LG LU2300 Android Handset To Hit Korean Market In Q2, Nexus One-Like Specs

Labels: , , , ,

LG could be looking at Korea to launch an Android device of their own, more specifically, the LU2300. Apparently, this handset will be packing a WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, a 5MP camera with 720p video recording, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, and Android 2.1. The specs are definitely quite impressive - although they match a couple of handsets out there like the Nexus One - but it could make a big splash in Korea. We should know more about this handset quite soon since the launch will be taking place in Q2 of this year.

LG Cookie Fresh (GS290) and the GT400 Scoped Out at CeBIT

Labels: , , , ,

A new cheap handset from LG has just been spotted at CeBIT, it's the Cookie Fresh. This handset will be packing a 3-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 2MP camera, an FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, social integration, and the S-Class UI. The price should be inexpensive considering that this handset will be a part of their Cookie line-up.

Another handset has made a brief appearance at CeBIT as well. The LG GT400 seems to be another inexpensive handset that should be available in the Spring or Summer of this year. This one will be packing a 3-inch touchscreen display along with a 5MP camera and the S-Class UI

MSI Show Off Their First Notebooks Using Nvidia Optimus Technology

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

MSI has just shown off their first notebooks at CeBIT that will use the new Nvidia Optimus technology. There'll be two models right now, the 14-inch FX400 and the 15.6-inch FX600. Both of them will have GeForce 300M graphics cards and I'm actually liking the way they look. MSI has the tendency to use their boring old models over and over again so I'm actually loving this new look that they've come up with. Inside you'll find the Core i5 CPU and up to 4GB of RAM. The release details and pricing hasn't been mentioned yet, so you can just adore the pictures for now.

Palm Looking To Save Themselves With WiMAX WebOS Phone This Year

Labels: , , , ,

As you may or may not know, Palm (Pre Plus pictured above) is currently on life support and they need to do something drastic to save themselves. One options is to sell themselves but they're not looking to go down that path - right Nokia? Apparently, Palm's looking to launch a crazy phone sometime this year with [Sprint] WiMAX built-in. Hopefully they're going to go all-out on this handset because it could be the death of webOS very soon. Could the rumours be true?

A couple of new Lenovo notebooks are now shipping which is definitely cool-beans. They include the X201 and X201s (here), the X201t (here), and the G455 and G555 (here). Intel Updating Their Classmate PC With Pine Trail Atom CPUs

Labels: , , , , ,

It looks like Intel is about to update their Classmate PC targeted at young kids. They'll be sporting the new Pine Trail line-up of Atoms (likely the N450 / N470). Don't worry though because it's still water-resistant with an anti-microbial keyboard, and it's said to be slightly slimmer than the old model. Of course, it has HDD-protection, a nice handle, a webcam, an accelerometer, a touchscreen swiveling display, a microphone, and a rubber bottom. The price hasn't been mentioned so maybe you should wait for that.

Asus Make Their 9-Inch DR-900 E-Book Reader Official

There's no video on just how responsive it is, but it looks like the display is limited to just black and white - which is a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for.

INS Mobile Shows Off iVIDI PMP Packing 3.3-Inch AMOLED Display In Korea

Labels: , , , ,

I've never heard of this company either. INS Mobile from somewhere in Korea has just unveiled the iVIDI PMP which is what you see above. This PMP is packing a respectable spec sheet though. It's got a 3.3-inch WQVGA AMOLED touchscreen display (480 x 272 resolution), a microSD card slot, a T-DMB TV tuner, mp4 video support, WiFi, radio, a G-Sensor / accelerometer, and QSound technology. Apparently this thing can be used as an e-book reader but I don't really know who would want to read on a tiny 3.3-inch screen.

Asus Show Off Bang & Olufsen Infused Notebooks Again; Eee Keyboard PC Delayed Until April

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Asus looks like they've shown off their Bang & Olufsen notebooks again. The one above is the N73, but they've also unveiled the N43 and the N63 (below). The N73 is said to feature USB 3.0 ports, Intel Core ix Series CPU options, and Bang & Olufsen ICEpower audio support. Asus didn't stop there though, since they're also demoing their VG236H and PG276H Full HD 3D displays. Those haven't been pictured right now and the details on them are still being kept on the down-low. Before CeBIT ends we should know more about them.

And yes, the Eee Keyboard PC from Asus looks like it's getting delayed again. The new target date is said to be April... These delays remind me of Blizzard and StarCraft II.

Panasonic Unveils World's Lightest 12.1-Inch Notebook Tablet, the Toughbook C1 With Core i5 CPU

Labels: , , , , , ,

Panasonic has just announced what they believe is world's lightest notebook tablet. It weighs just 3.2 pounds and manages to have some sort of rugged edge about it as well which is pretty impressive. The Toughbook C1 has a Core i5-520 2.4GHz CPU, a 250GB HDD (rugged), a 12.1-inch multitouch LED-backlit display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, WiFi a/b/g/n, a Qualcomm Gobi chipset, and Windows 7. Apparently, this notebook tablet will be able to shrug off 30-inch drops since it's got a triple-hinge design - whatever that is.

The Panasonic Touchbook C1 doesn't come cheap though since it's got a starting price of $2,499. It's scheduled to launch in June of this year, but damn, that's a hefty price tag.

Gigabyte Unveils Android-Based G1305 Codfish and WinMo 6.5-Based Dual-SIM GSmart S1205 Cougar Handsets

Labels: , , , , ,

Well, what do we have here? It looks like two new handsets from Gigabyte have decided to unearth itself. What you see above is the Android-based G1305 Codfish. What you see below is the GSmart S1205 Cougar which looks better than the Codfish. This handset is said to sport a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE connectivity, WiFi / GPS support, 128MB of RAM, a 416MHz CPU, and Windows Mobile 6.5. One great thing about this handset is that it'll supposedly support dual-SIMs. The release details haven't been mentioned for either phone so you can wait around for those if you'd like.

Nvidia Makes the ION 2 Official, Calls It the Next-Gen ION Instead

Labels: , , , , , , ,

It's just been made official. Although it's not officially being called the Nvidia Ion 2 it's definitely the newer model - not necessarily much faster though. This new ION will feature their new Optimus automatic graphic switching technology which was made to save your battery life. Everything you need to know is below to be honest so I don't have to go through much for you. What it doesn't mention is that it'll handle 1080p Blu-ray / Flash output easily. Nvidia mentioned that there'll be 30 more ION netbooks, nettops, and all-in-one PCs before the Summer (probably ends not begins). Some of these products include the 1201PN, Eee Top 2010PNT, Lenovo C200, and the newer Acer Aspire Revo models.

Keep in mind that this could be what the MacBook Pros will use in their refresh - whenever that happens.

  • The platform comes on a PCI Express card
  • ION systems will typically have 512MB of dedicated memory and HDMI output
  • Supports netbooks with 10 and 12 inch screens
  • The 10 inch model has 8 CPU cores, while the 12 inch version has 16
  • The reason the 10 inch chip is less powerful is because there’s a tighter space with less thermal cooling in smaller netbooks
  • Next-gen ION chips will support Optimus technology for automatic graphics switching, which means better battery life
  • Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo, and Zotac are among the launch partners with netbooks, all-in-one desktops, and nettops built around next-generation ION
  • Next-generation ION systems should be priced about the same as first generation ION computers
  • It’s not called ION 2

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Thanks to this T-Mobile USA leak it looks like the HTC HD2's pricing was just revealed. If the screen show above is to be believed then the HTC HD2 will be available for $199.99 on a 2-year contract and $449.99 contract-free which isn't as bad as I expected. This handset should be launching sometime this month, so you don't have to wait much longer!

Update: I forgot to mention that the picture above also mentions that the Motorola Cliq XT could launch on T-Mobile USA for $129.99 on a 2-year contract and $329.99 contract-free.

Update: According to Unwired View, the Nokia Nuron (5230) will be launching for $69.99 on 2-year contract and $179.99 contract-free.

Nokia's Dual-SIM Handset To Sport S40, QWERTY Keyboard and Touchscreen Display

Labels:

We already know that Nokia is set to launch a dual-SIM handset sometime this year. Apparently, it'll also sport a QWERTY keyboard as well, which is also no surprise. I think the big surprise here is that the handset will sport a touchscreen display. Unfortunately, that's all we know since Nokia hasn't unveiled it yet.

Labels: , , , ,

You may faintly remember the Archos 9 tablet that was running a full Windows 7 OS. It seemed pretty good on paper but it was delayed a bunch of times and price was somewhat expensive. The good news here is that Archos is already looking to update this tablet to include a 1.2GHz CPU that will have HyperThreading support. Other changes are said to be integrated 3G connectivity, and a capacitive touchscreen display. These updates are scheduled to take place in the Summer of this year - the price hasn't been mentioned though.

Rogers Launching the Samsung Galaxy (I5700) Spica For $79.99 Soon

Labels: , , , , , ,

Apparently, Rogers could be launching the Samsung Galaxy two to three weeks from now. I don't really know why Rogers is thinking about launching this phone since it's just about 9 months old at this point. Anyways, this handset is rocking a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, and it's a bit behind since it's still stuck with Android 1.5. Bell Mobility already has this handset available and it's only going for $49.95 right now, so I'm assuming that if Rogers launches this handset it'll be at around the same price - or $99 since that's what Bell had it for at launch.

Update: It's official. Rogers will really be launching the Galaxy, but it's actually the I5700 Galaxy Spica and not the I7500 Galaxy that's available on Bell. At least there's some variety here. Unfortunately, this model is worse than the I7500 since the camera's downgraded to just 3.2MP. Cross your fingers though because it could launch with Android 2.0, if you don't pray enough you'll be stuck with version 1.5. [Mobile Syrup]

Update: According to another Mobile Syrup post, Rogers will be launching this handset for $79.99 on a 2-year contract and $449.99 contract-free.
