Android-Based HTC Incredible Spotted In Verizon's Inventory System

Labels: , , , , ,

Well, it looks like a new and juicy Android handset has just been spotted in Verizon's inventory systems. It's the HTC Incredible which could be a CDMA variant of the HTC Desire. This one's weird because the Desire is already similar to the Nexus One and we already know that Verizon is getting the Nexus One later this year. We'll just have to see how all of this unfolds.

Nokia N97 Mini Gold Edition Launching This Year For €625 Or $850 USD

Labels: ,

The Nokia N97 Mini looks like it just got another model, this time the Gold Edition. This model comes with 18-carat gold and is actually directed towards rich girls seeing how it has pre-installed apps like ELLE 360Fashion. The specs, of course, stay the same so that includes: a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with a 360 x 640 resolution, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, WiFi / HSPA connectivity, GPS support, 8GB of internal storage, a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This handset will be available in the future (exact release date wasn't mentioned) for €625 or $850 USD depending on where you are.

Android 1.5-Based Acer beTouch E110 Passes the FCC

Labels: , , , ,

The Acer beTouch E110 has just passed the FCC (filing here) and it's compatible with AT&T 3G in the US and Rogers in Canada. This entry-level Android handset has some underwhelming specs like a tiny 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, Android 1.5, and an ST Ericsson PNX6715 416MHz CPU. Other specs include GPS support, 256MB of ROM / RAM, social integration, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Don't forget that this handset will be available in March and the price shouldn't be all that expensive.

Nintendo DSi XL Hitting North America On March 28th!

Labels: , , , , ,

It looks like the date is set and it'll touch down in North America right before Q1 ends. On March 28th, the US will be getting it for $189.99 - $20 more than the original DSi - and Canada will be getting it as well. Of course, as usual the price for the Canadian version wasn't mentioned. I'm going to assume that it'll be available for $199.99 in Canada since that's $20 more than the $179.99 price tag on the original DSi right now.

Sony Bravia LX900 3D HDTV Sets Now On Display In Sony Style Stores, Taking Pre-Orders

Labels: , , ,

I've already tested out one of the 3D Bravia's at the Sony Style store here in Eaton's Centre - in Toronto - but I'm unsure what model it was. The LX900 that they unveiled at CES looks like it is actually on display in the 42 Sony Style stores in the US. This 52-inch 3D TV (XBR-52LX900) will require 3D glasses which are pretty expensive so you probably won't be enjoying 3D in your home by the end of this year. You can actually pre-order these now though, if you want.

iPads of the Future Will Have Front-Facing Cameras With an LED Flash

Labels: , , ,

Let's face it, the first generation of the Apple iPad didn't live up to expectations. The big problem with the first-gen model is that it won't have any cameras on-board, but that looks like it will change in the second-gen model. We've known about these rumours for a while now so this shouldn't be news to you. Although it's not 100% confirmed at this point, we're pretty certain that it will since Apple's inboxes should be flooding with complaints.

In the boolean in the new iPad SDK 3.2 Beta 3 it was spotted that there's a hasFrontCamera and hasFlash lines of code. Of course, this is referring to a front-facing webcam and an LED flash of some sort. Above is what the accepting and declining of the calls will be like. Everyone should just wait for this.

Well, Philips has announced another one of their upcoming PMPs this morning. This one's being dubbed the GoGear Connect and will be running on Android 2.1. The spec sheet for this PMP is quite unknown, but it should be available in Q3 2010, when a newer version of Android should be out.

LG Accidentally Spills the Details On Their HDTV Launches

Labels: , , , ,

LG seemed to leak their HDTV plans a bit ahead of time. Those TVs we saw from them at CES? They'll be launching in March. We'll also see HDTVs equipped with Skype with 720p capabilities, 3D TVs, and even 3D Blu-ray players launch soon as well. The 3D Blu-ray player (BD580) is expected in April of this year. 47-inch LEX8 and LEX9 with 480Hz technology should be making their debut this year and will have around a 0.27-inch thin body so that's not bad at all - considering that there'll be a large 72-inch model. That announcement was pulled by LG themselves but we should see it published again soon.

Update: According to Slash Gear, LG plans to launch the LX9500 3D-ready HDTV in mid-May. Along with that there'll also be another 3D model, the LX6500 as well.

Windows Phone 7 Series Phones To Have Three Different Designs

Labels: , , ,

We've seen Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Series mobile OS at MWC and now we're hearing that the hardware will come in 3 different designs or chassis. The first one is the most obvious, just the traditional candybar form with a large, nice touchscreen display. Another design is said be like a Palm Treo, so it'll sport a QWERTY keypad on the front with a small touchscreen display on there as well. The third one isn't confirmed but we'll definitely see it at MIX 2010 later this year. Some people are guessing that it'll be a large touchscreen display with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, but it's not certain.

Best Buy To Have Apple iPads In Stores Starting In Late March

Labels: , , , , ,

Like their laptops and desktops, it looks like Apple is looking to sell their iPads at your local Best Buy in the future. This is good news for those who don't like to order stuff online - or just like visiting Best Buy's on a daily basis. I assume that all six models will be available at Best Buy, so there's no need to worry. They should invade Best Buy in late March.

Acer Launching Android 2.1-Based Ferrari Phone In March

Labels: , , ,

Acer already has their Ferrari notebook line-up and it looks like they'll be launching a new Ferrari phone sometime in March 2010. This handset will sport Android 2.1 but that's all we know about it right now. Any other information should be available fairly soon. Hopefully it'll just sport a large touchscreen display on the front.

16GB Nokia X6 Now Available Unlocked In the US For $455

Labels: , ,

If you're waiting for the Nokia X6 in the USA then you're wait is over. The 16GB model is now available unlocked in the US for $455 at Nokia's online store. This price is less than the N97 and the N97 Mini so that's great news. Don't forget that the display here is capacitive which everyone knows is better than resistive at this point. You can purchase it here and it'll ship by the end of this month. If you want to wait, Amazon has the phone up for $401.99, but it's not available yet.
