New LG Handset Leaks With Two Displays, US Exclusive?

Labels: , , , ,

Coming from Pocket-Lint is the interesting device from LG that you see above. This handset just surfaced at an event in the UK and apparently it'll be a US exclusive. A confirmed name for this one is unknown right now but it could be the LG Q, Optimus Slider, Maxx Q, or even the Flip II. This smartphone features a touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a secondary display in a unique position.

Specs are unknown right now but the secondary display that's in the middle of the hardware keyboard has eight shortcuts to Android apps. Right now the customization of the secondary display is still unknown. It seems like an interesting concept though.

Bell has just told us what we all wanted to know - if you live in Canada. The HTC Sensation will reportedly be hitting Bell in the next few weeks. Contract-free price is looking like it'll be $549.95 which isn't too bad for one of the best smartphones on the year. The Sensation features a 4.3-inch qHD display, a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, an 8MP camera, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, a microSD card slot, WiFi / Bluetooth support, and Android 2.3 with the new Sense UI.

Update: Mobile Syrup has also mentioned that Virgin Mobile will be releasing this one as well.

Panasonic's Rugged Android Tablet Will Be a Toughbook, Q4 Release

Labels: , , ,

Panasonic has just shown off their latest Toughbook but it's not a laptop this time around. This time it's an Android tablet which will likely be the most rugged one on the market. This features a 10.1-inch display, GPS, 3G / 4G connectivity, and Android 2.x. It's sad that this one might not launch with "Honeycomb" but maybe things will change before the expected release in Q4. We're also still waiting for a full spec sheet for this one.
