Yes, it's the Monaco / Monza which could be launching as the Storm 3, Curve Touch, or the BlackBerry Touch - it's all too confusing at this point. The name doesn't really matter because it's all about the software.

This smartphone is going to be running on BB OS 6.1 and there'll be a global GSM model for it. Specs are still unknown right now but you'll need a BlackBerry ID to login to the system. If you want to know more then just check out BGR for all of the details.

HTC Holding An Event On April 12th; Pyramid, "Honeycomb" Tablets, Or European EVO 3D?

Labels: , , , ,

HTC wants us to join them "to see what's next" on April 12th which is in two weeks. The event starts at 1:30PM GMT which is 8:30AM ET - that's early. Okay, so now it's time to speculate what'll be announced. It could be a number of things: the HTC Pyramid or some "Honeycomb" based tablets. To be honest, it doesn't really which one they announce because I'm looking forward to both. Engadget is guessing that it could be something mediocre like a European EVO 3D launch which would be upsetting.

Verizon's Roadmap Leaks, Includes 8 Android Phones and a Lone Windows Phone

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Phandroid has just gotten quite a big exclusive leak regarding upcoming Verizon phones. The leak above is clearly "subject to change" but it's a fairly good indication of what to expect in the next couple of weeks / months. The first two that Verizon will be launching will apparently be on April 7th where you can expect two Android phones: the waterproof Casio Commando and the Samsung DROID Charge (aka Stealth) which will feature the Touchwiz UI as well as LTE (4G) support.

The week after that the carrier will be launching the PlayStation Certified XPERIA Play which is, of course, made by Sony Ericsson. A day after that will be the HTC Trophy which will be a Windows Phone 7 handset with Global connectivity which is great. Capping off the big month of April will be the DROID Incredible 2 which will be another Global device. The original DROID Incredible is now an EoL (End-of-Life) device so it's pretty clear that the successor is just around the corner.

On May 5th, you might want to mark the LG Revolution on your calendar. This one could be dropping on that day and it'll also have 4G connectivity via LTE. Launches in the rest of May include more 4G devices: Motorola DROID Bionic, DROID X 2, and the Galaxy S II. The Galaxy S II is definitely the one that people might be looking forward to the most - at least I am. Keep in mind that some of these devices could be delayed until June.

Lenovo's T420s and W520 Notebooks Now Available With Intel "Sandy Bridge" CPUs

Labels: , , , , , ,

Two Lenovo notebooks are now available and it's the 14-inch T420s and the 15.6-inch W520. They're both packing Intel "Sandy Bridge" CPUs which should be no surprise. The T420s packs a 1,600 x 900 resolution display, an Intel Core i5-2520M 2.5GHz CPU, and Windows 7 Home Premium in the base model. That's pretty good but it doesn't look like there's an option for a Core i7 CPU which could be bad if you crave for more speed.

The other notebook is the W520 which starts at $1,449. Fortunately, the base model features an Intel Core i7-2620M 2.7GHz CPU, a Nvidia Quadro 1000M GPU, and Optimus technology. Unfortunately, the display only sports a 1,366 x 768 resolution which isn't amazing. Thankfully, you're able to customize it to a 1,600 x 900 or a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution if you want it. Whenver you're ready check out the T420s here and the W520 here.

Of course, there's no way to confirm this but I hope it hits Android on the same day - which isn't looking too likely right now. Of course, the BBM for other platforms will just be a stripped down version so it might be a legitimate threat to other messaging services.

Update: BGR has contacted RIM and they mentioned that the rumour is false. RIM reportedly didn't even hold a conference in Toronto so it's absolutely made up.
