KT's Spider Phone Packs a Dual-Core 1.5GHz CPU, Docks Into Laptop, Tablet, Or Gamepad

Labels: , , , , , ,

Something very interesting was at IFA this year and it's Korea Telecom's Spider Phone. It's quite the smartphone since it features a 4.5-inch display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, an 8MP camera, a 3MP front-facing camera, Android 2.3.4, microHDMI / microUSB ports, and even a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU which should be pretty darn speedy. The carrier mentioned that this should be available this November for $600 so you might want to start packing your bags and heading over to Korea.

That's not all it can do though. You'll be able to slide it into a laptop to use as a trackpad, you can slide it into a 10.1-inch tablet, or you can even put it into a gamepad if you want to game on your Spider Phone using a PSP-like form factor. The laptop dock's price is unknown right now but you'll be able to pick u the gamepad for just $22 while the tablet dock will cost you $300.

Leaked Photos Point To 10-Inch HTC Tablet and Holiday, Rider, Glacier Smartphones

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

PocketNow got a hold of new photos regarding upcoming HTC devices and there's 4 of them. The first device is pictured above which is a tablet being called the "Puccini", while the other three are below and should be looking quite familiar. First of all, the tablet above is said to be sporting a 10-inch display so it should be sporting Android 3.0 "Honeycomb" along with 4G connectivity - possibly HSPA+ but they're saying it'll be for AT&T's future LTE network.

Moving along we have the smartphones: Holiday, Rider, and Glacier. The Holiday's specs are unknown right now but it looks like very other HTC phone that has been announced / released. To me, this looks like the Inspire 4G but that can't be it since they already released that smartphone a few months ago. This one sports a front-facing camera and could have 4G support.

Next up is the Rider which is reportedly the EVO 3D for carriers overseas - without the ugly circle around the four capacitive buttons. This one should feature a 4.3-inch qHD 3D display, 1GB of RAM, a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, and 1080p Full HD video recording. This one's reportedly headed to Korea via KT.

Last, but not least, there's the HTC Glacier which is reportedly the myTouch 4G scheduled for a launch in Europe. In case you forgot, this one features a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 1GHz CPU, 768MB of RAM, and a 5MP camera.

4.3-Inch LG Optimus Big Leaks, On Its Way To Korea

Labels: , , ,

Coming from Xportsnews is word on a new LG smartphone that'll be running Android. Beside the iPhone above is reportedly the Optimus Big which features a 4.3-inch display which is pretty much as big as it gets right now - rivals a few HTC phones. Sources say that this smartphone features just a 1GHz single-core CPU, a T-DMB TV tuner, and a NOVA display which has 700 nits of brightness. Since it'll have that TV tuner, this one may actually only hit Korea unless the company wants to make another variant for the rest of the world.

This is the 14-inch (1,366 x 768 resolution) QX412 notebook and it has just been announced in Korea this morning. Inside you'll find an Intel Core i5-2410M CPU, 3GB of DDR3 RAM, Bluetooth 3.0 support, USB 3.0 ports, a 320GB HDD, GeForce GT520 GPU, a 6-cell battery, a 1.3MP webcam, and Windows 7. This one's looking pretty good right now but the price and release date wasn't announced.

LG Now Shipping 3DTVs In Korea With Passive 3D Glasses

Labels: , , ,

LG is now shipping the LW5700 TV in Korea and this may not sound like anything good but it is if you love 3D. This TV is an LCD model and you'll need "flicker free" passive 3D glasses to see your favourite objects pop out at you. These 3D glasses are much cheaper than those "active shutter" ones so you might even be able to buy one for the whole family if you want to watch UP over and over again. Furthermore, LG plans to ship 3DTVs like this to the US starting next month - March. Unfortunately, price hasn't been mentioned yet.

South Korea Gets the LG Optimus 2X, White Model Coming In February

Labels: , , , , , , ,

One of the most powerful smartphones has just hit South Korea - the home of StarCraft. Yes, I'm talking about the LG Optimus 2X, which features a dual-core Tegra 2 chipset along with a camera that's capable of recording 1080p HD video content. Like I said, this is available right now and the company has teased a white model which will reportedly be available in February.

Samsung M190S Android Smartphone Hitting SK Telecom Soon

Labels: , , , , , ,

A new Android device from Samsung is going to hit South Korea in the near future. What you see above is a photo of the M190S which is going to have a 4-inch Super AMOLED WVGA display, a 1GHz CPU, a 5MP camera, a T-DMB TV tuner, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, an HDMI output, and Android 2.2. This smartphone will be hitting SK Telecom in the near future.

This is actually fairly funny. The Samsung Galaxy S (i9000) looks like the iPhone of the past while this one actually resembles an iPhone 4. Samsung also has their notebook that looks similar to a MacBook Pro. I've given Samsung the benefit of the doubt before, but it's pretty clear that they're trying to copy Apple.

Dell Venue Hitting Korean Carrier, KT, Later This Month With Android 2.2

Labels: , , , , , ,

Known as the Dell Thunder when it first leaked out, the Dell Venue has been officially announced by the carrier KT, in Korea. The Dell Venue is quite similar to the Windows Phone 7 powered Venue Pro, but it doesn't have the slide-out portrait QWERTY keyboard and it actually runs Android 2.2. So, that means you still get a 4.1-inch touchscreen WVGA (Gorilla Glass) display, a microSD card slot, WiFi / Bluetooth support, an upgraded 8MP AF camera with an LED flash and 720p HD video recording, and a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU. This handset will be available on the carrier later this month and should cost you around 700,000 won ($608 USD). This is the only launch we know of right now so if it is North American bound, we'll likely find out early next year.

Samsung GT-i9200 Takes Some 8MP Photos and Uploads Them On Picasa

Labels: , , , , , ,

The photos you see above and below (and more on the website) are reportedly taken with the Samsung GT-i9200's 8MP camera. I believe that this will be the successor to the Galaxy S line-up and it'll be shipping with Android sometime in early 2011. These pictures were spotted on Picasa and were uploaded by JuBong Lee who may have been in Korea since there is a picture below showing an Anycall handset. Well, this one should be something to wait for so we should be hearing more and more about it over the next few weeks / months.

3.8-Inch LG LU3000 Smartphone Breaks Loose; Raising the Standards (1080p Video Recording) -- With Video!

Labels: , , , , ,

LG has just revealed their latest Android-based smartphone, dubbed the LU3000. This one's going to be hitting Korea-only (for now, at least) and actually packs quite the spec sheet making it the smartphone to catch up to. Specs include: a 3.8-inch IPS WVGA touchscreen display, a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash (with 1080p Full HD video capture), an HDMI port, a 1GHz TI OMAP 360 CPU, and version 2.2 of the Android OS. Hopefully, this will hit other regions in the near future as well because this one's looking like the Galaxy S 2's first competition.

Update: Check out the video that leaked below as well! This shows it against the Galaxy S and the iPhone 4. It wins, silently and decisively.

LG XOXO Smartphone Sports a 3.8-Inch Display With a 1,024 x 480 Resolution

Labels: , ,

LG has shown off a new phone that is intended for the Korean Market. Dubbed the XOXO, short for Hugs & Kisses, the best part about this smartphone may be its 3.8-inch touchscreen display which sports a 1,024 x 480 resolution. The resolution may not beat the iPhone 4's retina display but this definitely does sport a wide angle for watching movies. Other specs include a 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities, WiFi support, and DivX support. This is available in Korea right now for 700,000 Korea won which is about $610 USD.

LG LEX8 3DTV Set To Launch At IFA This Year, Slimmest LED TV Ever!

Labels: , , , , , , ,

LG is set to unveil something pretty amazing and likely quite expensive at IFA 2010 in a couple of days. What you see above is the LG LEX8 which sports Nano LED backlighting and it'll be a 3DTV. This will be the slimmest LED TV in the world with its .88cm thick body along with a 1.25cm bezel, unless some other company steals the show. This 3DTV will, of course, have support for LG's NetCast widgets and will also come with the new Magic Motion remote. It'll be hitting Germany and Korea sometime next month (September), but the price is still unknown.
