanguard / Vision / G1 Blaze? Source Code Says So

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Not exactly the most surprising news in the world but apparently T-Mobile's HSPA+ device is likely going to be the HTC Vanguard / Vision / G1 Blaze. On T-Mobile's teaser site (here) the source code talks just a bit about the Vanguard - in the picture below. Of course, we've heard the rumoured specs for this smartphone time and time again: a 3.7-inch display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 1GHz CPU, and Android 2.1. This would be a nice handset for T-Mobile to have to battle Sprint's upcoming Epic 4G - I think I've said that before.
