Rogers Releasing the HTC EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D This Summer

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Rogers in Canada has just announced that they'll be launching two Android 3D smartphones this Summer. The carrier has just told everyone that they'll be releasing the HTC EVO 3D as well as the LG Optimus 3D. Both of these smartphones pack a 4.3-inch 3D display, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, a 5MP 3D camera, a front-facing camera, and the Android OS.

However, there are a few differences. The EVO 3D packs a qHD display which is a higher resolution than the WVGA one found on the Optimus 3D. The EVO also packs a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU along with Android 2.3 while the Optimus has a slower dual-core 1GHz CPU and just Android 2.2.

Leaked Photos Point To 10-Inch HTC Tablet and Holiday, Rider, Glacier Smartphones

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

PocketNow got a hold of new photos regarding upcoming HTC devices and there's 4 of them. The first device is pictured above which is a tablet being called the "Puccini", while the other three are below and should be looking quite familiar. First of all, the tablet above is said to be sporting a 10-inch display so it should be sporting Android 3.0 "Honeycomb" along with 4G connectivity - possibly HSPA+ but they're saying it'll be for AT&T's future LTE network.

Moving along we have the smartphones: Holiday, Rider, and Glacier. The Holiday's specs are unknown right now but it looks like very other HTC phone that has been announced / released. To me, this looks like the Inspire 4G but that can't be it since they already released that smartphone a few months ago. This one sports a front-facing camera and could have 4G support.

Next up is the Rider which is reportedly the EVO 3D for carriers overseas - without the ugly circle around the four capacitive buttons. This one should feature a 4.3-inch qHD 3D display, 1GB of RAM, a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, and 1080p Full HD video recording. This one's reportedly headed to Korea via KT.

Last, but not least, there's the HTC Glacier which is reportedly the myTouch 4G scheduled for a launch in Europe. In case you forgot, this one features a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 1GHz CPU, 768MB of RAM, and a 5MP camera.

HTC Holding An Event On April 12th; Pyramid, "Honeycomb" Tablets, Or European EVO 3D?

Labels: , , , ,

HTC wants us to join them "to see what's next" on April 12th which is in two weeks. The event starts at 1:30PM GMT which is 8:30AM ET - that's early. Okay, so now it's time to speculate what'll be announced. It could be a number of things: the HTC Pyramid or some "Honeycomb" based tablets. To be honest, it doesn't really which one they announce because I'm looking forward to both. Engadget is guessing that it could be something mediocre like a European EVO 3D launch which would be upsetting.

GSM HTC EVO 3D Listed For $699, But Gets Quickly Pulled

Labels: , , , , ,

A couple of days ago we heard about the HTC EVO 3D with GSM connectivity and it looks like MobileCityOnline has just confirmed it. At least they did - it's been pulled since then. Pre-orders were up for $699.99 which is pretty expensive but then again it is one of the first 3D phones out there and you won't need glasses for it.

If you never picked up an HTC EVO 4G then you might be in luck. Sprint officially announced the EVO 3D today and it's a huge upgrade over the old model. HTC EVO 3D's Spec Sheet Leaks Ahead Of CTIA Announcement

Labels: , , , , , , ,

It looks like HTC's security wasn't enough to keep PocketNow from snapping the photo above. Yup, those are the leaked specs for the soon to-be-announced EVO 3D which is headed to Sprint. Specs reportedly include a 4.3-inch 3D display with a 960 x 540 resolution, a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, a 5MP camera with a flash and 1080p HD (2D) video recording with 720p (3D) video recording, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, and Android with the Sense UI. It's a pretty good spec sheet, I wonder if it'll have WiMAX as well.

Sprint's CTIA Announcements Leak: HTC EVO 3D, EVO View 4G, Motorola XOOM, BB Playbook

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Well, Sprint's CTIA announcements have just been spoiled. BGR has just broke the news that they'll be announcing the HTC EVO 3D, EVO View 4G, Motorola XOOM, the Samsung Rant 3, and a WiFi-only BlackBerry Playbook as well as one with WiMAX connectivity. Pretty awesome stuff. Now, let's get into the specs, shall we?

First off, we have the EVO 3D which is said to feature a 4.3-inch qHD 3D display (960 x 540 resolution), a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 8660 CPU, a 5MP camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, a 1,730mAh battery, an HDMI port that will output 1080p and even 720p video, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of ROM, and Android 2.3 with the Sense UI. The smartphone is also said to have the Blockbuster 3D app as well as YouTube 3D. If you're buying into the 3D trend then this may actually be the phone for you.

Next up is reportedly the EVO View 4G. This one will be sporting a 7-inch display (1,024 x 600 resolution), an aluminum unibody, a 5MP camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, a 4,000mAh battery, DLNA, HDMI output, and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" with the Sense UI. It's pretty much exactly like we've been hearing. An HTC Flyer with WiMAX capabilities. Not exactly the best tablet on the market.

Moving along we have the XOOM which will be exactly like the Verizon model but it'll have WiMAX capabilities instead. No clue if it'll initially ship with the device. There's also word on the Samsung Rant 3 which is the most uninteresting of the bunch. This one is said to be a 3G touchscreen handset which is reportedly eco-friendly since it'll have a solar panel on the door... or something like that. The last one is the BlackBerry Playbook which Sprint will be announcing. It'll come in two models, like I said: WiFi-only and WiMAX. I'm assuming there'll be a regular 3G model as well. Definitely quite a big showing for Sprint, so this event should be exciting.
