The LG "Monaco" will be launching as the LG eXpo in the USA on AT&T and will be available in Canada on Telus as the LG IQ. This Snapdragon-powered handset has a detachable pico-projector that will reportedly only be available to business customers, which definitely sucks. If you're interested in watch a video on exactly what the projector can do then click play on the video above.

More Pictures and Specs of the Viewsonic VPC08 Windows XP UMPC / Phone Hybrid; Makes the N97 Look Small.

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Well, it definitely looked a bit more desirable in the concept photos that popped up a couple of weeks ago. Today, there are more specifications on this "phone" from Viewsonic. We already know that the VPC08 has: an external 2-inch display with a numeric keypad, an internal 4.3-inch display with a full QWERTY keyboard, and a 2MP camera. In addition to all of that, it looks like it will also be outed with: 512MB of RAM, a microSD card slot, an Intel Atom Z500 800MHz CPU, Windows XP, and just a 1,200 mAh battery. This may not be enough seeing that it's running Windows XP and wants to be a phone - but it's more like a UMPC to be honest. It even makes the Nokia N97 look puny as you can see in the picture below.

Logitech Rumoured To Be Brewing Up UMD Add-On For the PSP Go

Labels: , , ,

We're hearing a new rumour that Logitech is somehow creating a PSP Go UMD add-on. Personally, I don't know how it's possible, but they're the geniuses here, not me. This would be good news for those couple of people who had an original PSP and then got the PSP Go, but it would be pretty useless to anyone else. Ehh, it's just a rumour.

First Pictures Of the Motorola Sholes Tablet Leak Out! Sports HDMI Port.

Labels: , , , , ,

What you see above is possibly the first picture ever of the Motorola Sholes Tablet. We don't know what the official name will be, but we'll just call it that for now. This smartphone will have: a 3.7-inch toucshcreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, the same TI OMAP 3430 550MHz CPU as the DROID, a 3.5mm headphone jack, UMTS/HSPA connectivity, an 8MP camera with a xenon flash, and Android 2.0 (possibly 2.1 at launch). To make things even better it sports an HDMI port!

The actual phone doesn't look quite as thrilling though. As you can see it has a blue backing and the handset itself doesn't look all that thin. Man, I'm (still) excited!

Android 2.1 Ready For Release On December 11th?

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Android 2.0 has been out for about a month on the Motorola DROID and it looks like Google is already going to release Android 2.1 in the near future - December 11th to be exact. If the rumour is true, it could be making its way to the DROID, the Droid Eris, and even the HTC Hero - as we saw in the leak the other day. This won't be that big of a change, but it should fix some problems that were found in Android 2.0.

Samsung Behold II Headed To Verizon? Samsung Giving Away Behold II's For Free!

Labels: , , , , ,

There's a new rumour going around that the Android-based Samsung Behold II will be headed to Verizon in the future. If this is true I believe this could be the first Android handset that launches on two different carriers in the US - or in the world? The HTC Hero and Droid Eris is close, but it's not the exact same phone.

If you think the phone is not worth then you should probably head over to this link. You can register for a contest where they give away free Behold II's every hour. Try to win one!

Elektrobit TerreStar Genus Smartphone Passes FCC Running WinMo 6.5, Satphone Launching On AT&T

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

What you see above is the Elektrobit TerreStar Genus smartphone. What's interesting about this handset? Well, this is going to be the first dual-mode satphone and it'll be launching on AT&T. This means that you'll get coverage virtually anywhere, but you'll probably have to pay quite a bit more monthly than usual. I guess that's the trade-off for such great coverage.

If you look at the FCC filing here you'll see that it'll be compatible with US HSPA networks. This handset, obviously, will be running Windows Mobile (likely 6.5).

Nokia Taking Symbian To a "Whole New Level" In 2010; Maemo 6 Coming In H2 2010 Too.

Labels: , , ,

From Nokia themselves, "In 2010, we will drive user experience improvements, and the progress we make will take the Symbian user interface to a new level." This means that they will likely be launching a whole new Symbian as a whole - Symbian^2 or something like that. Let's hope that Nokia does a good job tuning up this new Symbian, cause I'm always looking forward to it - especially with Samsung's Bada OS coming too.

Nokia focused on talking about what they're improving in the next Symbian, but they did mention that Maemo 6 will be available in the second half of 2010. I'm excited to see the next Symbian and Maemo 6 flaghsip handsets.

Windows Mobile 7 To Include Internet Explorer Mobile 7, Better Game Support, Zune Integration, and Silverlight Support

Labels: , , , , ,

We already know this but a LinkedIn profile (the best site for leakage) now states that this guy is working on Windows Mobile 7 and it'll have Zune integration. We also know that the next iteration of WinMo will include Silverlight support, a new navigation app, and better game support.

Although I could be a hardcore gamer, handheld gaming is just not for me. It's too boring / easy.

Update: According to Electronista, WinMo 7 will also have Internet Explorer Mobile 7 and Portable Media Center should find its way onto the mobile OS as well. WinMo 7 will include new touchscreen gestures and a new keyboard layout. It's expected to ship in the second half of 2010 and could have specific specifications from Microsoft themselves, such as a 480 x 800 resolution touchscreen display and a "high-speed OMAP processor."

Microsoft Focusing On Windows 8 Starting in July 2010

Labels: ,

If you're interested Microsoft now has a job listing where they're looking for someone who is interested in tuning up Windows Update and working on Windows 8. The listing also states that Microsoft will be strictly focusing on Windows 8 as soon as July 2010 hits, which is the start of the 2011 fiscal year. The launch is still quite a ways away, so let's just hope it's a success like Windows 7 - so far at least.

Nokia's First 12MP Cameraphone to be the Nokia N87? Comes With 3.2-Inch Capacitive Touchscreen Too

Labels: ,

A short video has just been spotted and it's regarding the Nokia N87. Of course, we've never heard about this device until now and - to follow under the N86's wing - it comes packed with a hefty camera. The Nokia N87 is rumoured to have a 12.1MP camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and both xenon and dual-LED flashes (Nokia's first), a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, and a 600MHz CPU.

As you can see in the video (below) this could be a dual-slider handset, which isn't too rare from the Nokia camp.
