BlackBerry Pearl 9105 With T9 Keypad Spotted In the Wild, Looks Weird

Labels: , ,

The Nexus One isn't what we're here to talk about, instead we're talking about the BlackBerry Pearl on the right which could turn out to sport the 9105 number. Anyways, as you can see in the image above it's sporting a traditional T9 keypad. The one on the left is the the Pearl 9100 with the usual SureType keyboard. There's no carrier-branding on either of these BB's so we'll just have to wait for the official word from RIM to see exactly where these are headed.

Apparently the RM-687 that was spotted yesterday is going to turn out to be the Nokia X3 (even though it doesn't look like it) intended for Verizon. We don't know when it will hit Verizon but it should be fairly soon. It shouldn't be expensive on contract so that's a good thing.

RIM Planning To Launch 8.9-Inch BlackBerry Tablet This Year?

Labels: , ,

The latest rumour states that RIM could be launching a BlackBerry tablet sometime this year, more specifically the second half of this year. Apparently, RIM has just ordered 8.9-inch touchscreen displays from Hon Hai and what else could they really do with that large of a display? They must be working on a tablet and that's pretty interesting because I would've never guessed that RIM would make a tablet. All that we know right now is that it'll sport WiFi and 3.5G connectivity. We'll have to wait for more details.

Update: According to Phone Arena, RIM's tablet is apparently codenamed the "BlackPad" or the "Cobalt".

Hiton HT-960 Tablet Sports HP Slate-Like Specs, But It's Cheaper and Runs Windows XP

Labels: , ,

An unknown company (to me, at least) has just announced their own tablet. What you see above is the Hiton HT-960, which has a pretty good spec sheet. Engadget mentions that it's comparable to the HP Slate. This tablet will feature an 8.9-inch touchscreen display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, an Intel Atom 1.6GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 16GB SSD. This tablet will reportedly launch for around $418 USD which is fairly good, but it's running Windows XP so that's a turn-off. I wonder how it will work in the real world, though it looks decent on paper.
