New Year's Eve!, Time Square's New Year's Ball

Labels:

So, today is New Year's Eve and i actually don't have much to talk about, but i'm really bored. Today, i woke up at around 2 p.m. after winning the bet between me and my girlfriend last night. She ended up sleeping at around 6:45 a.m. and, since i won, i made her say, "You are the king of nocturnal-ness." Lol, well, yes so i won, just like i predicted. Anyways, i've been awake for just over 3 hours now and, as i said earlier, i am bored. I was playing Hot Shots Golf Fore! a little bit earlier, but i can't play right now because i won't finish my tournament, since i have to leave in about 5 minutes for church (Yes, on New Year's Eve).

I don't really have much to talk about, so i figured i might as well talk about the New Year's ball. Tonight's New Year's ball that drops in Times Square will have 3 times more LED's than last year's ball and will still somehow manage to be 20% more energy efficient. As you can see in the timeline above, these are the transformations that the Times Square New Year's ball has gone through in the last 100 years. Gizmodo.com states that, "To celebrate the century-old tradition, the new ball will stay on display all year long in Times Square." So, yup, that's my short blog today. I'm, most likely, off to Aldric's house later, so i will be back New Year's Day =D.

Happy New Year's Everyone!

New Year's Eve, LG's 480Hz TV, 7-9 inch iPod Touch?

Labels: , , ,

Today's is December 31st 2008, New Year's Eve. I will, hopefully, be spending the last quarter of my day at my cousin, Aldric / Cathleen's, house. If we get there early enough, i might even get to play Rock Band or Playstation Home tonight, i'm psyched. This is all resting on-the-fact that my mom even wants to go to their place. Now that me and my mom are talking, i was nice enough to shovel the snow this morning just about a half hour ago, 5:15 a.m. You might be reading this and ask, Why are you awake this early? Because, i haven't slept yet. Nikki and her brother were 'teasing' me Tuesday night about how i always sleep early. They said that the past 2 day's i've been sleeping kind of early, compared to what time they slept at. I told them that i had to wake up early on Monday and Tuesday, so that was the reason why i slept early. Anyways, i took this as a challenge, so, i'm going to sleep later than both of them, which will actually be kind of tough because they are both working on a puzzle. Nikki finally got her Christmas gift from her parents, which was a huge puzzle, she got 2. One consisted of 1000 pieces and the other one is 2000 pieces. They've been working on it for around 7 hours, but it looks to me as if they're both getting tired. I'll definitely win.

So, at next year's CES (2009) LG will be revealing many things to the world. The one we'll talk about today is LG's 480Hz TV. Before reading this article on techtree.com, i actually knew nothing about what "480Hz TV" meant. But, it actually is kind of neat once you know a couple of things. So, Hz stands for Hertz and the number of Hertz relates to the images per second displayed on the TV. So, these 480 Hz TV's dubbed the name "TruMotion 480" are actually quite impressive. Why? Because LCD TV's nowadays are only running about 120Hz so these TV's will actually quadruple the amount of images per second (since 480Hz / 120 Hz = 4). Therefore, this basically means crystal sharp images on these bad-boys. These TV's are "expected to make its commercial debut in late 2009."

A new rumour has surfaced about Apple and it's new iPod Touch hitting our markets. A quote from techcrunch.com states that, "expect a large screen iPod touch device to be released in the Fall of '09, with a 7 or 9 inch screen. Prototypes have been seen and handled by one of our sources, and Apple is talking to OEMs in Asia now about mass production." That is a lot of good, juicy information. It also sounds like very good news. I hope that Apple can also find a way to lengthen the battery life on these devices. By the time these come out, maybe i'll have a job at either Best Buy or Future Shop and i can actually buy one of these. Until then, let's all cross our fingers for both: me getting a job and, of course, that these iPod Touch rumours are true.

(Part II) The Grinch and I, An LG Watch Phone, Samsung i8510 INNOV8

Labels: , , ,

So, in the middle of writing my last blog, the Grinch came home. The apology letter that i left for her may have gotten through to her a bit. I wrote an apology letter on Sunday night and left it by the stairs on Monday, when i left for Nikki's house after my G2 Test. She came home and i think the letter lifted her normal grumpiness and we are now talking to each other. I can now refer to her as my mother, instead of the Grinch. And we all lived happily ever after... for now that is.

Anyways, more LG news, wowzers. LG has developed a watch phone. "It features a touchscreen LCD, 3G data, a 1.43-inch screen, and a built-in camera for videoconferencing. [Unfortunately] No price yet." A watch phone, wow. It has plans to release in Europe and Japan, but there is no news on it being released in the U.S. (or Canada) as-of-yet. Hopefully, it'll come out in the U.S. so that maybe i'll be able to see one in my life. It will be shown at CES 2009, just like their upcoming (really thin) LCD TV.

Last (phew!), but definitely not least, the Samsung i8510 INNOV8. This phone will now hit American soil (and maybe even Canada's). The FCC revealed that it now supports North American 3G bands, namely AT&T and Rogers. This phone packs a lot of features, which i will go through. But, G4tv.com puts it best when it says, "It's even got 3D surround sound...in a phone?!" This is one of the phones, i've had my eye on for months now, but a real turn-off to this phone was that it doesn't have a touch-screen. This phone is mighty on specs, seriously mighty. It has a 2.8 inch screen, 8-megapixel camera, 3G and Wi-Fi, 128 MB RAM, built-in GPS, 8/16 GB internal memory and a bunch of other mumbo-jumbo. I'm not going to go in-to depth too much, like i did with the HTC Touch HD, simply because this phone will not break-up my love triangle with the Nokia N97 and the HTC Touch HD. It could've been a love square, but no touchscreen equals a no-no for me, nowadays.

Finally, finished! I hope that was a good read because i really enjoyed writing it. Anyways, time for my nap.

(Part I) G2 Test and Nikki's House [Monday], Rogers Internet Issues [Tuesday], Gizmodo's iPhone Pro, Triple-Screened Gaming Laptop, Samsung S8300, Is LG's LCD TV the Thinnest yet?

Labels: , , , , ,

I didn't get to blog yesterday because of Rogers Internet. I didn't have Internet for the past 40 hours because Rogers really fails. Anyways, i'll talk more about that later, let's talk about Monday and my G2 Test. So, Monday i woke up at around 11:30 a.m. and had an hour and 15 minutes to spare until i was going to get picked up for my G2 Driving Test. With the G2, i can drive by myself, even though i currently don't have a car to drive... Fail. Well, anyways, i showered and before i knew it, i was on my way to the Driving Test. I got there at about 1:30 p.m. and me and my driving instructor talked in the car until about 2:01 p.m. That's when i was about to do my test. I talked to my driving instructor for almost a half hour and i was getting quite nervous, to be honest. So yes, 2:01 p.m. and my G2 Test starts. I start off with a left turn out of the parking lot and the examiner tells me to make a 3-point turn. I do so in a mere perfect manner (LOL!) and then shortly after that he tells me to parallel park in between 2 pylons. I do so, but then he informs me that next time, i should park closer to the curb. So, i nod and away we go again. I come to a stop sign and i end up stopping too late, leaving me with no choice, but to end up stopping a couple of inches ahead of the stop sign, which was on the sidewalk. He tells me that i shouldn't do that and that's when i started losing confidence. I ended up driving too slow (40 km/h) on a 50 km/h speed limit area. This is when he tells me to get rid of my jitters. I listened to him and about 8 minutes later, i finish the test, quite smoothly. Going into the test, i thought that it was going to take 45 minutes - 1 hour, but in reality, it was all of about 10 minutes. Anyways, after i finish, he tells me that i should be more observant while driving and that all-in-all, i passed my G2 Driving Test! Woohoo! I can drive alone, now i just have to ninja my mom's car. After passing my test, i went to my girlfriend, Nikki's, place. We watched 'King of Queens' for an hour and after that, Ashlee came by. The three of us watched Family channel and we went on the Internet for a bit. This is where it all starts. Time for some Cranium! The teams were me and Jeff (Nikki's younger brother) facing off against Nikki and Ashlee. It was really, really fun. Me and Jeff were ahead pretty much the whole time, until the end. Nikki and Ashlee ended up making a dramatic and miraculous comeback to win the game. Unbelievable. We demand a rematch! Anyways, after that, i bussed home and ended up going to sleep at about 3:15 a.m.

By the way, just thought i'd tell you now, this blog post will be quite lengthy [I, actually, ended up breaking the long post, into 2 separate ones]. As i said earlier, i didn't have Internet for the past 40 hours because of Rogers screwing it up. On Sunday, the phone wasn't working, so a technician came in. He ended up messing up both the Internet and didn't even manage to fix the problem with the phone. So, on Monday, the phone magically starts working again and the Internet was still down. So, Tuesday [today] another technician comes in. He arrives at my house at about 10:00 a.m. to fix the Internet. So, time flies by and everything is up and running by about 1:00 p.m. So, he tells me that the Internet will work as soon as i restart my computer and laptop. In my head, i don't believe him, but he is the technician so i took his word for it. Just in case though, i restarted my laptop as fast as i could. He exits the house and enters his vehicle. I run upstairs and check if my Internet is working and what do you know... it wasn't. I run back downstairs, put my shoes on and knock on the technician's van window. I tell him that the Internet still wasn't working and he comes back inside the house and we both try to figure out the problem. We were working on finding the solution when all of a sudden UFC came on the TV on The Score. We both stop and watch briefly. After about 2 minutes, the UFC highlights finishes and we continue trying to find out what was wrong with the Internet. After about 2 more minutes, we figure it out and my Internet is finally back and stable. That was 3-4 hours ago. So for the past 3-4 hours, i've done nothing but Neopets, eat and i skimmed through my Google Reader which had 1000+ unread items.

This is one of the most interesting things i have seen on Gizmodo.com. The iPhone Pro. This is a concept from Gizmodo, which would turn the iPhone into the ultimate phone. Please keep in mind that these are not real pictures and that Apple is currently not developing what you see in these pictures. Although, with technology, it's always a possibility in the future. Anyways, this new 'iPhone Pro' sports a true 16:9 aspect ratio, 60GB of storage, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a camera on the front for iChat and a high quality camera on the other side (with optical zoom and all that stuff). This is an amazing idea and i think that Apple really should get their hands on these concept pictures. This is probably the best idea i've ever heard. When you reveal the QWERTY keyboard, you will also spot a directional pad (on the left side) and 2 buttons (on the right side). These would be fully functional in the game applications that users are creating. I feel that this definitely would be a serious competitor to anything, including: game handhelds (Nintendo DS, Sony PSP), new cell phones and even new PMP's (Portable Media Player's). I think this would crush everything in sight.

Just when you thought Lenovo's ThinkPad W700ds, would be the only one coming up with dual-screens for laptops, think again. Kidding. But, a recent concept design of a new gaming laptop, created by Kyle Cherry, dubbed the name 'The Prime Gaming Laptop' is "ridiculous." Again, keep in mind, this is a concept, just like the (above) iPhone Pro. Kyle Cherry designed this laptop which sports triple-monitors. Yes, 3! This concept design is also amazing. You can use all 3 screens, which will reveal to you about 26 inches of OLED's, or you can fold up those 2 side-screens, to convert it into a 13-inch notebook. This is really nice-looking, but Gizmodo.com says that it may be another "5-10 years [before] we'll see stuff like this." Although, it does look amazing, don't count on this one being too close in our future.

This new, Samsung S8300 will be an upgrade to the current Samsung Soul. This phone will sport a "2.8 inch AMOLED touchscreen, [and an] 8-megapixel camera." There were a bunch of other features, like on-board GPS, but that really doesn't interest me too much. It looks like a superb phone, maybe because it is an upgrade to the Samsung Soul. I had my eye on the Samsung Soul for a while, but that was a long time ago. In my next post, i talk about the Samsung INNOV8, which i actually like more than this Samsung phone. They're both worth a good look though.

2009 looks to be a strong year for LG, so don't give up on them yet. LG is going to shock the crowd at CES 2009 by unvealing the world's thinnest LCD TV. Although, the viewing size is still to be determined (or just not listed on the site) it will sport a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and will be just 24.8 mm (0.97 inches) at it's thickest point. Quite sexy, but will likely be expensive. Why does everything i talk about have to be so expensive for?

Part 2 is coming up next... this is what happens when you don't blog for 2 days.

Google Friend Connect and Facebook Connect, LittleBigPlanet Sweep the Awards!

Labels: , , , , ,

In the middle of writing my last blog, i lost my internet connection, so i had to do my blog on OpenOffice 3.0. You may not notice anything new about my blog right away, but i actually added two new features to it. If you look on the right sidebar of the screen and if you scroll down far enough, you will see that i added the new Google Friend Connect. It's not entirely new and has been around for about a month now, same goes with the next thing i'm about to talk about. The other new thing is Facebook Connect. I have now implemented Facebook Connect to my blog, so now, [pretty much] anyone can comment on my blog. If you click on comments, you will see that it takes you to a new comment screen with a couple of different options. One option says that you can use Facebook Connect to comment. If you tick the small circle it will use your Facebook log-in credentials to make a comment and this will help identify who you are and will post your profile picture in a smaller format. So yes, that is pretty much what i have been going for the past hour. I slept from 5 a.m. until about 4 p.m. so i haven't been awake too long. {Edited at 8:27 p.m.: I'm actually going to have to take out Facebook Connect, for a while. First, i need to find a way how to implement Facebook Connect AND OpenID comments simultaneously. Until i find that out, i will not be adding Facebook Connect. =(.}

At the recent Edge awards, LittleBigPlanet was a big winner. LittleBigPlanet got a couple of awards, including: The Best Developer, Best Innovation, Best Visual Design and, the most important, Best Game of 2008. Damn, it makes me sad that i won't be able to play this game. Not having a PS3 means i will never have this game. LittleBigPlanet is a Playstation 3 exclusive title, meaning it will only be released on the PS3. Well, you never know, i may get it, but it will probably have to be with my own money. I highly doubt i'm going to buy it for myself though, but maybe next year, if the price drops. Anyways, there is really nothing else to talk about for now, so maybe i'll write again later.

Windows 7 Beta Leaked, Hot Shots Golf Fore! (4)

Labels: ,

Well, if anyone wants the Windows 7 Beta 1 it is now out on BitTorrent. "The beta expires July 1, 2009" and i don't really know what else to say. Hopefully though, Windows 7 will smash Vista because it's seriously a terrible OS. When i was at my uncle's condo last night, Aldric's dad, who is a Computer Network Administrator, mentioned that Windows Vista is terrible and that they shouldn't have even released it. He said that at their work they bought a couple of new machines, running Windows Vista. He continued saying that he had to alter some of his programs using Citrix because the programs were incompatible with Windows Vista. He also said that he can't wait for their next OS, Windows 7, because Vista is 'depressing.' Anyways, i would download the Windows 7 beta, but i can't because downloading it as a torrent might push me over my 60GB allowance for the month.

So, ever since my last post, i ate pizza and finished about 750 mL of sliced pineapples (yum!). I've also played HSG4 a lot today, more than expected. I told myself to only play an hour a day because i don't want to finish the game too fast. I've unlocked about half of the character's and i've won about 5 tournaments. I'd estimate myself as being about 5% done the game. That's actually not that much, but if i was awake all day today, i'd probably be closer to around 8% done. Anyways, we'll see what events perspire tomorrow. Maybe church, sleep-in, blogging, PS2, Nikki or maybe even WoW. We'll have to see, but i'm getting scared / excited for my G2 Test on Monday at 2 p.m. Hopefully, i pass and hopefully my mom gives me $75 CAD for the test because she might make me pay for it. But, if she doesn't give me the money, i have a plan for that muahaha. Anyways, i'll tell you more about my life tomorrow. By the way, i never talked to my mom all day today, i've actually never looked at her yet. So far, so good. We'll probably make-up on either the New Years Eve / New Years Day, we'll see.

Dell Adamo, The Grinch That Stole My Christmas

Labels: , ,

Today, there were some more rumours that surfaced, regarding the Dell Adamo netbook / notebook. It may feature a Blu-Ray Drive and some recent leak, suggested that the base price of the Adamo will be around $1500 USD. If this is the case, the Adamo will be about $300 lower than the Macbook Air. This price difference may not be as 'significant' as expected, but it definitely has a more respectful specification chart than the Macbook Air. Another rumour mentions that the Adamo will be revealed at the CES next year. Hopefully it happens.

So, last night [or this morning], i slept at 6:45 a.m. watching Russell Peters [again] and Dane Cook with my girlfriend. She slept at around 5:30 a.m. and i was up for just over another hour because i was playing Hot Shots Golf on Playstation 2, since i didn't receive the PS3, from the grinch. 'The Grinch' being my mother, for single-handedly ruining my Christmas. Although, the last half of my Christmas was good because of my girlfriend's family and my cousin's. So today, i woke up at about 6 p.m. because my girlfriend went to Pacific Mall. She called me about 3 or 4 times during the day while i was sleeping and i woke up each time. The first time she called she was in the cell-phone store. Pacific Mall is, generally, an asian mall, so that's the mall to go to if you're looking for a new (originally not out in Canada) unlocked cell-phone. She called me because she asked me what the name of the phone that i wanted was. I told her the 'HTC Touch HD.' Anyways, she picked up a 'Sony' phone and i quickly asked her if it was the 'Sony XPERIA X1' and, obviously, i was correct and her brother commented saying, "How did he know that?" I love when people say that, but i don't know why. It makes me feel as if i'm more tech-saavy than the average person, which i feel, that i am. Anyways, after that, she had to go. She called me 2 other times, once after she got her hair coloured and the other reason was just to talk. Anyways, i think i should've stayed at my cousin's house. I think this because my girlfriend's exhausted right now and taking a nap, leaving me with absolutely nothing to do. I want her to sleep, but i mean, i haven't talked to her all day and it's going to be the same thing for probably the next week, since she's going to be busy. I feel bad for having to make her stay up today, but i just miss her so much, since we didn't get to talk at all today. Well, i don't know, maybe i'll just talk to her for an hour, we'll see. I should've stayed at my cousin's though because: that way my girlfriend would be able to sleep, i'd actually have something to do [thanks to Aldric] and the only reason why i went home was so i could talk to my girlfriend. Anyways, that's my blog for today, someone save me from boredom. Maybe Hot Shots Golf can help me before i go to sleep in about 2 hours. Soft, i know.

At the Uncle's Condo

Labels: ,

As i said in my previous post, i was going to my uncle's place / condo today. So, we left at about 6 p.m. because first, we had to pick up my grandmother from Bingo, her 2nd home. We got to my uncle's place at around 6:45 p.m. and at first we all just ate. There were a couple of us there: uncle, aunt, Aldric, Cathleen, me, grandma, uncle Jason and uncle Phil [my favourite]. Anyways, i actually haven't seen my uncle Jason since last time i visited his condo, which was before i started blogging. And, i haven't seen my uncle Phil in, just about, forever. After we all ate, we played "Are you Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" which is a board game. For this game, everyone has their own piece of paper and are supposed to write their answer because the person who is answering can use you as a lifeline and you get a reward or whatever. So, my uncle Jason went first and the first question was "What is the tortilla pita made of, ground what?" Aldric's answer was "LOL." Then again, i shouldn't be talking since i put "beef." I forget what the answer was but anyways, yeah. It was such a funny game, with Aldric's answers especially and everyone laughing, it made me happy again =). Anyways, after we finished, i ended up winning. After my uncle Phil got his 1 million dollar question wrong he ended up with $0. Cathleen stopped at $500,000, so i basically had to get a million to win. So, anyways, as i continued my journey up the money ladder, i got to my million dollar question. It was actually really easy. "What does the element 'Au' on the Periodic Table stand for?" Obviously that was really easy, 'Gold.' So, we tried the other side, which was, "What does a hygrometer measure?" I also got that right, 'Humidity.' After i won the game, we watched Russell Peters, his newest stand-up comedy. Anyways, we watched it and it was hilarious. It was actually my first time watching this one, so it was extremely funny. My whole family was laughing, yes, even Aldric and my grandma!! After the Russell Peters finished, we went home. My cousin's were kind enough to drop me off at home, so yes, that's where i am now. Luckily, my mom isn't home since she got called to her second job =D.

So there ya go ashlee, just what you wanted, the blog post for the rest of my day =)

Aldric's House!!

Labels: , ,

So, last night in my previous blog post, i told all of you that i didn't go home last night because of problems with my mother. So, i spent the night at Aldric's place, it is going so well, besides my cell phone on the verge of dying. So, i had to turn off my cell phone. Anyways, last night i slept in Aldric's room since he was downstairs watching a movie, 'Meet Dave.' Last night, i was on meebo.com for MSN and then i went to bed around 3:00 a.m. or something. My girlfriend called me a couple times last night and the last time was when i was already sleeping. I called her back, because i magically woke up. She read my blog post to me on the phone. After that, we went to go to sleep, so we got off the phone at around 4:51 a.m.

I woke up this morning "at like 12:23 p.m." says Aldric. As soon as i woke up, i went to the washroom to wash my face and to re-adjust my contacts, since i slept with them on. "You slept with your contacts on?" Yes, i did Aldric. So, me and Aldric went downstairs and played NBA 08. It was a rematch of last night's game on TV. I used the Boston Celtics and Aldric used the Los Angeles Lakers, except this time i won. Since we played on the easiest difficulty, we barely missed any shots all game. The final score was 178 - 119, for me. I was trying to hit the 200-point mark, but Aldric was coming up with some amazing blocks. Anyways, after that, we played again. We changed the difficulty to All-Star and i, again, played as the Boston Celtics. He, on the other hand, played as the Toronto Raptors, with his created character, Jamario Moon, since he wasn't implemented in the game. At halftime we stopped playing, even though i was winning. Cathleen wanted to watch some movies on the TV, so we quickly downloaded Playstation Home first, to try it out. It was pretty cool [and funny]. We went to some place where everyone was dancing around some music. Aldric was dancing, but his character wasn't even facing the camera, so all we could see was his back. Aldric then gave the thumbs down to some black character that was dancing and we all started laughing. It was me, Aldric, Cathleen and their mom watching Aldric go around in Playstation Home. He went into the Theater and pretty much did nothing. "And stole somebody's seat," says Aldric, who is sitting right beside me and being my personal editor. "Hehehehehe." Anyways, he went to the Arcade / Bowling Alley, in Playstation Home. But, since there were so many people in the alley's, he didn't get a chance to bowl or play pool. After that, he went to the Mall and soon after, Cathleen stopped him. So, we had to turn off the Playstation 3 and then me and Aldric went downstairs to play some basketball on his mini-net. "We were trying to shoot from like half-court in my basement," says Aldric. I won, obviously and then we came upstairs when we finished playing basketball. "I can't even write a whole page, like that blog, whole page of a story," mentions Aldric, who is talking about me writing this post. Anyways, when we came upstairs, we went on their sexy, Dell laptop and watched some youtube.com videos. We watched: Slamball, Top 40 Dunks of 2008, MXC, and some random guy pole vaulting and getting the pole to his balls. We were laughing real hard, i love it here. Anyways, later on tonight, we're going to my uncle's place / condo, i can't wait.

We might play "Are you smarter than a 5th grader," but we'll see. I'll be returning home tonight, so yeah. Aldric's gonna get his present tonight, which he says will be a movie, 'Kung-fu Panda' and 'Kung-fu Panda and the Secrets of the Furious Five.' He told me what to write there, so i don't really know what the second movie is because i've never heard of it. "It's in the pandemonium pack," says Aldric.

Anyways, i'm off now, until later, hope you enjoyed reading this, compliments of me and Aldric, teaming up!!

Christmas: Bests and Worsts

Labels: ,

Today, i will be explaining my day and how my Christmas went, we will talk about the highs and also the lows of the day.

Worst: As i mentioned in my previous blog, i woke up at around 11:42 this morning and my mom never said a word to me. She went into my room 3 times, twice to drop off clothes from the laundry and once to give me my present (with no card, wtf). I opened my present and i received a wallet and usually, i would like something like this. But, you know what? Right now, i don't need a wallet. I already have 3, do i really need another? It's not like i told her that i needed one in the first place, so i don't know where she comes up with a dumb idea like that. Not once, did she even bother to ask me if i needed anything for Christmas, but whatever. It's so funny because when we went to Best Buy on the weekend to get my cousin's gift, i actually got my hopes up that i was actually getting a PS3. Want to know why? We split up in the store and i found her fiddling around in the Playstation 3 section of the store. Thanks for fooling me. Anyways, so i got a wallet for Christmas, yipee, at least there was 50 bucks inside the wallet. Did i mention that not once did she say Merry Christmas to me today. She also never said thank you for the gift that i got her, Bourne Ultimatum. She's actually been wanting that box set for a year now. At least one of us got something they wanted. So, moving along, she yells at me to go and eat, but i never went because i wasn't hungry at the time. I did end up eating my breakfast about a half hour later, but ehh. Anyways, moving even more along, it hits about 3:45 p.m. and i ask my mom if she can drive me to my girlfriend's, Nikki's, place and you know what she says? "Oh, i didn't even know you were going." Seriously? I've been telling her for about a week now and she claims that i haven't told her, so whatever, i just go and bus to Nikki's instead. I got to my girlfriend's place at around 5 and this was by far the best part of the day.

Best: I got to my girlfriend's place and they were watching 'House of Saddam.' At first, i said to myself, "Why are we watching this?" But, it actually was quite interesting. Anyways, after a while i finally made my way to the basement where the teenagers were playing Rock Band on the Wii. I had such a good time. Being able to spend time with Nikki and her family, playing with her cute cousins, watching the guys play Rock Band, shooting some hoops on the mini-net downstairs and actually being able to feel as if i was actually part of a family. This morning was the loneliest i've ever felt. I rode 2 buses to get to Nikki's place and on the first bus, i was the only one inside and on the second one, there were 3 of us inside the bus. Anyways, her family just really made me so happy. The laughing, karaoke, cousins and a special thanks to my girlfriend, who was so amazing tonight. They had a 'Steal a Gift' and it just brought us all so many laughs and smiles that it just took away all of the pain that i felt this morning from being completely neglected by my mother. It was an amazing time and i thank my girlfriend, Nikki, and her parents who helped me through a tough time.

Worst: Before i left Nikki's house, i called my mom and asked for a ride home. She said, "Well, you can bus to her house, why don't you bus home?" I said, "Do you know what time it is? They don't have buses running this late at night." Mom says, "Oh well, maybe you should have gone home earlier then, oh wait, you have money now right? [referring to the Christmas money that i now have] Why don't you take a cab home?" I got furious and asked her what was wrong with her today and out of anger i called her an asshole, but i don't regret it. That was the first time that i actually swore at my mother on purpose and it felt good. For her to make my Christmas so horrible, i just had to send her a message and that was the only way i could do it. I may have been wrong for calling her that, but all of the hurt that i am feeling right now is telling me not to regret what i said.

Best: My girlfriend was by my side the whole time and i really thank her for that. She took time away from her family party in order to love and care for me and i really, really appreciated it. She is amazing and i couldn't ask for a better girlfriend. Her parents were also extremely nice to me when they saw how much pain i was in. I was crying and thankfully, my girlfriend was there to hug me and to tell me that everything was okay. She gave me some alcohol because, "I needed it." I love her to death, seriously. Nikki's mom gave me some food to bring home, mmm =). Nikki's dad was also being extremely nice to me and was going to lend me a ride to the corner of the street, which is where i was going to be picked up by my cousin's [not my mom]. Unfortunately, there were cars blocking his car's pathway out of the driveway, but it was okay, i still appreciate his effort. After my short walk to the corner at about 12:30 in the morning, my aunt was there to pick me up. I told her the story and what happened between me and my mom and now i am at their place and i also thank them for allowing me to sleep-over here for the night. I will most likely be going home tomorrow, but i just needed to get away from my mom for a bit because i hate all of her negative vibe that she gives off.

Conclusion: Special Thanks: To my cousin's (for letting me stay at their place), Nikki's family (for helping me feel as if i was part of a family, for a change), Nikki's parents (for being extremely nice to me) and, of course, Nikki (for being there every single step of the way, i love you so much babe)
Special NO Thanks: Hi mother.

Sony's New Netbook, Lenovo OPhone, A Wallet

Labels: , , ,

Sony has actually unintentionally confirmed the new Vaio netbook. It is going to be 8 inches and will sport a wide 1600x768 resolution. It packs a 1.33 GHz Intel processor and has a 60GB hard drive. It's pretty cool but on the other hand, i think it's too small for someone like me to use. Looking at this picture kind of tells me that it will be good to have on-the-fly and that female's can put it in their purses, or whatever. So yeah, this new netbook will be pretty small, it can probably fit in a big pocket, i guess. Hmm, seeing how it is Sony it will probably be overpriced, but eh, that's just what i think.

So, Lenovo will release a new phone, the Lenovo OPhone. The OPhone is just 1 mm thicker than the iPhone 3G and packs many more features. The OPhone, to me, looks uglier than the iPhone but it does have a 5MP camera with a flash. It may be a good competitor, but i think many people will agree with me and say that, currently, the iPhone can't be brought down. The iPhone's specifications may be lacking, but it makes up for it with it's awesome OS and fluidity. Don't even get me started on all of the applications that the iPhone has. It is pretty much a gaming console and i don't think Lenovo will scare Apple one bit. The iPhone is just too packed with applications and games. The Lenovo OPhone is pictured on the left side and it is located in the middle of the 2 iPhones.

So, after getting home after driving over black ice last night, i ended up going to bed at about 4:30 a.m. I woke up this morning at 11:42 and i've been trying to install Greasemonkey on Google Chrome. Up to now, i still don't know how to install the scripts, but hopefully i'll be able to get it soon after i write this blog. Anyways, me and my mom haven't talked much today, i haven't even told her 'Merry Christmas,' but i guess i already did last night. Does that count? Anyways, she walked into my room and handed me this small box thing. I opened it and it revealed that she gave me a wallet with $50 CAD inside. Yay. I was so excited... not. Why would i need a wallet, seriously? I'm already fine with my fake Lacoste wallet, but she gets me another one anyway. I am probably not going to ask her for a ride to my girlfriend's house later because i don't really want to talk to her. But, ehh, i'll just bus, it's okay. I know tonight will be fun and i can't wait to get to my girlfriend's place later today. It really doesn't feel like Christmas, but i don't know. I hope that my 2 best friend's are having a good Christmas and i wish you ALL a Merry Christmas! Greasemonkey struggling, here i come [again!].

Mass, Blackberry, Christmas and Black Ice

Labels: , ,

Since my last blog, i had to do something until church mass started. So, i shoveled the driveway and since my girlfriend had to clean her house for her Christmas party tomorrow, i went to take a nap. I took a nap until about 5:50 p.m. with minimal interruptions, which was fascinating. But, on the other hand, i really missed my girlfriend (i talk about her a lot don't i? =D). Anyways, i woke up and had to get ready since i had to go to mass soon. We left around 6:20 p.m. filipino time, so in real time it was about 6:40 p.m. (filipino time refers to being later than average). We left a bit late because me and my mom just had to take pictures before we left, it was just that important. Anyways, we got to mass which was at the school in Brampton, St. Edmund Campion. I saw the rest of my family there, but i decided not to say anything because i was too lazy to walk all the way to where they were seated. So, i went through the whole mass until it was right before Communion and this is when my cousin, Aldric, usually goes to the bathroom. Sure enough, he had to go and he and his dad spotted us, since they walked right by us. So, since they saw us, we had to move to where they were. I didn't mind. Anyways, we got there and after Communion i saw the hottest girl, besides my girlfriend, that is. She was really pretty, but then i saw her boyfriend and it ruined all of that fun. Oh man, i forgot one thing! Okay, we have to backtrack to the Homily, which is the part where the priest talks about anything random in the middle of the mass. So, there was this black family and there were 5 of them: mother, father and their 3 sons. The middle-aged son was wearing red, matching his mother. The oldest son was wearing white, matching his father. But, the youngest son was wearing bright green, he was the entertainer of the night, for me at least. He would stand up, jump around, flail his arms and he actually made me laugh. Me and my mom were sitting in the back and there just happened to be a pole in the middle of the hallway. Of course, this kid was wild enough that he actually started to run backwards, little did he know, he was about to hit a pole. Well, about 2 seconds later, he hits the pole. Fortunately though, he went back-first and not head-first into it. Anyways, back to that girl i saw. The mass finished and i pointed the girl out to my cousin, Cathleen, and i asked her how in the world she was with that guy. She was also curious as to why she chose him and she said, "What if that's her brother?" I didn't really have time to think about that. Well, anyways, that would be the last time i see her. After mass, we drove to Cathleen's place and that's where we hit the half-time marker of this post.

This picture may still be too small for you to see, so if you want a bigger picture just go to the link below. Some new Blackberry rumours have surfaced. This chart shows Blackberry's 2009 "Roadmap." It reveals many things about possible future Blackberry devices: model names, codenames, carriers, descriptions, price ranges and pictures. Although, if you take a close look at the chart, there are no pictures for any of these possible future phones because in it's place, we see 'N/A.' Some highlights to this chart are: a new Bold, a new Curve, a new Pearl, a new 3G Curve, a new touchscreen Bold, a new Storm slider and [more] other new Pearls. Looks like it will be a big year for Blackberry next year, which is of course, competing with the iPhone and maybe even the upcoming iPhone Nano? But, keep in mind, these are all just rumours. What surprises me here is that the Bold is listed as the new touchscreen phone and that the Storm will make it's way to the slider category. To my knowledge, i think it will be Blackberry's first slider phone. But yes, the new Blackberry Bold touchscreen will probably have to step up it's game, seeing how the Storm unimpressed many. It will be interesting to see what happens in the near future, we will [hopefully] soon find out.

After mass, me and my mom made our way over to my cousin's house. As soon as we got in the house, everyone ate right away. After we finished eating, we watched 'The Dark Knight' on Blu-Ray in 1080p on Aldric's PS3. Earlier, i asked Aldric if he downloaded Playstation Home, which came out like 2 weeks ago. He said, "No." and asked what 'Home' was. After telling him that it was like The Sims and that it was free, he got really excited and wanted it. Anyways, so we watched 'The Dark Knight' and when the movie finished it was already 11:50 p.m. My oh my, where did the time go? Afterwards, we opened presents. Unfortunately, no PS3 for me. I got an Old Navy sweater, a teddy bear stuffed with $75 CAD and another $50 CAD. Not that much, but i don't expect much really. After all the presents were opened and all the pictures were taken, we had to go home. This is originally why i wanted to blog in the first place. 2 words: Black Ice. Black Ice is really scary stuff, especially when my mother is behind the wheel because i just hate the way she drives. So, we were driving home and first experienced black ice when she had to stop at a red stoplight and she skidded to the right lane. Amazing luck though because [1], there were no cars in the right lane and [2], the Yellow Neon in our left lane would've hit us because they also skidded to the right. Moving along, we see the aftermath of a car going over the island because it was probably trying to make a left turn to fast. Moving even more along, an '06 Honda Accord with an American license plate cruises by doing about 65 km/h. Everyone at this time was doing about 40 km/h, so he probably thought he was a big-shot. Unfortunately, it might have been his first time driving in Canada because he had to learn the hard way. He tried to stop at the next red stoplight and waddaya know, he skids through the red light cause he couldn't stop. Fortunately, no cars were coming in either direction. Me and my mom pass by him later and at this point he was doing about 25 km/h [LOL]. I'm not finished yet. 3 more stoplights later, we see the aftermath of a bus (yes, a bus) with the front end over the sidewalk because the driver was also probably trying to make a left turn too fast. Damn it, this is where i was just getting scared. I don't trust my mom driving on normal grounds, imagine what i was feeling when i saw this happening to other cars. So, up comes the part where she [my mom] has to make a right turn and we see the jeep in front of us do a 180 because he tried to use his brakes and they [Epic] failed him. Anyways, my mom made the right turn successfully and i called my girlfriend and told her all of the events that i just saw. Me my mom got home safely, but i actually almost slipped on the driveway. And that concludes my blog post for today. By the way, i still have to receive my present from my mom, so my PS3 dreams are not exactly finished yet, but i'm not expecting it anymore anyway. Well, i think 'The Dark Knight' made my Christmas Eve a bit better, since we were lacking on the family aspect of Christmas, but what can you do? I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Eve and i can't wait until tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope that tomorrow will be a more exciting day. I'll hopefully be spending my night at the Natividad's [girlfriend's] place. =D

3D Gaming Monitors, Dell Adamo, iPhone Nano Rumours

Labels: , ,

I've already told you all about my amazing day [last night] with my girlfriend and today i'm going to wish you all a Merry Christmas Eve! Last night, i played a bit of WoW, just PvP'ing. I slept kind of early, since my girlfriend fell asleep already. This morning i've done pretty much nothing. I've just slacked around, waiting for my girlfriend to wake up. I signed up for a technorati.com profile and claimed my blog on there. Anyways, yes, it's time for my [amazing] post.

I'll start this paragraph off with a quote pulled off of kotaku.com. "iZ3D plan to show off a new line of 3D monitors at next month's Consumer Electronics show. The line-up includes a 22-inch monitor with a custom paint job." This is pretty cool news, but i think that after playing WoW for about the 16th hour of the day [no exaggeration] and seeing it in 3D, would somewhat make me dizzy. Fortunately, you can change the settings to standard 2D mode. These monitors will also cause your regular PC, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 games to project in 3D by using special software and some [cool] viewing glasses. The price range for these monitors will be about $400 - $550 USD. These models will be shown at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) and i'll talk about it more when that comes around.

Dell has confirmed that they started the Adamo 'leak.' They did this by posting an advertisement on the website uptownlife.net and had a text tagline of "rival the Macbook Air." Dell spokesperson, Bob Kaufman said, "We did this to wake up the personal computing category and create some buzz." Hopefully we'll see more of the Dell Adamo in the upcoming year, preferably, early next year. Watch out Macbook Air, computing powerhouse, Dell, coming through.

This iPhone Nano rumour has not died yet [and probably won't anytime soon]. It started off with leaks of photos revealing a new skin (cover) for the iPhone Nano. Now, there are pictures of the actual product (see left side), in this case, the iPhone Nano. These photos were submitted anonymously, of course, so the pictures may be fake. But, at least you have a look at what it may look like. Surprisingly (insert exaggeration), it looks to me like a small clone of the original iPhone. Everything looks the exact same and it could easily be done in Photoshop. Obviously though, not by me, since my Photoshop skills are terrible. So, macrumors.com states that, "At this point, we have no reason to believe this photo is real and are labeling it a 'concept' design for the sake of discussion and debate." So there you have it, the leaked "concept" photo of the rumoured iPhone Nano.

Burning Myself [By Accident], WoW, Day With Girlfriend =)

Labels: , , ,

This morning was pretty much the same as every other morning. But, i did find out last night that i'm gonna be taking a bubble bath everyday this week because the plumber isn't coming back to finish the shower until Saturday! Kind of good news, but today, i actually didn't feel like having one. This morning i had a driving lesson at 10, so i had to wake up kind of early. I woke up at about 8 and i took my bubble bath. I felt the top of the water with my hand and i found it to be quite warm, so i figured that i could step or lie down in it now. When i put both of my feet in the water, it was really hot, but i told myself that i'd be able to take the heat. 5 seconds later, i jumped out of the water because it was just way too hot. My girlfriend was sleeping on the phone at that time, so i couldn't yell because i didn't want to wake her up. After that i made the water a bit cooler, by adding some cold water. Anyways, I was lying / sitting down in my bathtub having my bubble bath, but i was so lazy that i just wanted to get out. I don't know why, but i just felt like standing up and getting out of the tub. Too lazy to sit down? I didn't really know what was going on. Maybe it was my brain sending my body signals because of the recent feet burning that just took place. Well, anyways, i got out of the tub and i put my jeans on. That's when i realized that my feet might have gotten burned a little bit by the water because it hurt when my feet scraped along the edge of my jeans. After about an hour, it hit 10:00 a.m. and i had my driving lesson. Nothing too interesting about that, but i do have my G2 test next Monday, which i am mildly excited for. Wish me luck. Anyways, i went to my girlfriend's house afterwards and i'm going to talk about that later, after this brief intermission.

World of Warcraft has now hit the 11.5 million people mark thingy. Yay, 11.5 million play WoW and, surprisingly, i'm not one of them. Well, currently, i'm not. The new expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, reportedly sold 4 million copies which shattered the previous record in the category of monthly PC-game sales, which was held by World of Warcraft's last expansion, The Burning Crusade. Congratulations Blizzard, but get working on Starcraft 2 please... oh, and announce to the world what new MMO you guys are working on, please and thank you. I'm kind of iffy on whether or not i should play WotLK, but i'll keep you updated.

Anyways, back to the day with the girlfriend, Nikki =D. So, i got to her house at around 1 p.m. and we opened each other's presents =). She opened her presents from me first. I got her Cranium, the board game, and Made of Honor, the DVD. I opened my presents from her afterwards. She got me a 'Famous' t-shirt and a PS2 controller, since i will not be getting the PS3 this Christmas, or ever, i might add. Anyways, i asked for a PS2 controller because i don't play WoW anymore and i feel like casually playing my PS2, since there's just some games i'm dying to play. Thanks babe, for both presents!! About PS2, i am probably going to redo Final Fantasy 10 and definitely going to play Hot Shots Golf 4 again because who doesn't love to hit a -20 on an 18 hole course (I hope someone understands that, and yes, i'm that good). Anyways, thanks [again!] babe =D. I love you. So, we watched the movie i got her, Made of Honor, and it somewhat related to our past, most of it actually. After that it was about 5:30 and me and Nikki decided to open and play some Cranium. After about half an hour of laughing we had to leave for dinner, but she didn't know where we were going =D. Nikki's dad drove us and then he passed by McDonalds and said, "Okay, you guys can get off now." Nikki was freaking out because her dad had been teasing her about me taking her to a drive-thru at McDonalds for tonight's dinner. But, anyways, after all of that, we finally got to the final destination, The Keg. I was extremely happy because Nikki really liked it. Anyways, after our very stuffing meal, some pictures, that guy that couldn't stop staring at her (this 'guy' actually goes to my school, but i don't know his name), we had to leave, since we were finished. Nikki fell asleep on my shoulder on the car ride home... someone had itis (urbandictionary.com it, if you don't know the meaning). Yes, so that was my amazing day, Christmas dinner with the girlfriend, whom i love very much. Thanks for everything babe. I love ya =).

Journey, Google Earth, Good Ol' Christmas

Labels: , ,

So, today, i played a bit of WoW and i played terribly. After that, I pretty much slacked around at home. I went to Cathleen's and this was by far the most fun that i've had all day, except when i was talking to my baby on Skype. I went to Cathleen's house to get my haircut for tomorrow's dinner with Nikki, my girlfriend =D. But, anyways, yeah, i went to their house but seriously, their stories about basketball are just hilarious. Pretty much, the complete opposite of my mood when i'm here at home with just my mom. She's constantly yelling at me, blaming me for every bad thing that happens in the house, i'm really tired of it. I mean, yeah, she may work hard for me, but damn, cut me some slack please. Maybe it's just that time of the month, but still, it really pisses me off sometimes. Anyways, me and my mom went to the mall and she did some last minute shopping. I, of course, had to carry all the bags and some other package. So, in my left hand i was holding 7 plastic bags and under my arm i had the package. In my right hand was my cell phone. Very balanced, i know, thank you. Anyways, after all of that shopping, we went home. After reading my girlfriend's very interesting blog post today, i've decided to write my own. Before i rant, i'll do a quick talk about Google Earth.

So, Google Earth is a program that you can use to pretty much see anywhere in the world, it uses various satellites to do this. So, some scientists were using Google Earth and they discovered "an unknown green patch that turned out to be an unexplored forest home to brand new undiscovered species." The scientist, Julian Bayliss stated that there were "7,000 hectares of forest, rich in biodiversity." He also mentions that this forest was probably left unexplored because of it's "miserable terrain and constant civil war." They discovered 3 new species of butterflies, "a new Gaboon viper that can kill a human in a single bite, along with all kinds of other wildlife." Very interesting, but i wonder how they found out how this viper could kill a human in a single bite. Hopefully no one actually died in the process of this research. With Google Earth, you can pretty much see anywhere, anytime. Apparently, Google Earth does have it's downfall. The terrorists in the Mumbai bombing actually used Google Earth to plan out their acts. But, thanks to Google Earth, the streets can always be monitored. We might even be able to see inside your homes soon... oh wait, that maybe kind of stalker-ish... oh well.

Oh, Christmas is coming up. Only about 2 more days and Santa will be dropping down your chimney. Well, i hope everyone has their joy and what not. But, i do know that for our family, Christmas is dying. Whatever happened to the many presents under the tree? Well, my family has actually split up. Our family used to be in 3 houses, now we've separated into 7 (i think). My family doesn't spend Christmas all under one household anymore, and it sucks. This is not a good sign, because now there are really no gifts under the tree anymore and it's kind of sad. Fine, you know what? It's not about the gifts (Although, it seems that everyone in my family is going to be getting gift cards... yay). But, y'know what, my Christmas is really going to suck because the family spirit is gone. Let's forget about the gifts, whatever happened to the get-together's? Family parties? The hugs, smiles and laughs? All gone. Yeah, none of that this year. I remember the good days, when i was younger, we'd plan out who's house we'd sleep at for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Our whole family at one house, about 70 people under one roof. I took those days for granted because those were the days when Christmas was actually worth waiting for all year. Now, this year, it's going to be me, my mom, aunt, uncle and my 2 cousins, Cathleen and Aldric. Don't get me wrong, i'm definitely going to have fun, watching 'The Dark Knight' in 1080p Blu-ray, but wouldn't it better if the whole family was there, all of us cuddling together? I really miss those days and as i was in the mall with my mom, i was reflecting on it. It made me sad. Maybe, my Christmas won't suck as much as i think. I'm taking my girlfriend out for dinner tomorrow =D. For Christmas Eve, i'm headed to my cousin's place, as stated above. And for Christmas Day / Night, i'm going to be going to the Natividad's household. This Christmas won't generally 'suck' it just won't be the same as previous years. Don't get me wrong, i love my family and i love my girlfriend's family. But, i just wish that i could have my old family get-togethers back. I know that my girlfriend's family will really make this Christmas memorable for me and it'll make me feel as if i'm a part of a big family again because I miss those days. I really, really do.

Final Fantasy DSi, LBP Sales, Google and Mozilla, LG LCD's, No PS3

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Last night, i was up talking to my girlfriend until about 2 in the morning. Officially, i woke up at 12:30 p.m. today. Very interesting stuff, eh? Actually, right now, i'm starving and want to eat a pizza. Oh yeah, i had to wake up at 9:30 a.m. this morning to let the plumber in. Other than that, i've done nothing.

Some sweet news about a new, limited edition Nintendo DSi that is set for release. "The cunning linguists at Kotaku have translated a Famitsu article on the limited edition Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time Nintendo DSi. This special DSi goes on sale next month and will be bundled with the aforementioned game." This bundle will be selling for 23,940 yen, which converted, is around $266.72 USD. Sounds good. A Final Fantasy limited edition Nintendo DSi, how sweet is that?

Ashlee's 'cute' game will make an appearance in today's blog. She commented on my previous blog about LittleBigPlanet saying that if i get this (which i won't) we should play it together, but i should bring Nikki too, so that she wouldn't get 'suspicious.' Anyways, people are actually starting to wake up and buy this game. LittleBigPlanet sales are increasing. After falling to 34,075 units sold in America after 4 weeks, it has jumped up to 61,388 units sold in week 8. It also rose overseas as well, dropping to 69,251 units sold in week 4 and then jumping in week 6 to 118,196 units sold. Anyways, yeah, that's all the news, not gonna talk about it anymore.

Some bad news towards Mozilla. Apparently, ever since the release of Google's browser, Chrome, the relationship between Mozilla and Google have become more "complicated." This is probably due to Google paying for 85% of all costs of Mozilla's browser, Firefox. Mozilla relies on Google very heavily in order for their business to stay alive and now that Google has a new primary browser, their relationship is turning out this way.

LG may have created LCD's that displays outdoors as well as it does indoors. The LCD's that are produced nowadays work pretty bad under sunlight. This pretty much applies to anything used outdoors: laptop LCD's, phone screens and mp3 player screens, just to name a few. "LG's Backlight Data Signal Switching Technology will allow users to switch between the indoor and outdoor modes with the press of a button. As an added bonus, switching to the reflective mode reduces LCD power consumption by about 75%." Keep in mind that the technology is still being developed and trying to be perfected. But, LG is definitely headed in the right direction.

Anyways, last night i was up with my girlfriend last night and found out that i'm not getting the PS3 (cause i'm just really smart like that). So, i won't be testing out Playstation Home, LittleBigPlanet or Street Fighter 4 (when it comes out), just to name a few. I'm not gonna lie, i'm disappointed, but i know my mom works hard for me. She currently has 2 jobs, her day job and her job at Canada Post, but she's only working on-call, but still. So, no PS3, but it's okay. All i need in this life of sin is me and my girlfriend... and WoW, most likely starting early next year or late this year, depending on how much money i get for Christmas. School > WoW though, i have to remember that.

Sony Vaio Netbook, Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds

Labels: , , , ,

So, today i woke up at around 1 p.m. After just lying down and trying to wake up my girlfriend twice while watching TV for an hour, i decided to leave my bed. I went to go eat my breakfast and after about half an hour of digestion i even ate my Swiss Chalet, that i should have ate last night. Omg, i took a bubble bath today. Since my shower-head isn't properly functioning, i had no other choice. So, anyways, i took my first bubble bath in about 7 years. It was so relaxing. I was just lying there and falling asleep, but still waiting for my girlfriend to wake up. Anyways, i got out of the tub after about 25 minutes of relaxation. After that, i watched some TV and my girlfriend finally woke up. Soon after that, i had to go to church. When we got to church i spotted my cousins, Aldric and Cathleen, not too far away from us. So we decided to move over from our location, to theirs. After mass, it was snowing. Okay, well, it really wasn't, but there was a lot of blowing snow that made that effect of falling snow. I fell asleep in the car on the way home, but made it home safely. And that's where i currently am now.

So, Sony Vaio is going to be releasing a new netbook on, what looks to be, January 9. This netbook is going to be "revolutionary" and will "change the way you look at laptops." There are some pictures on what it may look like. It may be longer in width than the usual netbook or notebook (laptop) that are currently being showcased. But we'll just really have to see what sets this netbook apart from other netbooks.

Speaking of "revolutionary," i have some good news and bad news here and i'll start off with the bad news. What i'm about to talk about will cost around $3,600 USD and weighs a hefty 11 pounds. The good news, dual monitors. Lenovo, as you can see on the left side, will be releasing a new notebook. It will feature 2 screens: one being the 17-inch (supposedly being the brightest on the market) primary screen, and also an integrated WACOM digitizer (whatever that means). This laptop is loaded. It comes with "Intel Core 2 Quad processors and combined with the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700M GPU. Ram maxes out at 8GB and you can stuff a total of 960GB of SSD / HDD storage into this bad boy." This thing is a beast, weighing 11 pounds, as stated above. Luckily, the video card tells you that this laptop is not for the normal everyday user. Sporting the NVIDIA Quadro video card points out that it is for the user dedicated to (and probably has a career in) hardcore photo / video editing. Looks nice though, i'm waiting to hear more information about it because it certainly sparks my interest. I'm not going to get it though, it's just interesting to talk about.

Cold day, very cold day. But, i am not looking forward to waking up at 7:30 tomorrow morning for the damn plumber =(.

Early WoW PvP, NY Times Game of the Year, Dell Studio XPS 13

Labels: , , ,

So, here's the new layout in my room. Laptop + Desktop + TV. I'll soon be running Laptop + Dual Monitors with the Desktop and the TV, kind of pro. Well, that's once i get my DVI port. Anyways, this morning i woke up because of the plumber creating very loud ruckus in the washroom trying to fix our pipes and stuff. Well, anyways, i read my Google Reader a couple of times today and i actually couldn't find anything interesting to talk about, which sucked. Hmm, i pretty much just slacked here at home. I played WoW for a bit and i'll talk about that later. But, yes, i am going to eat some Swiss Chalet after i write this blog post. Mmm, can't wait. That was pretty much my whole day, either lying down or on my computer doing nothing.

So, earlier i played WoW for a bit. I gave Garthuk (Daniel) about 1645 gold. Since i'm not playing anyway, i figured that my gold might as well go to use. I still have 3000 gold left anyway, so it doesn't really matter. So, yes, as i posted last night, i am still level 70 due to Blizzard owning me and not allowing me to level. Anyways, i decided to PvP today. So, i did. Anyways, i PvP'd and went into AB (Arathi Basin). Argh, i'm getting distracted because i'm watching Family Guy. So yes, i went into AB and i quickly got 3 kills with 0 deaths. Keep in mind, i'm level 70 and i killed 2 level 75 players and a level 73. First off, i killed a level 75 Death Knight and then completely outplayed some other level 75 scrubby Mage. As soon, as that Mage died, a Druid started to attack me. I got away and had to start healing for a bit. I used Psychic Scream and went back into Shadowform. I disposed of him quickly with Shadow Word: Pain, Vampiric Embrace, Vampiric Touch, Mind Blast, Shadow Word: Death, Mind Flay and then another quick Mind Blast, Shadow Word: Death to win. There was nothing interesting about the rest of the battle, but i ended up getting 9 kills and only having 3 deaths. I think that was pretty good, seeing how there were level 78's in the fight.

New York Times has announced that their pick for Game of the Year is Grand Theft Auto 4. It's actually kind of sad and i'm ashamed to say this. But, i have actually never played any game of the GTA's series. It upsets me that i only get to watch other people, especially Jibril at lunch (scrub). But, it's okay, if i get PS3, it's yet another game i need to get. I think i have quite a lengthy list of games to get, if i ever end up getting PS3.

So, i recently blogged about the Dell Studio XPS 13, the laptop with a bit of leather on it. This laptop has actually shown up on the official Dell website with a $1,406 price tag. A quote off of engadget.com states that "It's currently showing among its laptop lineup, but trying to get to the individual product page gives us an error screen." This laptop is mighty sexy, but that price tag is quite large. Definitely not anything in my price range. Maybe when i actually have a job or career, i'll be able to afford some of this stuff i talk about.

Back to Family Guy for me, while eating some Swiss Chalet. Later days. Or later tonight.

[Edit at 7:03 p.m.] I just did the dumbest thing. I had a glue bottle in my hand, and it's enclosed in a clear case. I was squeezing the bottle so that the glue would just ooze out of the top and then come back in [Don't even say it]. I did it twice, but then the third time the glue bottle blew up. The glue splattered all over my arm and all over the ceiling. It started to drip off of the ceiling, luckily it wasn't over the top of my head. It was dripping off the ceiling, like, hmm. Like when you're in the shower, then you make a cup with your hands, then you let water fill it up and then you throw that water at the ceiling. It drips off of the ceiling and when it hits you, it's slightly colder than all the other water. Yeah, that's what it reminded me of. Anyways, i had to go and clean it up, the ceiling, the floor and my arm. It was gross, but still made me laugh. Now i know never to do something like that again...

Why Blizzard Why?

Labels: , ,

[Second time writing this, since last one deleted.] Well, Kasturion was resurrected at about 10:00 p.m. today. I started levelling him at about 11 p.m. My girlfriend stayed up with me all night waiting until i leveled. Well, i was excited, seeing that i was clearly going to be level 80 in less than 10 days time. Thanks to Blizzard for the free 10-day free trial. I'm about to own them. Little did i know, i was the one being wtfpwned. Anyways, I was updating my girlfriend every single time i handed in a new quest, i'd tell her my percentage to get to level 71 was. I'd get excited every single time i hand in a new quest because i could just feel the new level 71-ness. Anyways, at around 4:00 a.m. we got into an argument, so she went to sleep. Leaving me to level and stay up on my own. Anyways, around 4:23 a.m. i look at my level bar and it says 0:40 minutes to level. So, it was 40 seconds until i hit level 71. I pull 4 mobs because i'm pro. I kill all 4 and i didn't level, i was like, wth is going on. I look at my xp bar and it says 1 XP to level, so i go and attack another mob. I kill it successfully and realize that, Blizzard has just owned me. I can't level in the damn free trial, wtf. I don't know what the policy is and i'm too lazy to look for it. Seems to me that it's either you can't level at all in the free trial or you can't level over level 70. Either way, omg. I was so excited, but no. Blizzard ruined my fun.

If you want me to explain the picture, at the very bottom of the screen is the experience bar and as you can see it is full, all blue. And if you... nvm, it's too small. K, well, i look sexy, k? Anyways, argh, i'm mad now. That was 5 hours i'll never get back. Lucky my girlfriend's not here right now or she would be laughing at me right now. But, i still miss her... =(. Anyways, till tomorrow, bye.

God damned Blizzard, got my hopes up for nothing. =(.

Raptors, Street Fighter 4, Motorola Motoprizm, Starcraft 2 Battle Reports

Labels: , , , ,

After this blog post, i am finally going to play WoW on my priest, if i can. But, anyways, for the past 3 hours or so, i've been rearranging my room. And i must say that i did a pretty good job. As soon as i get a DVI port i'm going to be running dual monitors with my laptop on the side. Pro-gaming to the max right there. I'm actually going to watch the raps game tonight on my TV. It's not on Rogers tonight because they're showing the game on TSN 2, a channel that Rogers doesn't have atm (at the moment). I'm going to be streaming it from my laptop and running dual monitors with my TV with a VGA port, i'm all ready for it. I can't wait... but anyways, blogging time.

So, Capcom has finally showed the world what the Street Fighter's 4 Collector's Edition set will look like for North America. Due to many complaints from fan's about the previous box art, they also decided to change it. It will be retailing for $79.99 (probably USD). With this Collector's Edition you get: the game, a limited edition figurine [Ryu for PS3 owners, C. Viper for 360 owners], a strategy guide, a CD soundtrack and some secret downloadable content that kotaku.com will be revealing soon. I can't wait for this and is yet another reason i want a next-generation console... =(. Please Christmas, please.

So, i've actually been talking a lot about Motorola lately, but there are actually confirmed news today. Motorola, themselves, have actually revealed a new touchscreen phone called the Motoprizm. Gizmodo.com points out that it looks a bit like the Motorola Krave, with a couple of tweaks. This phone is packed with a 2.8 inch touchscreen, has Bluetooth capability and packs a 3 megapixel camera. I don't really like any Motorola phones, but this one looks good. It is a flip phone, but the flipping part of it is actually glass, or clear plastic that you can actually see through. It looks pretty good, in my opinion. Good job Motorola!

"Blizzard has launched the first of their Starcraft II Battle Reports, featuring a 20 minute Protoss versus Terran match in an early alpha of the game with a full commentary accompanying the action." I actually watched this video and it was pretty amazing. Obviously, in the end, the asian guy won, David Kim, who played as Terran. It was pretty amazing. I actually don't keep up with many Blizzard Starcraft II new gameplay videos, but these are definitely ones i will be watching. It will give me new strategies seeing how the developers play against each other. I noticed that the banshees looked pretty strong in this footage and i actually thought that the Protoss were going to win early on in the fight. Anyways, if you want to watch it, it's a 20 minute match between Protoss and Terran, as stated above. The gameplay looks good though, i'm not gonna lie. Blizzard does have this game attracting many fans already, just incase i needed to point that out. If you want to watch the match, the link is just below.

School Canceled, Google and IE, Playstation 4, T-Mobile G2

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Last night, i slept a bit before 4 in the morning, not playing WoW, since Daniel changed his keybinds and i was too lazy to change them back. Anyways, so i woke up at around 11 a.m. and called my girlfriend. I looked outside and realized that there was no way i was going to get to her house today. We originally planned to go to the mall to finish our Christmas shopping, but that didn't work because of how much snow dropped. The snow must've started at around 5 or 6 in the morning because it didn't start snowing when i fell asleep. Anyways, because of the snow i couldn't leave the house, so i decided to go back to sleep. I woke up at around 2 or something and read my Google Reader. I picked my articles for the day and soon after my girlfriend woke up. I shoveled the snow off my driveway but before that, i took a picture (see above). Kind of a blurry picture [thanks to my Nokia N81], but you can clearly see a crap load of snow, hence why school was canceled today. Anyways, after i shoveled i put the salt on the ground or whatever, so that any incoming snow would melt. Little did i know, that it wouldn't work today. Anyways, i took a shower while my pizza was baking in the oven. After i finished showering, i ate my pizza. After about an hour of slacking, changing my blogger theme and all that stuff, my mom calls me. She tells me that she's right outside the townhouse gate and that her car got stuck in the snow. So fail. But anyways, after i came to the rescue, i was back inside my warm, comfy house. I was about to start playing WoW on my priest when i just realized that i must first blog and rearrange my room, which will take a couple of [dirty, dusty] hours.

Anyways, moving on to Google. They are now being more aggressive and are trying to push many users away from Internet Explorer. "When users log into their Gmail using Internet Explorer a red text link appears at the top right of page saying 'get faster Google Mail.'" When you click on that link it takes you to a "Google answers page" that ends up suggesting that you should change your browser to either Google Chrome or Firefox 3.0. This is great because now Gmail users around the world will hopefully be switching their browsers to other faster ones like Chrome or Firefox. These people have to realize that there are faster and more efficient ways to surf the Internet. If everyone realized this, IE's market share would be much lower than it currently is. It's good that IE's market share has actually dropped to under 70% recently. Maybe the change is coming soon.

Sony has been denying this for a long time now, so again i am going to state that Sony denies plans on an upcoming Playstation 4. That's basically the whole story, but it just saddens me. But, it's also good that they're not focusing on a next console, since they still have to figure out ways to sell their current system, Playstation 3. Maybe they can even outsell the DS somehow with the PSP, but that doesn't look like it'll happen. Moving on.

There is a rumour spreading that the T-Mobile G2 will be coming out on January 26, 2009. I agree with the author who says that he doesn't believe it because the G1 has only been out for a few months and to have the G2 release so soon, would be insane. But, anyways, the rumours state that the second Google phone, the G2, will have a full touch screen, a 5 megapixel camera and a bunch of other stuff that i'm too lazy to name. No pictures have surfaced, but it's really unbelievable. If new rumours surface, i'll talk about it, but, i don't think the rumours are true.

How does my new layout look? Tell me. I want to know your opinion.

WoW 10-day Trial, Dell XPS 13 and 'Adamo'

Labels: , , ,

Omfg, very important news. I will soon be back on my priest, but only for 10 days. So, now that WotLK is out, Blizzard is releasing free 10-day free trials. "To be eligible for the trial, you'll need both the full version of World of Warcraft and the first expansion The Burning Crusade. The offer is only extended to current or past subscribers to WoW." Also, "Additionally, you have to have a character that's at least level 55 (in order to try out the new Death Knight class) or level 68 (in order to travel to the new continent of Northrend). For obvious reasons, you're limited to only one free trial per account." So, looks like, i will be on my priest soon. Hey, Daniel, read this soon! I'll probably start on Saturday. Because tomorrow i might be busy and Saturday is always a good day to start. Oh wait, i could even start on Friday night. Anyways, i'm excited to be on my priest soon, ahh, can't wait to play as Shadow. Anyways, i'll be back later [possibly]. WoW time, for real now.

Sexy Dell Laptops are on their way. The new Dell Studio XPS 13 and the 'Adamo.' The Dell Studio XPS 13 looks really slick and sexy. This upcoming laptop will have leather on it. At this point, i'm not sure where, but i do know that there are parts of leather on the back of the laptop. The upcoming Dell 'Adamo' will be the "world's thinnest laptop." Take that Macbook Air. "The Adamo will sport a black and silver color scheme." Engadget states that they are actually trying to work on getting some photos of the Dell 'Adamo.' So, be on the lookout for my blog about the 'Adamo' in the future.
