A couple of phones on Canada's Rogers has just gone through a price drop today. They're all listed below so I won't even bother listing it myself - thanks to Mobile Syrup. All of this great news is accompanied by the ZTE 636 and the Sony Ericsson MD 400 Rocket Sticks which will retail for free on a 1-year contract from now until May 1st, 2010.

We've know for a while that the LG GW620 would be launched in the UK and now T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile has just mentioned that they'll be launching it as the InTouch Max GW620. This handset features Android, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 3-inch touchscreen display, a 5MP camera, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 1,500 mAh battery.

This handset will be available for free on an 18-month or 24-month contract to those in the UK. The launch should be very soon.

Canada's Bell Mobility has wisely cut their first Android handset, the Samsung I7500 Galaxy, to just $49.95 CAD on a 3-year contract. This is definitely a great price for the Galaxy - at least I think so - but Rogers will be getting the XPERIA X10 in Q2 if you feel like waiting. Since we're talking about Rogers you should know that they cut their Android-based LG Eve (GW620) so that it's now free on a 3-year contract.

Telus also changed one of their smartphone prices. They have actually gone out of their mind and have increased the BB Bold 9700 to $399.99 on a 3-year contract. That's just outrageous.

We heard about it last week and it's now in effect. Rogers has just launched a couple of smartphones in the sub-$100 CAD range - on a 3-year contract. These include: the original BlackBerry Bold 9000 in black and white (for $99.99), the Curve 8900 (for $79.99), the Curve 8520 (for $49.99), the LG Eve GW620 (for $49.99), the XPERIA X1 (for $99.99), and the HTC Magic (for $79). This week is pretty big for Canadians. Bell is launching their HSPA network tomorrow along with their slew of phones and Telus is going to do the same thing in two days. Well, to protect themselves a little bit, both Rogers and Fido have introduced some new handsets.

Rogers is now selling the BlackBerry Bold 9700 for $299.99 CAD on a 3-year contract, $499.99 on a 2-year contract, $549.99 on a 1-year contract, and $599.99 contract-free. Check it out on Rogers' website here.

Rogers has gone on to retail their third Android handset and LG's first. The LG Eve (GW620) is now available for $49.99 CAD on a 3-year contract, $299.99 on a 2-year contract, $349.99 on a 1-year contract, and $399.99 contract-free. Check it out on Rogers' website here.

Fido has also released a new handset, the Sony Ericsson T715a. This handset is now available for $50 on a 2-year contract or for $200 contract-free or prepaid. Check it out on Fido's website here.

It looks like the LG GW620 has just passed the FCC with Android. We already know this, so it shouldn't be that shocking to you. It has quad-band GSM / EDGE plus WCDMA Band V, so that's 850 / 2100 MHz bands. We already know this is headed to Rogers on Tuesday, November 3rd. Check out the FCC filing here.

Well, it looks like Rogers is set to launch what they're calling "Web phones" and there'll be 5 of them in total (all under $100 CAD) - this could possibly be due to all of the hype that both Bell and Telus have been receiving lately. The 5 handsets will be the white BlackBerry Bold 9000, the HTC Magic, the LG Eve (GW620), the Nokia N86, and the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. Yes, the white BB Bold, LG Eve, and the N86 will be "new" handsets in Canada, but the XPERIA X1 isn't new - the big price drop is definitely welcomed though. It looks like the LG Eve (GW620) will be launching in France, Android and all. The unlocked price is expected to be €450 ($654 USD) and it's expected to launch on-contract for €69 ($100 USD). This handset should be available any day now on Bouygues Telecom, Orange, and SFR (at a later date), since they've pegged it for an early October release date. In the meantime, you can check out the video below.

Finally, LG has revealed their first handset running Android. The LG "Etna" has just been revealed to be the LG GW620! At IFA 2009 last week, we did hear that this handset does have: a 3-inch touchscreen display, a 5MP camera, Bluetooth / USB 2.0 support, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Judging from the picture above, LG has toyed with Android a little bit and they implemented their own S-Class UI flavour to it. This handset is expected to launch in "select European markets" in Q4 of this year, but the price hasn't been mentioned yet. Check out what LG had to say here.

Well, looky here. It's the LG Eve GW620 that I talked about two days ago. At that time, we didn't know anything much about the OS, but someone guessed that it would run Android and it looks like they were right. Coincidentally enough the rumoured specs are also the same. The LG Eve GW620 looks like it will have: a QWERTY keyboard and a 320 x 480 resolution WVGA display. This is LG's first Android handset, so that's always a good thing.

Another handset has also popped up today and it's to the successor the LG GM730. Like the LG GM730, the LG GM750 will probably run on Windows Mobile, since it is the direct successor. Nothing is known about this handset, but you could probably throw in a touchscreen on this handset.

Some nerds discovered that the LG GW620 Eve handset could be on its way soon, just take a look at LG's website here. The LG GW620 is said to support UMTS/HSDPA and GPRS connectivity. Other specs include: a 320 x 480 display (possibly touchscreen) and a QWERTY keyboard that is probably of the slide-out variation - unless it's like the Palm Pre. Last week, this handset passed through the WiFi Alliance. What makes this news interesting is that this could be LG's first Android handset. However, it looks like this handset doesn't have Flash support.
