HTC HD2 Likely Headed To T-Mobile USA In March 2010

Labels: , , , ,

We already know that the HTC HD2 will be coming to America in 2010, but we didn't know which carrier will launch it - although we did have a clue. Well, it looks like it'll likely be T-Mobile USA since the External Packages folder (above) state that US HD2 will have Windows Mobile 6.5 build 21689, Opera 9.7.0.35627, and Teeter 2.0. The usual specs are expected on this handset, like its beautiful 4.3-inch touchscreen display.

Capacitive Stylus For the HTC HD2 Has a Listing On Clove UK

Labels: , , , , ,

A couple of months ago we heard about a capacitive stylus from HTC. According to Clove UK, this stylus looks like it's on the way and it's for the HTC HD2. It won't be necessary to buy it but if you want to get it then go ahead. It should be available for £15 ($25 USD) when they launch it.

T-Mobile UK Releases the HTC HD2 For Free Too

Labels: , , , ,

Well, another carrier in Europe has just launched the HTC HD2. T-Mobile UK has the smartphone for free on a 2-year contract where you'll have to pay 35 Pounds ($58 USD) a month. This smartphone is available on their site here and comes with WinMo 6.5 of course.

If you're keeping track, that's 3 carriers in Europe that have the HD2 and zero for US. Don't worry, it's coming in 2010 though.

O2 UK Launches the HTC HD2; Will Be Upgradeable To Windows Mobile 7?

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Vodafone has had it for a little while, but O2 UK has just launched the HTC HD2 as well. This handset will be available for free on an 18-month contract, but you'll have to pay £45 monthly. Check it out on O2's site here - I can't navigate it because I'm not in the UK.

Along with this news, we're hearing that the HTC HD2 could actually be upgraded to WinMo 7 when it gets released. This is just a rumour at this point, but it could definitely be possible with its amazing spec sheet.

And the first carrier to launch the HTC HD2... it's Vodafone in the UK. It's available for free, of course, but you'll have to pay £35 a month on a 2-year contract or you can go with an 18-month contract but it'll cost you £40 monthly. I know you're interested so go on Vodafone's site and order one now before it sells out.

Although they have a very limited supply, DeviceWire is now shipping out the HTC HD2. Just like it says, "If you order this product before 4pm today, UK customers could expect delivery tomorrow." Great news, but remember it's 499 Pounds ($834 USD).

Vodafone UK Planning To Launch the HTC HD2 On November 13th?

Labels: , , , ,

According to this internal system leak, Vodafone in the UK could be planning on launching the HTC HD2 on November 13th. Could this be true? We'll just have to wait and see. Maybe Friday the 13th will be a good one for people in the UK.

T-Mobile UK Launching the HTC HD2 On November 23rd?

Labels: , , , ,

WMPowerUser talks about the HTC HD2 a whole lot, but I don't blame them. They seem to be reporting that T-Mobile UK will be launching this handset around the November 23rd date. There's not much news about it, but we should be seeing it by the end of this year - the end of this month if we're lucky enough.

HTC HD2 Headed To US in 2010, Now Available In Europe and Asia; T-Mobile Germany and UK Now Have Correct Listings

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

It's official, the HTC HD2 is really coming "to a major carrier" in the US in 2010. Along with this news, it's also now available in both Asia and Europe.

Update: According to WMPowerUser, it looks like T-Mobile Germany has updated their site with an HTC HD2 listing. Check it out here, and yes, there are no errors! At least, I don't think so. There'll be a "30 day trial of the Vanigon Europe satellite navigation package" and a 2GB microSD card in the box, which should be a good start for most users. Unfortunately, the price and release date hasn't been put up yet.

Update: According to a newer WMPowerUser post, T-Mobile UK has fixed their site. Check it out here.

T-Mobile UK Launching the HTC HD2 This Month, But They Get Their Product Page All Wrong

Labels: , , , , ,

It looks like even T-Mobile UK is confused about exactly what they are launching. Before I say anything, they have just briefly mentioned that they will be launching the HTC HD2 sometime this month - we heard November 6th. But, as you can see in the photo above, there are a lot of things wrong in this picture.

First, that's a picture of the original HTC Touch HD. Second, the label clearly says HTC Touch HD2, which is another error. The bullet points state that you'll be able to use the Android Market to download apps, which is incorrect since the HD2 is running WinMo 6.5. The "Huge 3.8' touchscreen" is also the wrong size since the HD2 has a 4.3-inch touchscreen display (the HTC Touch HD has a 3.8-inch display).

On a less serious note, maybe T-Mobile UK is launching that Android version of the Touch HD that we've been hearing about, but I doubt it.

Anyways, you must be confused as I am, but it looks like T-Mobile UK will clear this all up this week since they're going to make it all official on Wednesday. Let's hope they remember to change their product page too. Check out all of the errors on their website here.

T-Mobile UK Launching the HTC HD2 On November 6th -- Expansys Cuts Price of the HD2 To £500

Labels: , , , , ,

It looks like a new possible release date for the HTC HD2 on T-Mobile UK has just been spotted. As you can see in the above photo it clearly states that this handset will be available on November 6th, which is at the end of this week. It'll be yours if you're willing to pay £99 ($163 USD) for the phone plus a £35 ($58 USD) monthly fee - thanks to the contract - or you can get the device free on a massive £75 ($123 USD) monthly fee. Definitely not a cheap handset.

Update: According to WMPowerUser, Expansys has also slashed the price of their HTC HD2 pre-order for £499.99 ($822 USD). This listing states that it'll be available on November 11th. Check it out here.

HTC's CEO Mentions That They Are Not Releasing An HD2 With Android, Still Brewing Up Something Special

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

HTC's CEO, Peter Chou, has just announced that they will not be making an HTC HD2 with Android on it. We heard about these rumours back in early September, but it looks like those rumours panned out to be false. To me it doesn't really matter if they don't port Android into the HTC HD2 because we already know that HTC is planning something big for their future Android devices. We've repeatedly heard the rumour of the HTC Dragon / Passion that has the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU - if only it looked a little bit nicer though.

HTC HD2 Pops Up On O2's Website As An Option To Choose Accessories

Labels: , , , ,

Although it's not available yet, the HTC HD2 has just popped up on O2's website as an option to select an accessory. We still don't know when it will launch, but it's unofficially confirmed now. O2 customers are getting impatient at this point, so the bad news is that they'll have to wait a little big longer. US customers, on the other hand, have to wait until Q1 2010 to get their hands on this handset.

Amazon UK Lists the HTC HD2 For £549.99, Launching On November 20th

Labels: , , , ,

On Amazon UK, it looks like they now have a listing for the WinMo 6.5-powered HTC HD2. Their listing for the handset states that the unlocked model is available for £549.99 ($908 USD) and it's expected to be available on November 20th. Of course, you'll find better deals on Clove (here), on Play.com (here), and on Expansys they're offering it for the same price (here). Pre-order it where ever you want, but be sure to do it quick because I think this is a handset that will be in high demand - but low on stock. Anyways, you can check it out on Amazon UK's website here.

It looks like Orange will be launching the HTC HD2 in Romania this December. Yup. There's not much else for me to say.

HTC HD2 Available For Pre-Orders On Play.com, Shipping November 11th

Labels: , , , ,

In case you're looking for other unlocked deals on the HTC HD2 here's another one for ya. On Play.com here, they are taking pre-orders for the HD2 for £499.99 ($813 USD), which is slightly more expensive than both Expansys and Clove. Online retailers are continuously getting undercut, so the price is slowly, but surely, dropping. Play.com mentions that they expect to ship this handset on November 11th.

HTC HD2 Carrier To Be T-Mobile USA?

Labels: , , , , , ,

We already know that the HTC HD2 will be coming to the US in Q1 2010, but we never knew what carrier it would be, until now. According to what you see above the lucky carrier will be T-Mobile USA. Everything you know and love will be inside the HD2, so expect the 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and WinMo 6.5.

Labels: , , , ,

Vodafone Spain has just announced that they plan to launch the HTC HD2 (Leo) in December this year. The bad news is that this handset will be exclusively available to their business customers, which a big bummer. Let's hope that it also gets launched to normal customers shortly after though.

I've already reported that this handset is available for pre-orders on Clove UK. Well, now we're hearing that it'll launch unlocked starting on November 11th. Check out the £469 ($739 USD) pre-orders here.

HTC HD2 Shows Off Extended Battery On Video

Labels: , , , ,

A new video spotted online shows off the HTC HD2 (Leo), but it even gives us a sneak peek of the extended battery. It pops out a bit, but I'm sure it'll still be thinner than my Nokia N81 which is roughly just under 18mm - I believe. This is looking like a great phone and if you're interested in check it out, go to the link below for the video.
