Quanta Working On 3.5-Inch Smartbook Or Smartphone Or... Whatever

Labels: , ,

Although it definitely won't be what you see above (the modded Dell Mini netbook) Quanta is working on a smartbook that will feature a 3.5-inch touchscreen display. I don't know how that would classify it as a smartbook in theory, since some smartphones (or even superphones) have larger displays than that. 3.5-inches would leave it on par with current iPhones, so uhh, yeah. The way Quanta describes it, it'll basically be a smartphone to be honest. This "smartbook" will be utilizing an ARM / Qualcomm CPU so look out for it whenever.

Wondering what the HTC Bravo will look like in real life? Well, today the first picture has been spotted of it and it's clearly got the Sense UI. What you can't see is that is features HSDPA / HSUPA connectivity, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, and Android. The display is measured at 3.7-inches and it should be launching in Sweden this March. This one will likely sell more than the Nexus One which reportedly clocked in terrible sales. On the back is a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash.

Motorola Shuns Windows Mobile, Launching 20 to 30 Android Phones This Year

Labels: , , , ,

Even though Windows Mobile 7 may or may not actually launch this year Motorola has already made up their mind and has mentioned that they will not be launching any Windows Mobile phones this year. Instead they'll be launching 20 to 30 smartphones (this year) and all of them will be running Google's Android OS. Motorola has been saved by Android with their recent success starting with the Motorola DROID. I can't wait for the rumoured Shadow to launch cause that looks to be their next big thing.

T-Mobile Launch Dates Leaked? HTC HD2, myTouch Slide, Motorola Zeppelin, and More!

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Big T-Mobile rumours today. First up is that the HTC HD2 will be launching in March. Along with that launch on May 17th they may also be launching the myTouch Slide which will essentially be the HTC Espresso - we saw the UA Profile for it a couple of days ago. The Motorola Zeppelin should be launching, but we don't know when yet. On March 17th, they should be launching the Nokia 5230 and that unknown Garmin handset could be set for a May 5th launch date.

T-Mobile will also be launching something from Dell but we don't know what it is right now. It's not a cell phone though so it's not the Dell Mini 3. It could be the Dell Mini 5 / Streak MID, but it could also be a netbook as well.

On February 10th, you can also expect the myTouch 3G v1.2 which will be the myTouch 3G with the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Don't forget that starting right now you can get the myTouch 3G Fender Edition.

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Remember the Asus Eee Pad? Well, it's supposed to powered by Nvidia's Tegra 2 graphics. This tablet is expected to launch under $500 later this year and it will actually be making a showing at Computex this June. I'm fairly excited for this one, but we'll see what happens on Wednesday when Apple announces their tablet.

A couple of days ago we heard about the 6-inch DR-570 and the 9-inch DR-950 e-book readers. The bad news here is that they're actually being delayed and won't launch until the second half of 2010.

Sony Launching PS3 Motion-Sensing Controller "Arc" In Fall 2010

Labels: , , ,

We've known for a while that Sony is working on their own motion-sensing controller - like the Wii's - and we heard a long time ago that it would be called the "Magic Wand" - at least internally. This controller may actually end up being called the Arc and it's actually going to miss its targeted Spring launch. It's now set to launch worldwide this Fall, giving them more time to perfect their technology. This also gives them a bit of breathing room before Microsoft launches Project Natal (their full-body motion-sensing controller) for the Xbox 360 in the holiday season.
