BenQ Launches Joybook Lite U121 Eco Laptop in Asia

Labels: , , ,

BenQ has just released its latest laptop, the Joybook Lite U121 Eco. Since it has an 11.6-inch display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, you can call it either a netbook or a notebook - I don't really care. BenQ slapped on 'Eco' since 25% of its materials are recycled. The Joybook U121 Eco has: an Atom Z-Series CPU, 2GB of RAM, an SSD and an HDD (Hybrid technology), WiFi, Blueooth, a 1.3MP webcam, an optional 3.75G HSDPA/HSUPA modem, and a 6-cell battery.

This laptop features BenQ's "Q-Charge" (Quick Charge) which is designed to recharge your battery for up to 6 hours of use after charging it for only 1 hour. The 6-cell battery is designed to last up to 8 hours on a full charge. This laptop is now available in a few countries in Asia for £330 ($546 USD) and BenQ is "considering" launching this laptop in Europe in the future.

HP Mini 5101 Netbook Now Available For $399

Labels: , ,

The HP Mini 5101 netbook is now available for $399 USD. Two models of the 5101 netbook are now available, the VJ907AA and the FM955UT, but surprisingly enough, they have the exact same spec sheet. However, the VJ907AA costs $525 USD which could be an error on HP's listings.

The specs are as follows: a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, an Intel Atom 1.66GHz N280 CPU, integrated GMA 950 graphics, a 2MP webcam, three USB 2.0 slots, a VGA output, an SD card slot, WiFi a/b/g/n, Blueooth 2.0, and a 4-cell battery which lasts 4.5 hours. This netbook, of course, runs Windows XP Home and I think it's one of the more attractive netbooks out there, especially since it has a chiclet keyboard. This netbook is now available for $399 USD, so check it out at HP's official website here.

This netbook has been quite a while now and for whatever reason Toshiba wants to attract more buyers. The Toshiba NB200 netbook was launched in three colours: white, brown, and black; However, Toshiba is going to release two new colours: pink and blue. There's no word on when these new colours will be available, but it shouldn't be too long of a wait.
