Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc S Gets Officially Announced

Sony is definitely off to a good start at IFA this year. They have announced their slew of tablets, notebooks, all-in-one PCs so far and now there's a new smartphone to look out for. They have unveiled what you see above, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc S. This one packs a Qualcomm MSM8255 1.4GHz CPU, a 4.2-inch display, Android, and an 8.1MP Exmor R camera. This one will be hitting the market this October so look out for it unless you have your eyes set on the next Google or Apple flagship.

Rogers has just released the two Android phones you may have been waiting for. Both the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play and the Arc are now available in Canada for $99.99 on a 3-year contract and $549.99 contract-free. If you head over to your local Best Buy store in Canada you might be intrigued with what you find. The stores across the country are now taking pre-orders for both the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play and the XPERIA Arc. They're both priced the same: at $99.99 on a 3-year contract and $549.99 contract-free. I believe that the XPERIA Play is the better option but the choice is really up to you.

Apparently, the XPERIA Play and the Arc will be available on Thursday, April 28th, which is just a few weeks away. Prices for these two seem to be $99.99 on a 3-year contract and $549.99 contract-free. The price and dates aren't official yet but they're pretty good with knowing what the situation is ahead of time.

We just found out last night that Rogers in Canada intends to launch the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc and Play before the end of April and they took another step to reach that goal today. It's no joke, but you can now pre-order both smartphones for $99.99 on a 3-year contract if you're interested. This one doesn't look like a joke. Mobile Syrup's latest scoop is that Rogers plans to launch the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc and the XPERIA Play in late April for $99.99 on a 3-year contract. It doesn't look like the handset's contract-free prices have been determined yet. The Arc looks like it could land on April 30th, while the Play could hit the carrier sometime between April 19th to the 21st. Interesting stuff!

Pink Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc Headed To Japan On March 24th

The perfect Paris Hilton phone? Possibly. NTT DoCoMo in Japan has just announced what you see above and that's a pink (Sakura Pink, to be exact) Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc. It'll be launching on March 24th along with the Misty Silver and Midnight Blue colours. This should be right around the same date that Europe will be getting it as well. Sadly, we don't know if this will be hitting North America so we're going to have to keep waiting.

It looks like two Sony Ericsson Android handsets are headed to Canada's Rogers sometime in the future. It's going to be the recently announced XPERIA Play gaming smartphone and the XPERIA Arc which was announced at CES earlier this year. These handsets will reportedly be available starting in Spring but not even a month was given. It's still early so the price is still TBD.

Update: According to MobileBurn, these two handsets along with the XPERIA Neo will be hitting T-Mobile UK as well!

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc looks like it's about to hit its first carrier in the future. T's reportedly going to hit O2 UK in April which is just a few months away. Price is unknown right now, but this smartphone is actually one of the best in the market. You might want to wait until the goodies at MWC before you set your heart on this one though.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc is now up for pre-order in at least one place. On Play it's up right now for £459.99 ($728 USD). This is a bit expensive but it's definitely cheaper than when the XPERIA X10 hit the market. The Arc features a 4.2-inch LCD LED-backlit display with a 480 x 854 resolution, a microSD card slot, 512MB of RAM, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, an 8MP AF camera with an LED flash and 720p HD video recording, Stereo FM radio with RDS support, a Qualcomm MSM8255 1GHz CPU, an Adreno 205 GPU, and Android 2.3. If you want all of that then you might want to head over to the site and pick one up.

Sony Ericsson has just leaked some vital information on their own Indonesian website. Apparently, the XPERIA Arc will be available quite soon if you believe what it says. Check it out on Sony Ericsson where the release is tipped to be in three months. Hopefully, this is a sign that it'll be available globally before the first half of this year.

We knew it was coming and Sony Ericsson has officially announced it. It's the XPERIA Arc which features a 4.2-inch touchscreen display, an 8MP camera with 720p HD video recording, a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU, an HDMI output, WiFi 802.11n / GPS / Bluetooth support, and Android 2.3. We don't know when or what carrier this will be hitting but we do know that Kaz Hirai hinted at the PlayStation being unveiled soon. Probably at MWC.

Coming from Gagadget is a photo of Sony Ericsson's XPERIA Arc, which was on the company's CES poster. Apparently, this one features a 4.2-inch 854 x 480 resolution touchscreen display, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, an 8MP camera with HD video recording, a microSD card slot, an HDMI output, DLNA, a 1,500mAh battery, an 8.7mm thin body (at its thinnest point), and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread". Don't forget that SE's press conference at CES is later tonight so they should be announcing it. Check out the promo video below!
