It's finally official. Nokia has just announced the C5 which is their first handset in the C-Series. It's sporting a 2.2-inch QVGA display, a 3.2MP camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, aGPS support, an FM radio, HSDPA / HSUPA connectivity, 50MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a battery life that should last 12 hour of talk time and 26 days of standby time, and S60 version 3. It's definitely an entry-level offering especially since it's got a simple candybar design. This handset will be available for €135 ($182 USD) in Q2 of this year.

Nokia C5 Leaks In Pictures, Possible Nokia C3 Candidate As Well
Aww, shucks. I had high hopes for Nokia since they're set to launch their new C Series of handsets. Sadly, the first one was leaked out earlier today, known as the Nokia C5. Unfortunately, it's a candybar dumbphone which has mid-end / entry-level written all over it. The specs include a 2.2-inch QVGA display, HSDPA / HSUPA connectivity, a 3.2MP camera, 50MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, aGPS support, an FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Symbian S60 FP2.
Update: According to Fone Arena, the handset you see below could be the Nokia C3. It's supposedly got a QWERTY keypad (like the E71 / E72) and it's also packing a grotesque 5MP camera on the back.

Nokia Announcing New Non-Revolutionary Phones On January 26th
Thanks to recent tweets from Eldar Murtazin (from Mobile-Review) we're hearing that Nokia is set to announce some new phones on January 26th which is on Tuesday of next week. Right now we don't know what they'll be but "they won't be revolutionary" according to him. Maybe it's the Nokia C3 and C5 we just heard about yesterday.

Leaked Nokia C3 and C5 Handsets; No Pictures and Barely Any Details
Way back in July, we heard that Nokia would be launching a new Series of phones, a C Series. Today, Fone Arena has noticed two leaked handsets the Nokia C3 and C5. We don't know the full spec sheet of either handset, but we do know that they'll both have quad-band GSM connectivity and Bluetooth support, which is pretty standard these days. The C3 will also have WiFi and the C5 has UMTS + HSDPA / HSUPA connectivity.
Maybe Nokia will be announcing these handsets around the time where MWC starts - since they won't be attending - to crush the whole party if they can.

Back in mid-July, we heard that Nokia could be launching a new X Series - and C Series. This announcement is expected to be, well, announced at Nokia World next week. The latest rumour suggests that the X Series will be replace the XpressMusic brand, which isn't exactly impossible. There are actually a lot of rumours floating around right now, especially one about a Nokia N920 - somewhat a successor to the still unannounced Nokia N900 tablet. If you want to read all of the rumours, just check out the link below.

Nokia already has their N-series and E-series mobile phones out there, but it looks like they're planning to expand their line-up with a new series called the C-series. On April 14, Nokia filed a patent for "Cseries." At this point, no one knows what this line-up could consist of - but it could be just about anything you can think of. It could be a new series for their future: Android-based handsets, netbooks, Symbian 2 handsets, "Linux/Maemo based smart devices", or even mobile phones utilizing Synaptics capacitive multi-touchscreen displays. Basically, anything is possible at this point.
My speculating may not be too accurate, but I'm sure Nokia will spill their guts on this new "Cseries" at this year's Nokia World 2009, set to take place this September.
Update on July 19th: According to The Symbian Blog, Nokia looks like they could also be launching a new Xseries as well. We still don't know what either of these series' will contain, but let's hope that we see some new devices in September at Nokia World. Click on the picture below to enlarge it, if you'd like.
