There's not really much left to tell you that the title hasn't already but, yes, the HTC Trophy has just hit the FCC and it's destined for Verizon in the US. This handset is sporting a 3.8-inch touchscreen display, 8GB of internal storage, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, aGPS, and Windows Phone 7. We don't know exactly when this handset will be available but it should be soon since CDMA WP7 devices should be launching before the first half of the year. However, the launch may be trumped by the Verizon iPhone which will get announced in a few days.

MSI has just announced their latest two tablets and it's the WindPad 100W and 100A. They're both sporting 10-inch displays and the "W" stands for Windows 7, while the "A" stands for Android. So, the 100W features an Intel Atom Z530 1.66GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD, and an HDMI port. Furthermore, Engadget tested this tablet out and mentioned that it was "seriously laggy and unresponsive". Windows 7 on a tablet is clearly not going to work.
The other model is the 100A which features an ARM Cortex A8 CPU, 1GB of RAM, access to the Android Market, and Android 2.2. Sadly, these specs are definitely behind in the Android tablet world which is about to be flooded with Tegra 2 along with Android 3.0 "Honeycomb". You can look past both of these underwhelming tablets from the company.

Next iPad Announcement To Be In 3 - 4 Weeks Says Kevin Rose, Will Have Higher Resolution Display and Dual Cameras

Kevin Rose has just made a few claims regarding the next iPad from Apple. Apple is reportedly expected to announce their next iPad in 3 - 4 weeks and it will feature a Retina Display and dual-cameras. This is likely just an announcement with a launch following up within a few months. If the "Retina Display" is true, then the 9.7-inch iPad will have a 2,048 x 1,536 resolution which seems absolutely insane - in a good way! It seems to good to be true though, but you should expect a higher resolution display than the first model. We'll see if this pans out to be true.
Update: Kevin Rose updated his blog post to say that the iPad will have a "higher resolution" display and not a Retina Display. Of course, it was too good to be true.

RIM Working On Dual-Core QNX-Powered BlackBerrys, Probably Won't Hit the Market Until Quad-Core Phones Exist

RIM is obviously deep into testing in many different products that they should have ready for this year - likely including a new Bold, Curve, and PlayBook. They're also reaching a bit into their future as well because they're apparently testing out dual-core QNX-powered BlackBerrys too - at least that's what RIM's Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis has said. Unfortunately, these won't be hitting the market anytime soon because current dual-core CPUs use too much battery life, which seems true. RIM is working on a way where they can keep their device's battery life up while being speed-hungry as well.

Samsung Canada has just announced that their Infuse 4G smartphone will be hitting Canada - we just don't know when or on what carrier. This smartphone will be hitting AT&T in the USA and will likely be hitting Rogers here in Canada. This smartphone packs a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED+ display, a 1.2GHz Hummingbird CPU, an 8MP camera with an LED flash and 1080p HD video recording capabilities, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth / WiFi support, and Android 2.2 with the Touchwiz UI. I'm just guessing that it'll be hitting Rogers so hopefully the carrier will have their HSPA+ network ready for it.

Verizon Holding An Event On Tuesday, January 11th; It's For the iPhone!
A lot of websites are getting an invite to join Verizon Wireless at the Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City. They'll be holding this event on Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 at 11:00am. Yup, everyone's assuming that this will finally be when Verizon and Apple announce the iPhone that everyone will flock to. I just feel so bad for AT&T at this point. The Verizon iPhone announcement is just a few days away, folks! And Canadians can relax because we [likely] won't be getting it.
Update: Even the WSJ and All Things D has said that this will be an iPhone announcement and Steve Jobs should be at the event!

LG's G-Slate Tablet Gets FCC Approval With T-Mobile 3G Bands
Something named the LG V909 has just hit the FCC and Engadget is assuming it's the G-Slate which was just announced a few days ago. This tablet reportedly features T-Mobile AWS 3G connectivity so that pretty much confirms that this is it. Look out for the launch which should be in the next few weeks! If you have time to kill then check it out at the FCC.
