Labels: , , ,

Gateway has just unveiled two more of their touchscreen all in one PCs. The first one is the 20-inch ZX4300, which sports a 1,600 x 900 resolution. This model packs an AMD Athlon II X2 235e CPU, ATI Radeon HD 4270 graphics, a 640GB HDD, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, WiFi b/g/n, and Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). In July, this model will be getting faster AMD CPUs along with a TV tuner.

The other model that is actually available right now is the larger 23-inch ZX6900 all in one PC. Like the other model, this will also come with a wireless keyboard and mouse. This PC has a base price of $1,019.99 and, like I said, it's available now. In June, this model will get an upgrade to an Intel Core i5-650 CPU along with a TV tuner.

Motion Unveils Rugged F5v and C5v Tablets With Core i5 / i7 CPUs, Both Overpriced

Labels: , , , , ,

A company named Motion has just unveiled and released their latest rugged tablets. The F5v is said to be a "mobile field tool" for your outdoor needs, while the C5v is the "mobile clinical assistant" and sports a digital camera along with an RFID scanner and a barcode reader. Both of these tablets have an MIL-STD-810G and an IP-54 rugged rating, which means you can drop them just about as much as you want. Both of these tablets sport Intel Core i5 / i7 CPU options, a 160GB HDD, 4GB of RAM, a Gorilla glass touchscreen display, WiFi / Bluetooth support, and an optional Qualcomm Gobi 2000 WWAN chipset.

The F5v is now available for $2,548 while the C5v is just $2,299. At these prices, I assume that it would be better for a hospital to use an iPad as a "clinical assistant."

iPhone 4 Beta 4 Code Reveals LED Flash On the Next iPhone, iPod (Likely the Touch), and iPad, Mac OS 10.7 Soon

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

A couple more interesting pieces of detail has just been spotted in the code of the iPhone 4 Beta 4. It seems just about certain that the next iPhone that comes out in about a month from now will have an LED flash which isn't too surprising.

That's not all though. Apparently, a future iPod and the next iPad will likely have it as well.

Of course, the next iPod Touch will have a camera.

Last, but not least, it looks like we can expect Apple to release the Mac OS 10.7 sometime in the near future. This means Apple plans to launch the next iteration of the Mac OS within a year from now. It's expected that their latest version will have touch support.

Foxconn Shows Off Prototype Android-Based Tablet With Nvidia Tegra 2 - With Video!

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Foxconn has just shown off their latest Android-based tablet prototype that seemed to be working pretty good. Gizmodo is saying that the display measures 8.9-inches, while Engadget says that it's 9.7-inches and since I wasn't there I don't really know who to believe. We do know that the aspect ratio is definitely wider then what you'll find on the iPad.

Inside you'll find Nvidia's Tegra 2 chipset, an ARM Cortex 9 CPU, 1GB of RAM, two USB ports, and a front-facing camera. The price or release date wasn't mentioned so this has a chance of not even hitting the market, which would be a let down.

New Apple Leak Shows a White iPhone Casing -- and the Front-Facing Camera, Of Course

Labels: , , , ,

The latest leak shows a possible next-gen iPhone case in black and even a white colour. The iPhone hasn't sported a white face yet so this will be a first for Apple. We already know that the back will likely be aluminum since we've seen so many pictures and videos of it "leaked". It's good to see that Apple is going to launch two colours of the iPhone, but who knows if this will actually become a reality in a couple of weeks.

New Picture Of the Real Android-Based Samsung R880 Acclaim, Headed To US Cellular

Labels: , , , , , ,

The picture last week of the Samsung R880 Acclaim that Engadget scooped up last week looks like it was probably an earlier model. At the Google I/O event this afternoon Engadget spotted the Samsung R880 again and this one looked nothing like the one from last week meaning this is probably the final model. We already know the specs of this handset and I honestly think that this phone looks better than the one we saw last week.

Canada's Koodo Mobile Getting the BlackBerry Curve 8530 On May 25th

Labels: , , , ,

We've known for a while that Canada's Koodo Mobile will be releasing the BlackBerry Curve 8530 and we finally know when. Koodo Mobile will be launching the smartphone on May 25th for $300 contract-free or for $150 on the Tab. Sadly, it'll only be available in silver. The plans are above, but it may be a bit small for you to read. Mobile Syrup wrote it out for all of us to enjoy though - it's below.

Regarding the plans. We’ve mentioned rumours of these before but you can now see confirmation by the brochure below that will be available next week. There will be two BlackBerry Add-on to the plans at launch: Blackberry Social for $10/month that includes Unlimited BlackBerry Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, Twitter etc. The second Add-on Blackberry Connect for $25/month that gives you Up to 500MB of Email, Unlimited BlackBerry Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, Twitter etc. A Blackberry plan MUST be added on to purchase the device.

In addition, the previous unlimited web browsing for “dumb-phones” has been replaced with 50MB of data ($10 per month). There’s also a 500MB of data add on option ($25 per month), which points to the launch of SIM cards and the addition of data if you bring in a device other then a Blackberry over to Koodo… so their HSPA network is coming up soon too!

Labels: , , , ,

Well, so much for sometime after May 26th. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is now available on T-Mobile USA in a new fuchsia red colour. Of course, it's priced at $49.99 on a 2-year contract so that shouldn't be surprising. Check it out on T-Mobile's site here and buy one if you want to. Specs, of course, remain the same.

Update: According to Boy Genius, T-Mobile USA has officially announced that they'll be launching the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 on May 26th as well. This will be priced at $129.99 on a 2-year contract.

T-Mobile USA To Release the Nokia E73 "Mode" On June 16th?

Labels: , , ,

It looks like T-Mobile USA will really be launching the Nokia E73, but it won't be the Mystic like it was rumoured way back in February. Apparently, this is going to be available starting on June 16th, but the price is unknown yet. The Nokia E73 "Mode" looks similar to the E72, but there are some slight cosmetic differences. The spec sheet is still unknown so we'll have to wait for this handset to get officially announced by T-Mobile.

Samsung I5500 To Be In Genio Line-Up, To Go Head-To-Head With HTC's Wildfire

Labels: , , , ,

Apparently, Samsung is cooking up something to combat the recently announced HTC Wildfire. It'll supposedly be a part of Samsung's Genio line-up, which is quite similar to their Corby Series. The first handset in this new Android-based Genio Series is said to be the I5500, which was rumoured to be a part of their Corby line-up. These are all speculations right now, so we'll just have to wait when Samsung confirms what they need to confirm.

MSI Unveils Their CX500DX Notebook; Last Year's Core 2 Duo CPUs, This Year's ATI HD545v GPU

Labels: , ,

MSI has just announced their latest notebook, the CX500DX, and it features a 15.6-inch LED-backlit display. Inside you'll find Intel Core 2 Duo options, which is a little bit sad but you'll also get discrete ATI Mobility Radeon HD545v graphics so that's a plus. Other specs include 4GB of DDR2 RAM, 250GB / 320GB / 500GB HDD options, a DVD burner, a 4-in-1 card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, an integrated 1.3MP webcam, WiFi b/g/n, VGA output, and a 6-cell battery. Unfortunately, MSI didn't announce a price or release date for this notebook but I assume that it'll be sooner rather than later.

Vietnam Gets Their Hands On the First Prototype For an iPod Touch With a Camera! - With Video

Labels: , , , ,

I don't know how Vietnam is getting all these leaked Apple products, but Apple must be pissed at this point (unless it's controlled). This actually may not be a final product however, seeing how it has the "DVT-1" mark-up on the back. This is indicating that this model may actually be Apple's first prototype for an iPod Touch with a 2MP camera. Either way, we should be expecting the iPod Touch with a camera this year - we were expecting one last year too. Check out the video below!

Samsung Champ To Be Their Cheapest Touchscreen Phone To Date

Labels: , , , , ,

So much for Samsung's Corby line-up which is supposed to have their cheapest touchscreen phones. They've just announced the Samsung Champ and it certainly wins in the low-price category. This is apparently going to be the company's cheapest touchscreen handset, but that's just about the only good part about it.

It's sporting a 2.4-inch touchscreen display, a 1.3MP camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 2.1 support, a microSD card slot, and the Touchwiz Lite UI. This phone will be available next month (June) for hopefully under $150 USD. It's going to be launching in emerging markets in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America; it'll have a bunch of different colours including: black, white, brown, and pink.

O2 UK Releasing the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus On May 28th

Labels: , , , , ,

If you live in the UK, you can keep it at the back of your mind that you'll soon be able to get your hands on the Palm Pre Plus and the Pixi Plus. They'll both be available on O2 on May 28th. Sadly, that's the only good news here so don't be so happy yet. You'll be getting either phone free of contract (with select contracts), but the cheapest price is £25 ($36 USD) monthly on a 2-year contract which means that you might as well get a better phone - you'll also have to pay £99 ($146 USD) for the Pre Plus and £49 ($72 USD) for the Pixi Plus.

7-Inch Dawa D7 Tablet Now Going To Use Android 2.1 and Not Windows CE

Labels: , , , ,

Dawa's D7 tablet has just made an interesting change. Instead of running Windows CE, it is now set to use Android 2.1. Sadly, that's just about one of the only good aspects about this tablet. Other specs include a 7-inch touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, a 600MHz Telechips 8902 CPU, 256MB of RAM, 2GB of flash memory, a 1,500mAh battery that'll only last around 6 hours, and [likely] WiFi. We don't know a price for this tablet, but it should be cheap if they want to sell any.
