Audi R8 V12 With LED Lights, Wii Sports the Best Selling Game Ever?!

Labels: , , ,

So, after my last blog post i watched 'The Bourne Identity' and ate some food. Shortly after i finished eating, Emily's and Aldric's dad came over to pick up our old table, so that we can replace it with our new table that we got in the summertime from The Brick. After we finished assembling the table, it was about 5:45 p.m. and church started at 5:30 p.m., so we missed some of mass already. So, we left as fast as we could and stayed at church until it was over, which was around 6:20 p.m. We went home and i had to cut up and fold all of the boxes, since tomorrow is when the people pick up our recycling. Right now, i'm just trying to kill some time until my girlfriend get's to her residence, since everyone has school tomorrow, except for a select few. Man, i don't want to go to school tomorrow, but i have to, which sucks. But, oh well, it's not like it's a big deal anyway. In February though, is where my real challenge will start. English, Calculus and Physics in one semester, oh God. I have to focus. My first semester this year, has actually been my best semester, since Grade 8, which is a very good sign. I'm quite dedicated this year, since next year i have to go to University, so i have to get prepared for that. And, i've got to smarten up for my future, i'm trying to get my life together now, it's a good thing. Anyways, let's continue with some talk about the Audi R8 and, the game, Wii Sports.

Besides looking sexy, the Audi R8 looks to be the first to take a huge step in the right direction. When i say huge, i mean giant. Every light on or inside the car is LED. "Headlights, running lights, turn signals - you name it there's an LED shining bright inside. And not just shining but 'smartly' shining and adapting to the driver's needs." Trust me, this is more amazing than you realize. Dr. Wolfgang Huhn, Head of the Light and Visibility Department at Audi says that future generations of headlights will react to certain weather conditions and that they are striving to create 'intelligent' headlights and taillights for the driver's safety and comfort. He also mentions that they are developing high beam lights that are bright, but also do not distract or blind the other drivers. They will do this by using "a variable distribution of light: An electronic system [that] continuously calculates the distance to any approaching vehicles to ensure that the road ahead is ideally illuminated at all times - without irritating oncoming drivers." Talk about a technological advancement. My mom always complains when someone high beams are blinding her, but i don't blame her. Those things are hard to look into and can even cause an unnecessary accident. Good job Audi, keeping all of us safe. Hopefully, they don't just install these lights in high-end luxury cars or else, it's not going to make that much of a difference.

Wii Sports may now be the best selling game of all time. Yes, all time. Gaming history here, ladies and gentlemen. The previous leader's, Super Mario Brothers, 40.24 million mark may have been surpassed, just recently. I actually was unaware that more than 40 million Wii's have been sold worldwide and that it amazing. Maybe that's why Mr. Wii Kid in my last post was so crazy, he probably played Wii Sports later, that same night. I can't lie, Nintendo, you are just smashing records left and right. Maybe, i don't give the Wii enough credit, but i have to tip my hat to this accomplishment. Congratulations, Nintendo, you win. Just don't brag too much.

OMFFG!!??!!!11 Nintendo Wii, Samsung Unveiling Thin TV at CES, Soulja Boy Got Robbed

Labels: , ,

Ahh, i had an alright sleep this morning. I slept at around 6:30 a.m. and i woke up at around 12:10 p.m. As soon as i woke up, i went to eat some ham and eggs, yum. After that, i was watching some poker on TV and i, of course, read my Google Reader. There was nothing to talk about in today's news, so i went back and looked at some old news. I found a couple of things from last night that i was going to talk about, so here goes.

I came across a video of a Canadian kid receiving the Nintendo Wii for Christmas. Man, this is pathetic, but i mean, for a kid, it must be really exciting to get a Wii for Christmas. Hopefully, the Wii will be so revolutionary that it will reduce the obesity of America or maybe that's just wishful thinking. Anyways, this kid got the Wii for Christmas and his reaction is, seriously, on another level. I have already seen the video compilation of the 50 kids receiving the Wii, but none of their reactions compare to this one. 2 huge yells, a couple of dances [?], a crazy laugh, bench pressing the Wii, and a scary smile... that sums up this video. This video is the winner in my book. Even compared to Nintendo 64 kid. This tops all. Watch it below, via thetechherald.com [Removed video on January 19 / 08].

Samsung is set to unveil a TV that will be 6.5 - 7 mm thick at this year's CES in Las Vegas. Macworld.com reports that, "The Samsung TV stands at present to be the thinnest LCD TV yet demonstrated." Of course, with thinness comes the quite large price tag, for the consumers. We may even see thinner TV's at CES, thanks to OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology. If this TV (on the left side) is being presented at CES, it may be one of the sexiest too, i think. I'm so used to seeing Samsung's TV frames being black, but it looks really good as white. I'd still prefer to get a black-framed TV for everyday use, but still, the white looks sexy. Anyways, i'm really excited for CES and, hopefully, i can watch the live stream somewhere on the Internet.

So, on January 30 Soulja Boy was robbed. Good. Seriously, i dislike Soulja Boy and his very annoying music. Very irritating on the ears and it's the same crap over and over again. XXLmag.com states that, "As of press time it is unclear what the assailants stole." Too bad. Hopefully, they stole his video camera, so that he can't record stupid videos about him challenging everyone to face him on Xbox Live. Especially, when he got wrecked in Madden by Bow Wow (video here via youtube.com). To add to that, apparently his Halo account wasn't any better, since you could access all of his records and K:D's online. I shouldn't be talking though, since i don't have Xbox 360 and i suck at Shooter's, but when Starcraft 2 comes around, i'm going to challenge everyone. I'm coming after those Asians. Anyways, Soulja Boy got robbed, hah, serves him right. Maybe i should feel some sympathy towards him, but i hate Soulja Boy and his fan-base seems to be saying the same thing, since he sold a pathetic amount of records in his first week's sales.

Metacritic Terrorism

Labels: , , , , ,

Hilarious news that i just found out. Reading my Google Reader, i just saw one of the funniest things. Apparently, this 'war' started on metacritic.com, regarding Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 gamers. The ongoing war is that 360 fans have been down-ranking Playstation 3 games and Playstation 3 fans have been doing the same towards the Xbox 360's games. On the site, users can view their opinion on each game, review it themselves and they can also rate it out of 10. Bad news for the regular non-fanboy readers, who actually view the opinion of other people. When Killzone 2, a Playstation 3 exclusive title, was able to be reviewed by the fans just moments ago, the 360 fans downranked the game. Right now, it is at a 6.3 / 10. In revenge, the Playstation 3 fans have striked back. Halo Wars, which is an Xbox 360 exclusive, currently has a very, very low rank. A mere 0.8 /10. While i was reading this, i was laughing. But, when i pushed all of the jokes aside, i figured that this is completely immature. It's actually quite sad that this is happening because people go on metacritic.com for a real review because some people actually base buying a game on another person's view of the game. I remember, back in my gamespot.com days, i used to look at a professional and user review / ranking of the game. If people continue doing this, metacritic.com may actually lose readers or views of their site, as a whole. Metacritic probably has to take some serious action soon, maybe [first] deleting all of the 0 / 10 reviews on Halo Wars and other games that have this similar problem. Sucks for Halo Wars though.

Macworld and CES in Under a Week!, Israel Ground Troops in Gaza

Labels: , ,

Last night, i slept at around 4 or 5 a.m. and i woke up this morning / afternoon at 1:30 p.m. I woke up because my mom needed to go to do the groceries early. We needed to go early because my uncle was going to take our table, since me and my mom got a new table in the summertime. Well, we did the groceries and we went to No Frills and Price Chopper. We got home and my uncle called and told me that he's picking the table up tomorrow instead. After that, i slept again when my girlfriend went out to dinner with her family. So that was around 7 p.m. and i just woke up about 10 minutes ago (11:30 p.m.). I've been sleeping so much lately, it's bad. It's bad because i am not going to be used to sleeping 3 hours every night when school-time comes around. Argh, but it's okay, my body will get used to it again. Anyways, about my tech news that's actually been slowing down a bit. Just bare with me because this week will be a big week, especially the weekend. I believe it is Macworld this week and then on the weekend it's CES. Hopefully, i'll be able to watch some live stream on the Internet somewhere. Let's just hope i can.

I have no tech news for you all today, maybe i will later tonight, before i sleep. I'll blog again if i find something good to talk about. Anyways, my girlfriend woke me up about 10 - 15 minutes ago because she told me that some Israel people are now attacking Gaza. I would give you background information on why they are attacking Gaza, but i don't want to get any information wrong. So, i'll just leave that up to you to find out.
