Archos Teases Phone Tablet Packing 4.3-Inch Touchscreen, 1GHz ARM CPU; Releasing in 2010

Labels: , , , , , ,

At Archos' event today, they shocked the world by teasing the Archos phone tablet. This handset is expected to have: a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with a 480 x 854 resolution, a 1GHz ARM CPU, and 3G connectivity. This is also going to run Android and it will reportedly be only 10mm thin. This is pretty amazing since the HTC Leo has the same size screen and it is monstrous in size. This handset is expected to be released sometime in 2010, so it's definitely something to look forward to.

Sony Ericsson Launching Something On September 21st -- Probably a Music Phone

Labels: ,

According to good ol' Sony Ericsson, they are going to change things "forever" starting on September 21st. Judging from the animation above, it will have something to do with music. Could it be a new "iPod-killer"? Probably not since this is Sony Ericsson. So, it's probably a music-oriented handset. I don't know what it could be, so we'll just have to wait until September 21st. I'm hoping it's the XPERIA X3, but I'm pretty certain it won't be an event for that. Check out Sony Ericsson's official promotion here.

Qiji Smartbook U1000 Is a 5-Inch MID Running WinMo 6.1

Labels: , , ,

What you see here is being touted as a smartphone, but since it has a 5-inch touchscreen display (800 x 480 resolution) I think it falls into the MID category. The Qiji Smartbook U1000 has: a 3MP camera, WiFi, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of ROM, a PXA300 628MHz CPU, WiFi, and it runs Windows Mobile 6.1. Unfortunately, it doesn't have 3G, it has a small amount of RAM, we don't know if it will be upgradeable to WinMo 6.5, and it looks like it will be too big to fit into a pocket. I don't know the price or release date right now.

EVGA InterView Dual-Monitors Now Shipping For As Low As $625

Labels: , ,

EVGA's InterView display is a pretty interesting one. As you can see above, it's a dual-monitor. Both monitors are 17-inches and you can use it in extra-wide mode for 34-inches of screen estate. Unfortunately, the resolution of the displays are only 1,440 x 990, so that's a slight let down. The inputs on the back are VGA and DVI, so you'll need two if you want to use both monitors for one PC. The EVGA InterView is now shipping for as low as $624.99 USD.
