The 3DTV can be scaled up to 70-inches and it's reportedly the "world's largest glasses-free 3D screen" which is pretty impressive.

Apple Set To Use Their Own Chips In Future iPhones

Labels: , , , ,

Apparently, Apple is looking to use their own chips in the next iPhone - and probably all of their future iPhones. This shouldn't be surprising since that's exactly what they did in their recently launched iPad. Of course, specific details regarding the chip Apple will use for the next iPhone isn't mentioned, but it could be the same one found in the iPad which is the A4 chip above. Then again, it could also be an even powerful chip to handle iPhone OS 4.0 which is a huge step-up.

Toshiba's Android and Windows Tablet Will Use Nvidia's Tegra 2, Making the Courier

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Last week we heard about Toshiba launching two upcoming tablets to go head-to-head with the iPad. Although either of them probably won't sell as much as the iPad, they're rumoured to be quite powerful. According to Digitimes, Nvidia's Tegra 2 will be powering both of the tablets (Android and Windows). This will give it enough power to easily output 1080p video. The launch date is said to be late this year or early next year.

The report also states that Toshiba is working on a dual-screen tablet that'll be running Windows CE 7. This could actually be the Courier, which I originally thought HP would be making. Looks like it could actually be Toshiba.

HTC Desire In Black and Samsung S5620 Monte Now "Coming Soon" To Orange UK

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Of course, it'll be available for free on select contracts, so just look out for it in a couple of days / weeks.

Another phone has hit Orange UK as well and it's the Samsung S5620 Monte. It's not as exciting as the Desire, but the contract prices will be cheaper.

Gizmodo Gets Their Hands On the iPhone 4G / HD, Possibly a Prototype

Labels: , , , ,

While Engadget was busy proving that the iPhone 4G leak over the weekend was real, Gizmodo stepped it up a little bit by actually getting said phone. Honestly, you can just scroll down and check out what they have to say because they wrote a lot about it. They even disassembled the handset, but they were careful. This new iPhone [possibly a prototype] sported a front-facing camera, a better camera on the back (larger lens, possibly 5MP) with a flash, a microSIM slot, a slightly smaller display with a higher resolution (possibly 460 x 960), a secondary mic for noise cancellation, and a 16% larger battery.

This time around the back is completely flat and it's just 3 grams heavier so it's not a big deal. They've added metallic power, mute, and (split) volume buttons. You can check out all the videos at the link below, be sure to check it out! Could it be the real deal?

Labels: , , , , , ,

Bell's Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy, has just gotten a price cut to $0! This is pretty good for a phone like this, but you'll be stuck with the traditional Canadian 3-year contract which definitely sucks. Of course, you can also get this handset for $299.95 on a 2-year contract, $399.95 on a 1-year contract and $449.95 contract-free. Check it out on Bell here.

Of course, it's unconfirmed right now, so mark that calendar with a pencil. The price appears to be $199.99 on a 2-year contract.

Banes & Noble Preparing To Launch WiFi-Only Nook Lite and Nook 2 Later This Year?

Labels: , , , , ,

Okay, so we don't know what Amazon has up their sleeve for the next Kindle, but the latest rumour states that Barnes & Noble is gearing up two new e-book readers. Apparently, they're looking to release a WiFi-only Nook Lite and the Nook 2. Both of these models should hit the market by the end of this year. More specifically, the WiFi-only Nook could actually hit the market sometime this quarter for $199. There are no details on what the Nook 2 will bring to the table.

If you purchased the first Nook you should probably keep in mind that software update 1.4 should be available sometime next week - and it'll feature a browser!

iPhone 4G / HD Photo Could Actually Be Real!

Labels: , , ,

On Saturday, Engadget spotted a photo of a possible candidate for what the iPhone 4G will look like. It's probably the biggest make-over that the iPhone has ever gotten throughout the years and it looks pretty good. Later that night, someone figured out that the photo was actually just a Chinese fake, so a bunch of people were pretty upset. Engadget struck back with one of their editors finding proof that this could really be what the iPhone 4G / HD looks like. The proof (above) lies in a photo that has been available for months now and Apple put it right in our face.

If it's true, it could just be an Apple prototype that happened to leak out "accidentally" in a San Jose bar. Let's see what happens because this could turn ugly - in case you thought it hadn't already.

Apple Planning To Use An OLED Display In the 2011 iPad?

Labels: , , , , ,

Digitimes is reporting that Apple may be looking to make the iPad in 2011 with an OLED display. To be honest, I think it's a bit too early for Apple to be looking at OLED for the iPad because right now the cost of the panel is still pretty expensive. I doubt that Apple will launch the 2011 with an OLED display but that's just me. Anyways, the second-generation iPad is said to have a design like the iPhone that we'll see later this year. The cost of a 9.7-inch OLED display is reportedly $500 USD, while the 9.7-inch LCD display is just $60 to $70. Of course, the price of the OLED display is expected to drop in 2011, but I doubt that it'll be enough for Apple to make it mainstream.
