Like they said, Samsung has just come through and unveiled their first Samsung Galaxy S successor tease to us. It's a short 31 second video and it doesn't show us much. What it does tell us is that the rumours of the Galaxy S successor looking like the Nexus S is false. Specs are still unknown but it'll be a high-end superphone. Of course, it looks thin and it may also have a chrome frame which I hope they remove. Check out another picture and the video below.

After a lengthy wait, we finally know exactly what Samsung's Android-based Galaxy Player looks like and we know that it's almost ready to hit the market. Amazon UK has just put it up on their website and you can pre-order it if you'd like. The base model sports 8GB of internal storage and it'll cost you £149 ($230 USD). The PMP itself sports a 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD display, a microSD card slot, WiFi support, a 1,000mAh battery that will reportedly last 30 hours for audio and 5 hours for video, and Android 2.2 with access to the Android Market. Check out the 16GB model on Amazon UK where it's going for £179 ($277 USD). Apparently, this one's set to be released on January 7th so it'll be available by the end of the week so we're waiting for the official announcement!

Apparently, the photo above could be the Samsung Galaxy Tab in the wild. There aren't really any other details beside that but it definitely looks smaller than I thought it would. Then again the display is only 7-inches so the smaller size was expected. This Android tablet is expected to hit the market sometime this quarter.

Update: According to Crunch Gear, this tablet could be announced on August 11th since Samsung is holding some event that day.

Canada's Bell Mobility has wisely cut their first Android handset, the Samsung I7500 Galaxy, to just $49.95 CAD on a 3-year contract. This is definitely a great price for the Galaxy - at least I think so - but Rogers will be getting the XPERIA X10 in Q2 if you feel like waiting. Since we're talking about Rogers you should know that they cut their Android-based LG Eve (GW620) so that it's now free on a 3-year contract.

Telus also changed one of their smartphone prices. They have actually gone out of their mind and have increased the BB Bold 9700 to $399.99 on a 3-year contract. That's just outrageous.

So, today's the day. Bell has just released both the Samsung I7500 Galaxy and the Nokia N97. The Galaxy is Bell's first Android-based handset and the N97 speaks for itself. The Galaxy is available here for $99.95 CAD on a 3-year contract, while the N97 is available here for $199.95 CAD on a 3-year contract. Let's see how many people I see walking around with an N97 now. I've only seen two in the flesh - one of them being my girlfriend's brother.

At this point we already know that Canada's Bell Mobility is looking to launch the Samsung I7500 Galaxy in the near future. Well, that near future appears to be December 10th. Next week Bell will be launching their first Android handset, the Samsung Galaxy. This handset will feature the traditional specs, that's: a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a 320 x 480 resolution, a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash, a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi support, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB cards), and Android 1.5. Pricing is still unknown.

It looks like Canada will be getting another Android handset. Rogers has the HTC Dream, HTC Magic, and the LG Eve (GW620), Telus has the HTC Hero, and Bell will be getting the Samsung I7500 Galaxy. Unfortunately, we don't know when it will be released, and the price is still TBA.

It looks like the Samsung I7500 Galaxy is now available on Newegg. This handset has quad-band GSM / tri-band UMTS connectivity, which would be perfect for T-Mobile and AT&T. According to the latest unconfirmed news, a couple of amazing Samsung handsets are going to be launched in Canada in the next "30-45 days." The three devices are: the Samsung Impact, the Samsung I7500 Galaxy, and the Samsung I8000 Omnia II.

This would be amazing, but right now we don't know what carriers will be launching what handset. The Galaxy will be the third Android handset in Canada and the Omnia II could be the first WinMo 6.5 that Canada will get.

Yes, these are photos of a white Samusng I7500 Galaxy. It's still running Android, so it's probably just another colour and not an entirely new handset. But wait, could this be the Samsung Galaxy Lite? I don't know, but it looks like it will be launching on O2 Germany before spreading out to other carriers in Europe. The sad part is that it doesn't look like this will hit US carriers.

Well, American consumers, this is still not your day. Samsung's first Android handset, the I7500 Galaxy, has just passed the FCC with US 3G. Unfortunately, this model "A3LGTI7500L" is headed to Latin America, so we'll just have to wait a little bit longer for this to launch on T-Mobile - still rumoured.

According to DigiTimes, Samsung "plans to launch more than 10 touch-enables handsets in the Taiwan market in the second half of 2009." This is to try to beat out their rival, LG. Although Samsung is first in the global market - shipping 6.1 million touch-enabled handsets in the first quarter of this year - LG has 17% of the touchscreen market in Taiwan, while Samsung only has 12%. Some handsets that will be launched in the second half of this year are the Samsung S8000 Jet, Beat DJ M7600, Omnia II I8000, Galaxy I7500, and the S5600 Blade.

As expected, the Android-based Samsung Galaxy I7500 is now available on Bouygues Telecom in France. It's been available since yesterday and is selling for €89 ($125 USD) on a 2-year contract after a €50 discount. You can also purchase this phone for €429 ($605 USD) if you want it free of contract. In the middle of May we heard that France would be launching the Android-based Samsung I7500 Galaxy in July. Well, they've pulled through on their word. According to France's Bouygues Telecom, they will be launching the I7500 Galaxy next week on July 16th. It will be available for as low as €99 ($139 USD) with a 2-year contract. The I7500 Galaxy runs Android and has: a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, a microSD card slot, and a 5MP camera.

Samsung has just released their first Android handset - in Germany. O2 is now selling the Samsung I7500 Galaxy for €69.99 on a 2-year contract which you have to pay €21.25 monthly. The I7500 Galaxy has: a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen HVGA (320 x 480) display, a 528MHz Qualcomm CPU, 128MB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage, Bluetooth, WiFi, a microSD slot, and a 5MP AF camera. Don't forget that it's running the Android OS, so that's something to get hyped about. I don't when it will hit T-Mobile, but, according to earlier rumours, it should be available this Fall.

Yes, that's right! The Samsung I7500 has reportedly gotten its name changed to the Samsung Galaxy - at least for those in France. Bouygues Telecom has just announced that they are expected to release Samsung's first Android device in early July. Just to recap, the Galaxy has: a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a 480 x 320 resolution, WiFi, GPS, a 5MP camera, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, and has quad-band GSM / tri-band HSDPA. Those in America are still expecting the I7500 or Galaxy to be released on T-Mobile this Fall. As of right now, I don't know if the American version will get the same name change.
