HTC Eternity Leaks; WP7, 1.5GHz CPU, and 4.7-Inch Display

A new HTC phone has leaked today and this one's the Eternity. Surprisingly enough, it's not running Android. Yes, WP7 fans this one's for you! Apparently, this will be a WP7 superphone which packs a gargantuan 4.7-inch Super LCD WVGA display, a single-core 1.5GHz CPU, an 8MP AF camera with a dual-LED flash, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, 16GB of storage, DLNA / Bluetooth / WiFi support, GPS, and a 1,650mAh battery. The version of Windows Phone 7 that this will launch with is unknown right now but hopefully it'll be "Mango" since that's the update that will take advantage of the front-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy Z Unveiled; 4.2-Inch Display and Tegra 2

If you want something a little bit lower-end than the Galaxy S II then Samsung has you covered. Today they have unveiled the Galaxy Z which features a 4.2-inch SC-LCD display, a Tegra 2 CPU, a 5MP camera, a front-facing camera, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 9.5mm thin body, and the Android OS. The smartphone was announced today in Sweden and should be available in a few weeks.

MSI CX480 Notebook Gets Official, Mum On the Price and Release Date

MSI has just announced their 14-inch CX480 notebook but, obviously, didn't announce a price or a release date for it. Oh well. The notebook does feature Intel Core i3 / i5 CPU options, a Nvidia GeForce 520M GPU, an optional USB 3.0 port, HDMI / VGA outputs, up to a 640GB HDD, a bunch of RAM, and a 6-cell battery. It should be available before the school season kicks back in so hopefully the company releases it soon.

Motorola Announces the MT870 Android Phone In China With Tegra 2

In China, Motorola has announced yet another Android handset. This time it's the MT870 which is the first dual-core TD-SCDMA Android phone ever! The smartphone features a 4-inch qHD display, a Tegra 2 CPU, an 8MP camera, a front-facing camera, WiFi / Bluetooth support, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 512MB of RAM, and Android 2.3.3 "Gingerbread". It has a fairly unique design on the back, but I would've liked it better if it was all black. This handset will be available in July - next month, for 4,680 RMB which is around $725 USD.

Acer Prepping Sliding 10-Inch Android Tablet For Q4

DigiTimes is sparking another rumour about a new sliding tablet from Acer. Apparently, said tablet will be running the Android OS and could launch in Q4 of this year. This tablet is rumoured to be packing a 10-inch display as well as an ARM-based CPU which isn't surprising.Well, we'll have to wait for this one to get official which could be a few months away.

These two devices above from RIM should look familiar. Yup, that's the BlackBerry Storm 3 and the Bold Touch 9900 smiling for the camera. Furthermore, they're both reportedly running on Telus' network in Canada so it looks like that carrier will be launching both of these smartphones. Specs for the Storm 3 are still unknown right now so we'll have to wait for the official word from RIM.

Sprint Officially Announces the Conquer 4G Smartphone

Sprint in the US has just made another one of their upcoming Android phones official. What you see above is the Samsung Conquer 4G which, obviously, has WiMAX connectivity as well as a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The smartphone features a 3.5-inch display with a 320 x 480 resolution, a 1GHz CPU, a 3.2MP camera, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, Sprint ID, and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread". The price is unknown right now but it's a mid-end handset since mobile phones are evolving so fast with dual-core CPUs with bigger and crisper displays. The release date is also unknown so we'll all have to wait for that one.

Verizon Taking Pre-Orders For the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G

It looks like you can now pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G from Verizon if you're interested. The tablet features a thin body, a 10.1-inch display, LTE (4G), and Android "Honeycomb". The 16GB model is priced at $499 and the 32GB one is $599. The tablet is said to be shipping in the next four to six weeks so it looks like you'll still have to wait more than a month. Pop Herald has picked up a blurry image of an unannounced Motorola smartphone. Early rumours are saying that this could be the upcoming DROID Bionic but it looks a whole lot like the DROID 3. It could be the former though, because the DROID 3's front-facing camera is on the right side of the device and the smartphone pictured above has its FFC on the left side.

Bell, Sasktel, and Virgin Mobile Announce the Galaxy S II For Canada

Three carriers in Canada have officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S II which isn't surprising since it should be launching soon and should hit just about every carrier imaginable. Bell has mentioned that the smartphone will be launching in a few weeks (possibly July 14th) and will have HSPA+ connectivity. This is one of the best smartphones that have been announced thus far and should put up a pretty good fight against the upcoming iPhone from Apple.

SaskTel has also announced that they'll be releasing this smartphone in a couple of weeks and actually leaked that it'll be available for just $79.99 on a 3-year contract which is a great deal. Virgin has also mentioned that if you pre-order the smartphone then you'll be able to get a "special offer" with it. The special offer is unknown right now so that's a surprise.

RIM Cancels 10-Inch Playbook In Favour For a "Superphone"?

N4BB has snagged some exclusive information on some future details regarding RIM. Apparently, the company was working on a 10-inch BlackBerry Playbook with 4G but it's reportedly been axed. This is because RIM is now, apparently, focusing on a "superphone" with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display and a 1.2GHz CPU. Not very superphone-esque so hopefully they can get their hands on a dual-core CPU of some sort. I'm excited to see what RIM can come up with because they're slowly fading away in the mobile space.

There was a rumour going around yesterday about Sprint and Motorola working on an upgraded XPRT smartphone and the price about could be it. Pop Herald snagged the photo of said smartphone and it's rumoured to feature "Gingerbread" as well as WiMAX support. Of course, it also has the QWERTY keyboard which some people love. Nokia Launching 4 New Symbian Smartphones With 1GHz CPUs? One Of Them Gets Pictured

It looks like Nokia could be prepping a few (four) new Symbian smartphones. Said smartphones may actually feature 1GHz CPUs which is great for the mid-end market. The N700 Zeta is said to be sporting a 3.2-inch AMOLED display along with NFC tech. Moving along, the 701 (Helen) may have a 3.5-inch Clear Black display (possibly LCD) and an 8MP camera. This one is said to be the successor to the Nokia C7.

The Cindy is also said to feature a 3.2-inch AMOLED display and NFC tech but it also has a 5MP camera as well. Last, but not least, there's the 500 (Fate) which is said to feature a 5MP camera. The 500 may actually be the N5 that leaked yesterday so don't be surprised if that's the case.

Update: According to GSM Arena, the photo above is the Nokia (Zeta) N700 so feast your eyes on that one for now.

13.1-Inch Sony Vaio Z Unveiled In Europe, Launching In July

Sony has just unveiled their Vaio Z in Europe and it's exactly like the shots we saw yesterday. This time the specs are clearly outlined for everyone to love. The ultraportable notebook features a 13.1-inch display (1,600 x 900 resolution, an Intel Core i7 CPU, a 256GB SSD, up to 8GB of RAM, Intel's HD 3000 graphics, WiFi a/b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, a 1.3MP webcam, Light Peak (aka Thunderbolt), USB 3.0 ports, a 0.86-inch thin and 2.6 pound body, and up to 7 hours of battery life. There's also an optional sheet battery which will give you up to 14 hours of life if you need that.

As rumoured, there'll be an external dock that you can puchase, dubbed the Power Media Dock. The dock packs AMD Radeon 6650M graphics, USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI outputs, and even an optical drive. The notebook is said to be available in Europe this July so you might want to wait around for it. Unfortunately, the price is unknown right now.

We heard about it just a few days ago and now we know that the QWERTY-packing Nokia X2-01 will be hitting Rogers. The Canadian carrier should be launching it soon but the price is still unknown. It could be on their prepaid line-up but that's unconfirmed right now.

Yet another handset is headed North of the border and it'll be the HTC Salsa. This handset was officially announced earlier this year and has Facebook integration along with the Android OS. The handset features a 3.4-inch display, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash, a front-facing camera, an 800MHz CPU, and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" with the Sense UI. T-Mobile USA Finally Announces the myTouch 4G Slide With Advanced 8MP Camera

It's finally official! T-Mobile USA has just announced the myTouch 4G Slide which features a 3.7-inch WVGA Super LCD display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and Android 2.3 with the Sense UI. That's not all though. The 8MP camera (1080p video recording) on the back is said to be the most advanced camera in a mobile device and features tech that's similar to the camera on the Nokia N9. A new handset has leaked on the interwebs and it's the image you see above. Apparently, what you see here is the upcoming Nokia N5 which will feature the Symbian "Anna" OS. This one appears to be sporting a 3.2-inch display, a 5MP camera with an LED flash, and could also come in black and white models. The handset will be available soon and will be followed by the N6 and the N7. Symbian is dying but the company is trying to keep it alive for little bit longer - until their WP7 handsets are ready.

Here's an interesting piece of news. Apparently, Samsung could be planning to release an upgraded Galaxy S II this September - even though it hasn't hit North America yet. Inside the normal model is a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU and in September they could be upgrading the CPU to a dual-core 1.4GHz one which will be a bit faster, obviously. Maybe this model will also feature NFC support which will, just about, make it the perfect device for the meantime.

The rumour mill is swirling again. BGR is reporting that Google's next Nexus device (not pictured above, that's a Nexus S) could be called the Nexus Prime and will, again, be made by Samsung. This is different from past rumours which told us that it'll be made by LG. Moving along, the superphone is said to feature a Super AMOLED HD (720p) display, a dual-core TI OMAP4460 1.5GHz CPU, and Android "Ice Cream Sandwich". Hopefully it'll also have essential things like NFC, a front-facing camera, and a high-end rear camera as well. This one could be on pace for a Fall release and will possibly clash with the next iPhone.

An analyst is telling us that there could actually be two new iPhone models this September. Apparently, both the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 will launch this year. The 4S is said to feature the same body as the 4 and will be part of a prepaid line-up which may cost $349 contract-free - a great price. The 5 is said to be the major update which will sport better specs than the 4S which is also great. Sprint's Q3 Roadmap Leaks; Galaxy S II, Epic 4G Successor; BlackBerrys Too

Q3 starts in a week (July) and there's a leaked roadmap for the occasion - coming from This Is My Next. The roadmap includes Sprint's upcoming Epic 2 along with the Galaxy Within aka the Galaxy S II. Apparently, the Epic 2 which is the Epic 4G successor will feature a 4-inch display, a 1.2GHz single-core CPU, an 8MP camera, Android, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The Galaxy S II, on the other hand, will be exactly what we've been waiting for and will also feature WiMAX connectivity which is great.

In Q3 of this year you can also expect the BlackBerry Bold Touch as well as another touchscreen BlackBerry (Monaco). Apparently, there'll also be a new push-to-talk BlackBerry that should be launching soon. You can also expect some Kyocera / Sanyo phones in Q3.

According to DigiTimes, Asus could be prepping a 13-inch Android netbook - yep, not a Chromebook. Apparently, Nvidia will be powering this one with their own quad-core ARM CPU so it could actually house a Tegra 3 chipset. Other specs for this one are unknown right now but hopefully it packs a touchscreen display because you won't really want to navigate through the Android OS with a touchpad.

Sharp looks like they're almost set to launch their latest Android handset, the SH8188U. It's pictured above and it's said to feature a WVGA LCD display, a 5MP camera with an LED flash, a front-facing camera, a 1GHz CPU, an HDMI output, and Android 2.3.4. These pictures make the phone look cheap so hopefully Sharp touches it up for the press photos. In the next few weeks you can expect Lenovo to announce two new tablets. You can expect the IdeaPad K1, which will run Android as well as a ThinkPad tablet which could be running Windows 7. The K1 is expected to feature a 10.1-inch display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, a Tegra 2 CPU, and Android "Honeycomb" It should be priced at $499 but the internal storage is still unknown. Not much is known about the ThinkPad tablet so we'll have to wait for details on that one.

Archos Announces Affordable "Honeycomb" Tablets, Starting At $279

Archos has announced two new tablets that aren't lacking on the spec sheet and they're actually affordable which is great for everyone! What you see above is the 8-inch 80 G9 and the 10-inch 101 G9 which are pretty impressive. They both feature a dual-core TI OMAP 1.5GHz CPU, a front-facing camera, a kickstand, an HDMI output, Android "Honeycomb", access to the Android Market, and Google Mobile Apps. These are both set to launch in late September and the base models for each will be $279 and $349, respectively.

The smaller model features a 1,024 x 768 resolution while the larger one sports a 1,280 x 800 one. They both also have 16GB models as well as a 250GB HDD option which will add 3mm to the thickness and a bit of weight. Either way, they're pretty darn good deals so you might want to try one out and pick one up if you're satisfied.

NFC may not be an industry standard in cell phones yet but Huawei is trying their best to make it so. They have unveiled the Huawei Sonic in Turkey and they have announced that it'll cost just €150 ($215 USD). The handset features a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, NFC, and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" which is actually pretty decent. Of course, it's not as good as the high-end Android phones out there but it's great if you're on a tight budget.

HTC EVO 3D and EVO View 4G Now Available On Sprint

Today is June 24 and Sprint in the US has just released the HTC EVO 3D as well as the HTC EVO View 4G. The former is a high-end smartphone with 3D capabilities while the latter is the Flyer with WiMAX connectivity. They're now available for $199.99 and $399.99 on a 2-year contract, respectively. Thankfully, the tablet comes with the stylus and features a 1.5GHz Qualcomm CPU. If you're looking to pick either one of these up then you might want to read a few reviews first.

Future Shop Canada Taking Pre-Orders For the Bell HTC Sensation and Telus LG Optimus Black

Future Shop Canada has just put up two great smartphones up for pre-order. They're the Bell HTC Sensation 4G (with HSPA+) and Telus' LG Optimus Black. It's unknown when both phones will launch but they should be available in early July. Check them out here and here if you've been waiting for one of these, but keep in mind that you're going to have to walk into the store and put a $50 deposit down if you actually want to pre-order them.

Engadget Gets a Hands-On With Imerj's Prototype Android Device With Dual-Displays

Here's an interesting device that Engadget has managed to get their hands-on. No, it's not the Kyocera Echo but it's pretty clear that they have their similarities. It's reportedly a prototype from Imerj and Frog which are two companies who I've never heard of before. The device you see above is said to be sporting two 4-inch AMOLED displays, a dual-core TI OMAP CPU, 32GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP camera which you'll be able to use for the front and the back, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a skinned Android 2.3. WIND Mobile Releases the LG Optimus 2X and the Huawei U6150

WIND Mobile has brought two phones to Canada today and they're the LG Optimus 2X and the Huawei U6150 which we knew would be launching soon. Obviously, the phones are priced at $445 and $98, respectively, contract-free. The Optimus 2X is clearly the better phone packing a 4-inch display, a Tegra 2 CPU, and the Android 2.2 OS. However, if you want a cheap text messaging phone then you might want to choose the U6150 instead. Check them out on WIND Mobile here and here.
