HP and Palm Release the Pre 2 In Europe

Labels: , , ,

As expected, HP and Palm have just released the WebOS 2.0 based Pre 2 smartphone in Germany. If you're really in the mood to get it then be prepared to pay anywhere between £399 ($644 USD) and €499 ($683 USD) because the carriers have actually rejected to carry the smartphone so you'll have to pay the unsubsidized fee. It had potential but this will definitely slow down the sales a whole bunch. Check it out here.

Eldar Gets His Hands On the Samsung Galaxy 2 (i9100) and Says They Have Dual-Core CPUs

Labels: , , , , , , ,

I don't believe much that comes from Eldar Murtazin's mouth (or any of his tweets) but this one's quite interesting. Apparently, he has been playing with a Sony Ericsson Anzo (or Anzu) and a Samsung Galaxy 2 aka the I9100. He mentions that the Samsung phone is advanced because it reportedly features a dual-core CPU. Of course, this smartphone (if true) should be the next Galaxy S batch because the current ones have the model number I9000. This isn't confirmation that the Nexus S will have the same dual-core CPUs but I'm crossing my fingers for that to be the case. Check out the tweet here.

HTC Trying To Trademark the Name "HTC EVO Shift 4G", Another Smartphone On the Way!

Labels: , , , ,

Although we haven't heard about it before, HTC is currently trying to trademark the name HTC EVO Shift 4G. Like I said, we have no clue what this smartphone will be but, as the name suggests, it'll be a 4G phone that should be in HTC's EVO line-up. Maybe this one will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard of some sort because if you do remember the HTC Shift (link goes to GSM Arena) had one.

Coming from a YouTube video is word on two new Windows Phone 7 handsets hitting the market. Apparently, they're the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X7 and the X7 Mini. The former is rumoured to feature a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon MSM8260 CPU, an 8.1MP camera with 720p HD video recording, and an HDMI output. On the other hand, there's the X7 Mini which is rumoured to have a 3.5-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz Snapdragon QSD8250 CPU, noise cancellation headphones in the box, a 10.1MP camera with a xenon flash, 3x optical zoom, and 720p HD video recording.

This is pretty impressive and should be hitting the market in early 2011 since this is actually the first time we're hearing about this. I can't wait to hear more about these.

They have just reported that the company's Android-based LePad tablet will be hitting the US market sometime in 2011. Of course, if this is the case you can expect it to run on Honeycomb, which is expected to be version 3.0 of Android that will be "optimized for tablets".
