Labels: , , , ,

PocketNow has managed to scoop up the first photo of the upcoming HTC Ville which should be announced in early 2012 - possibly MWC in February. The smartphone is said to be sporting a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display, an 8MP camera, a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU, and should launch with Android "Ice Cream Sandwich" since it doesn't look like there's room for buttons here. Sadly, the company might ruin it with their Sense UI. Keep in mind that this smartphone should also be their thinnest yet at somewhere in the ballpark of 8mm. Shipping is rumoured for April 2012.

HTC Zeta Rumoured To Feature Quad-Core 2.5GHz CPU and Android 4.0

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Just when you thought the dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and the upcoming Tegra 3 CPU were fast here comes a new rumour. Engadget has gotten an exclusive rumour dubbed the HTC "Zeta". Apparently, this super-superphone will feature an upcoming and obvious next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core APQ8064 2.5GHz CPU which just sounds absolutely insane. Other specs reportedly include a 4.5-inch 720p display, 32GB of storage, Beats Audio, Bluetooth 4.0 / WiFi support, an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, a 9.8mm thin body that weighs 146 grams, a 1,830mAh battery, and Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich" with the Sense UI. The body actually looks very HTC-like but keep in mind that it's just a rendering right now.

Now, they say it'll have ICS at launch but the buttons are still present so hopefully those will disappear before the launch that should be coming sometime in 2012. That Galaxy Nexus isn't looking like a beast anymore.

HTC Titan Hits AT&T On November 20th For $199

HTC Ville Rumour Says That Sense UI Will Destroy Android "Ice Cream Sandwich" In April

Labels: , , , ,

BGR has just picked up quite the exclusive scoop on an HTC phone that you should see sometime in 2012. The HTC "Ville" is rumoured to be launching in April 2012. This smartphone is said to pack a mediocre 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display but it makes up for it with the rest of the spec sheet. Apparently, it'll house a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon CPU, an 8mm thin body, HSPA+ support, Beats Audio, a 1,650mAh battery, and Android "Ice Cream Sandwich" with the Sense 4.0 UI.

That spec sheet seems pretty good right now but it'll be a hard sell with HD displays and quad-core CPUs taking over mobile phones in 2012. Furthermore, HTC is putting their Sense skin over top of the sexy "Ice Cream Sandwich" so you might want to pick up a Galaxy Nexus is you don't want to get slowed down.

HTC "Edge" Headed To the Market In 2012, Could Be World's First Quad-Core Phone

Labels: , , , , , ,

PocketNow is back at it again and leaking things that won't hit the market for a few months. Apparently, the smartphone you see above is an early picture of the HTC "Edge" which will possibly be the world's first phone with a quad-core CPU. The smartphone is going to be running Android but looks like it still has the traditional buttons so maybe they'll push the release back a bit, get rid of the buttons, and throw on Android 4.0 on this bad boy.

Anyways, getting right down to it, this is rumoured to feature: a 4.7-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP camera, a front-facing camera, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 4.0 support, Beats Audio, a body just over 10mm thick, and Beats Audio. The CPU inside of this should be the Nvidia Kal-El (Tegra 3) clocked at 1.5GHz which is damn speedy. This one should be launched in early 2012 so we could see an announcement at CES 2012 in early January.
