Sharp Introduces the 7-Inch Galapagos Android Tablet With WiMAX

Looks like Sharp is bringing another Android tablet to the market. They have just introduced a 7-inch tablet that features a 1,024 x 600 resolution. This tablet also packs WiMAX, a 5MP camera, a front-facing 2MP camera, a Tegra 2 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and WiFi support. This tablet will have access to the company's Galapagos Store which has 40,000 newspapers, books, and comic books which is great if you like to rear. If you want to pick one up then you should keep in mind that it hits Japan on December 9th although the price is unknown right now.

Sharp Announces the Aquos Phone 104SH, Set To Run ICS and Launching In 2012

Looks like yet another superphone has been announced by Sharp, dubbed the Aquos Phone 104SH. If what we're hearing is true then it'll be quite the phone when it hits SoftBank in Japan in Spring 2012. It's set to feature a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP4460 CPU, a 4.5-inch touchscreen display with a 1,280 × 720 resolution, a 12.1MP camera with 1080p video recording, 2GB of storage, a microSDHC card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, WCDMA / GSM connectivity, an 8.7mm thin body, rugged capabilities (dust and waterproof), and Android "Ice Cream Sandwich". The specs seem too good to be true, but it looks like that's the way smartphones are headed now.

Sharp Announces the AQUOS PHONE 102SH For SoftBank In Japan

Sharp has just introduced their latest Android phone which is headed to SoftBank Mobile in Japan. This is the AQUOS PHONE 102SH which is quite rugged since it's waterproof and also features a digital TV tuner. The smartphone also packs a 4.5-inch LC 3D display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution, a 12MP camera, a dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP4430 CPU, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, DLNA, a microSDHC card slot, e-wallet, 1GB of RAM, 2.2GB of ROM, and the Android OS. Look out for it sometime in the future - though it's unknown exactly when.

Sharp Unveils the Aquos SH8298U 3D Smartphone For Japan's SoftBank

PocketNow has just mentioned that Sharp has another 3D Android smartphone on the way. Dubbed the Sharp Aquos SH8298U, this one's set to hit Japan's SoftBank carrier sometime in the future. This smartphone should feature a 1.4GHz Snapdragon CPU, Adreno 205 graphics, 512MB of RAM, a 4.2-inch qHD glasses-free 3D display, an 8MP 3D camera, and Android 2.3. Sharp should bring some of their 3D smartphones on this side of the world.

Sharp's 7-Inch Galapagos A01SH Tablet Powered By Tegra 2, Hitting US This Year

Looks like Sharp will actually be bringing one of their tablets to the US this year. It's going to be what you see above which is the 7-inch Galapagos A01SH. This tablet packs a 1,024 x 600 resolution, a Tegra 2 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 5MP camera, a front-facing 2MP camera, and a 7.5-hour battery life. This tablet has a 12.9mm thin body so it's not the thinnest on the market. Price for this one is unknown right now but I'm sure that it'll leak before it gets released.

Sharp FX Plus With "Froyo" Headed To AT&T

Walmart has just leaked something that should be headed to AT&T. Yup, it looks like it'll be the Sharp FX Plus which looks like it'll feature Android 2.2. This 3.2-inch smartphone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard should be launching soon and should actually be cheap as well. It might be something good for you text messaging folk out there.

Yet another tablet from Sharp has just hit the FCC and this is another Android-based Galapagos one. This one's the EB-W51GJ which features a 7-inch display, WiFi b/g/n support, and the Android OS of course. We don't know when this one will actually launch but it has a shot of hitting North America now. Check it out at the FCC.

Sharp SH8188U To Be Announced Soon With "Gingerbread"

Sharp looks like they're almost set to launch their latest Android handset, the SH8188U. It's pictured above and it's said to feature a WVGA LCD display, a 5MP camera with an LED flash, a front-facing camera, a 1GHz CPU, an HDMI output, and Android 2.3.4. These pictures make the phone look cheap so hopefully Sharp touches it up for the press photos. The handset could be capable of running in North America but it packs 900/2100MHz bands for Europe / Asia so we'll have to wait for another model.

Japan Getting the 3D Sharp Aquos SH-12C Android Smartphone, 4.2-Inch qHD Display and 1.4GHz CPU

It's not the best looking Android phone out there but this one's actually packing some pretty good specs if you're into 3D. Dubbed the Sharp Aquos SH-12C, this one will be available in Japan on NTT DoCoMo but we have no clue if it'll hit anywhere else.

Specs for this smartphone include a 4.2-inch 3D display (540 x 960 resolution), a 1.4GHz single-core CPU, 512MB of RAM, a 1Seg TV tuner, dual 8MP 3D cameras on the back, and Android 2.3. This smartphone will reportedly be up for pre-order on May 14th and it'll be shipping on the 20th. This one may hit the US though since Sharp did tell us that they'd be bringing a 3D phone to us.

Another carrier has agreed to sell the leftover Sidekick LX that they still have somewhere in the world. The handset is now available as the Sharp Jump on Cincinnati Bell in the US for $39.99 on a 2-year contract or for $149.99 contract-free. Amazon Already Taking Pre-Orders For the Nintendo 3DS, Will Cost You $249

They're now taking pre-orders for the Nintendo 3DS which will be available on March 27th in the US - March 25th in Europe. 5.5 and 10.8-Inch Sharp Galapagos Tablets Hit the FCC With Linux-Based OS

Sharp has already announced that their own Galapagos Android tablets would be hitting the US we just don't know exactly when it will be. Of course, knowing that information we were just anticipating that it would hit the FCC and the 5.5 and 10.8-inch models have done just that. Both of these tablets are running on Freescale CPUs and also feature SDRAM from Samsung. In the test photos, these tablets were running on a Linux-based OS and you can clearly tell that it's not running Android (below). However, they'd both be pretty good at surfing the web and maybe reading a few books. I can't see this taking up a huge market to be honest. It looks like Sharp has finally decided to price and date their Galapagos tablets that we heard about back in September. The 5.5-inch model (1,024 x 600 resolution) and the 10.8-inch model (1,366 x 800 resolution) will be hitting Japan on December 10th for ¥39,800 ($474 USD) and ¥54,800 ($653 USD), respectively, which is a bit much to pay for. The displays - on paper - for both devices seem quite good though so if you're interested in quite an expensive Android tablet then you might want to give this one a few looks.

Sharp Intros the Galapagos 003SH and 005SH Glasses-Free 3D Android-Based Smartphones

Oh, so you love 3D, you say? Well, if you're willing to head to Japan you can check out the newly introduced Sharp Galapagos 003SH and 005SH smartphones. Both of them are glasses-free 3D Android phones that are headed to Japan's Softbank carrier. The 003SH sports a 3.8-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, and a 9.6MP camera with 720p HD video recording. The 005SH sports the same display and CPU but sports a slide-out QWERTY keyboard along with just an 8MP camera with 720p HD video recording. The 003SH will be available in December of this year while you'll have to wait until February for the 005SH.

If you're actually interested in getting an Android-based Sharp IS01 MID then you're in luck. If you live in the US, you can pick it up right now for $246 on Conics. This MID packs a QWERTY keyboard along with a 5-inch multitouch display, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, WiFi b/g / Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a front-facing camera, and, unfortunately, version 1.6 of the OS. It also comes with a 1-Seg TV tuner and some Japanese 3G connectivity so you'll be stuck with using this one over WiFi if you pick one up.

KDDI Introduces the Toshiba IS04 (With a 12MP Camera), Sharp IS05, and Pantech IS06

KDDI has just shown off three Android phones that they'll be launching in the future. The first one is coming from Toshiba, dubbed the REGZA IS04, and it looks like a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10. This smartphone packs some pretty high-end specs like a 4-inch touchscreen display (480 x 854 resolution), a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, and a whopping 12.2MP AF camera on the back which is one of the highest we've seen on an Android smartphone thus far. Other specs include WiFi b/g / Bluetooth 2.1 support, a microSDHC card slot, EVDO connectivity, Android 2.1, and it's even waterproof. Sadly, you'll have to wait until January 2011 if you want to get your hands on one.

Next up is the Sharp IS05 which sports a 3.4-inch touchscreen display with a 480 x 854 resolution, an 8MP camera with 720p HD video recording, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, Bluetooth / WiFi support, a 1Seg TV tuner, a microSDHC card slot, and Android 2.2. Last, but not least, there's the Pantech IS06 which will also launch with Froyo. Other specs include a 3.4-inch display with a  480 x 800 resolution along with a 1Seg TV tuner, a microSDHC card slot, and a 5MP camera. This one will be available in December.

Sharp Announces the Galapagos, Comes In 5.5 and 10.8-Inch Tablet Models

This morning Sharp has just announced two of their tablets / e-book readers, dubbed the Galapagos. The "Mobile Type" model is smaller, sporting a 5.5-inch LCD touchscreen display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution and sports a trackball for some extra navigation. The larger "Home Type" model doesn't have a trackball but it does sport a larger 10.8-inch LCD display with a 1,366 x 800 resolution so you'll have to use your fingers to scroll through the pages.

Both of these Galapagos devices have WiFi b/g support, games (via apps), a pre-installed social app, and some version of Android. This is expected to hit the Japanese market in December of this year. It's not exactly the biggest splash of the year, but it should be a decent device.

Sharp has announced something great today if you live in the US and you're looking for a new 3DTV. At CEDIA 2010 (which is taking place right now), the company has just announced that their AQUOS Quattron 3DTV is now available in the US if you're looking for something to make your living room stand out. The 52-inch model (LE925) is available for $4,199, while the larger 60-inch model will cost you $5,299. In the box you'll be getting two pair of glasses - that can convert the 3D content to 2D if that's what you really want - so you'll be able to enjoy 3D with whoever you want. These 3DTVs pack an 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio, an Ethernet port, an optional WiFi adapter, and 2D to 3D conversion. Head over to the store and get one now!

Nintendo 3DS Specs Leak? Two ARM11 CPUs Inside

Some rumoured specs for the Nintendo 3DS have just been published by IGN. Apparently, Nintendo's next gaming console will sport two 266MHz ARM11 CPUs, a 133MHz CPU, 4MB of dedicated VRAM, 64MB of RAM, 1.5GB of internal flash storage, and the SD card slot for additional storage. These will be a decently powerful handheld coming from Nintendo. These are just rumoured specs right now so don't be too let down if the 3DS doesn't exactly pack all these goodies.

Now, where are those rumoured PSP2 specs?

Sharp Unveils 60-Inch Quattron 3DTV At IFA, Glasses Required

At IFA, Sharp has unveiled something that a couple of people might be interested. It's the company's first 3DTV using their own Quattron technology which adds yellow as a primary colour (in addition to red, green, and blue). The 3DTV is a 60-inch model which will feature Super Edge LED backlighting and Aquos Net Plus with access to Flickr and YouTube. Sadly, you'll need active shutter glasses to see the 3D content. In the UK, this will cost £3,500 ($5,385 USD) but the release date wasn't mentioned. This could be launched in the US but the price and release date are still TBA. We might see it again at CES though.
