2009 NBA All-Star Game
Since MWC 2009 doesn't start until February 16, i might as well talk about something that is actually happening this weekend. The NBA All-Star Game. I'll be updating this for most of the night.
Detroit Pistons have just won the Shooting Stars Challenge.
The next challenge coming up is the Skills Challenge. The contestants are: Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs), Mo Williams (Cleveland Cavaliers), Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls) and Devin Harris (New Jersey Nets). Mo Williams recently mentioned that he is guaranteeing a win tonight. I'm going for Devin Harris, even though i don't like him very much. Up first is Devin Harris. He finishes in 36.9 seconds. Remember here, that the lower your seconds are, the better your score is. Up second is Mo Williams. He finishes in 37.5 seconds. I don't know why he took his time so much and he also didn't pull through with his so-called 'guaranteed' win. Anyways, up third is Derrick Rose. He finishes in 33.3 seconds. Up fourth, and last, is Tony Parker. He finishes in 50.8 seconds. On a side note, Eva Longoria looks gorgeous in the crowd, smiling at Parker's poor performance. The announcer mentioned that she's a good consolation prize. Since the top 2 advance, it looks like it's going to be Devin Harris and Derrick Rose in the finals. Devin Harris is first, i hope he does good. He finishes in 39.7 seconds. He had some trouble with the bounce pass and the 23-foot jumper. Uh-oh. Derrick Rose is up second and he finishes in 35.3 seconds. He ends it off with a reverse slam. Derrick Rose is the winner of the Skills Challenge.
The next challenge is the 3-point Competition. I'm rooting for Jason Kapono, he's defending his title. He's won the 3-point Competition for 2 years in a row now. The contestants are: Jason Kapono (Toronto Raptors), Rashard Lewis (Orlando Magic), Mike Bibby (Atlanta Hawks), Daequan Cook (Miami Heat), Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers) and Roger Mason (San Antonio Spurs). Rashard Lewis is up first and he scores 17. His first 2 racks were terrible, so he didn't have much rhythm. He picked it up in the middle rack. Up second is Bibby and he scores 14. Up third is Daequan Cook and he scores 18, even though the TV said 20 for a second. Up fourth is Danny Granger and he scores 13, he's out. Up next is Roger Mason and he also scores 13. Up next is the two-time champion Jason Kapono. He scores 16, so he advances. The 3 finals are: Rashard Lewis, Daequan Cook and Jason Kapono. Up first is Jason Kapono and he starts off pretty good. He only scores 14. Rashard Lewis is second and he scores 15. Daequan Cook is up and going for the win. He ties is up at 15! So, it's Rashard Lewis and Daequan Cook in a tie-break. Sad to see Kapono go though =(. Anyways, Lewis is up first in the tie-break and he doesn't make anything in the first two racks. He ends up with a pathetic 7. Kapono should have won. Anyways, Cook wins the competition on the second rack already. He ends up with 19. Daequan Cook wins the 3-point competition spoiling Kapono's supposed 3-peat.
Up next is the Slam Dunk Competition. The contestants are: Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic), Nate Robinson (New York Knicks), Rudy Fernandez (Portland Trail Blazers) and J.R. Smith (Denver Nuggets).

Valentine's Day, BBC Watches People Fall Down Icy Steps, Midway Owes $283,033,000, NBA All-Star Game
BBC aimed a camera outside this London Waterloo Station in England to catch people falling down the icy steps. It doesn't snow in England very often, so this is probably something that won't happen again for a while. A bunch of people fell down these icy steps and i really felt sorry for them as i watched the video... Okay, i lied. It was funny. You can watch the video here, via BBC News.
As Midway files for bankruptcy, there is a list here of how much they owe and to what company. Of the $283,033,000 that they owe, about $150,000,000 are owed to Wells Fargo Bank. Brutal. Looks like they have the "most to lose" in this situation.
I am now watching the NBA All-Star Game, just in case you wanted to know.

See 5 Planets This Month!, Soulbound Rings For V-Day, Guild Wars 2 Delayed, Windows 7 Build 7022 Leaks
As you may or may not know, today is Valentine's Day. If you click the link, you will see that the inner part of the ring says 'Soulbound'. In World of Warcraft, that means you can't trade it, give it to anyone else or sell it at the Auction House. Since it is 'Soulbound' i guess you will still be able to sell these at vendors Pawn Shops. I wish they had these at the store, it would've been the go-to present for me to give to someone. But, then she wouldn't understand what 'Soulbound' means.
All you Guild Wars fans out there, i have some bad news. Guild Wars 2 will be delayed. It will be released in 2010 - 2011. The date is not finalized yet. NCsoft, the makers of Guild Wars, "saw increased sales but a 40 percent drop in profit this last year." This Guild Wars delay could put them in some trouble. The first Guild Wars had to battle against WoW which is made by Blizzard. Now, Guild Wars 2 may also get face-planted Blizzard's next MMO. Hopefully, Guild Wars 2 will be able to pull through, even though everything Blizzard creates is just solid Gold.
The newest Windows 7 build is now up illegally on torrent sites. Build 7022 has a couple of benefits over Build 7000, such as: Internet Explorer RC1, new icons and animations, start menu's search is more responsive, but there are still some flaws that Microsoft has still got to work on. I'd get it, but i could possibly go over my 95GB limit. I may download it later this month (on Family Day). Oh yeah, you may have also noticed that i put "95GB limit", instead of the standard 60GB that i always talk about. Well, my mom recently argued with the Rogers guy on the phone because we always go over. And he gave us Rogers Hi-Speed Extreme free-of-charge, an upgrade from Rogers Hi-Speed Express.
