HP Pre 2 Now Available On Verizon For $149.99

Labels: , , , , ,

It's finally here, the HP Pre 2 is now available on Verizon Wireless in the US. The handset is available for $149.99 on a 2-year contract. This handset is pretty outdated since HP just announced the Pre 3 last week. Keep in mind that it's available on HP's own site for $99.99 on a 2-year contract; if you're still interested then check it out on Verizon.

Unsubsidized it'll cost you $449.99 and the phone itself features a 3.1-inch touchscreen display, 16GB of internal storage, WiFi b/g / Bluetooth support, a 1GHz CPU, a 5MP camera with an LED flash, and webOS 2.0.

Internal Screenshot Could Be Pointing Towards a Feb. 17th Verizon Launch Date For the Palm Pre 2

Labels: , , , ,

Thanks to an anonymous tipster from Engadget we have the internal picture you see above. If you take a look at the photo it says that the Palm Pre 2 will be available on all channels starting on February 17th, 2011. That's enough for them to say that it could actually be the launch date for the Pre 2 on Verizon. Of course, there's no confirming this right now but Verizon did run out of webOS phones last week so we should see another model hit the carrier soon. This would be a good warm up to whatever they're going to be unveiling at their next two events.

Verizon's Palm Pre 2 (CDMA) Spotted In Cellebrite's System

Labels: , , , , , ,

A few days ago we heard that Verizon in the US no longer had any webOS Palm phones in stock. Well, today Pre Central got a screen cap of the CelleBrite system which blurrily shows that the Palm Pre 2 could be on the way soon. Yes, this is going to be just a CDMA model so maybe you'll want to wait until HP's webOS event which is taking place in about a week. Oh well. The only way Verizon will actually be able to sell Pre 2's is if they're free on contract. Too little, too late.

Verizon Has No More Palm Phones, Getting the Pre 2 Soon?

Labels: , , , , ,

It looks like Verizon has just run dry on their last CDMA Palm Pixi Plus. It's not up on their website (here) anymore so maybe the next one is on the way. Of course, HP is holding their webOS event soon so we could see the successor to that handset at the event but that's really not what we're interested in. Maybe the Palm Pre 2 will finally hit Verizon, it's a long time coming.

Rogers Releases the Palm Pre 2 For $99.99 On a 3-Year Contract

This is actually a pretty good handset for the price but Rogers does have quite the smartphone line-up already. Check it out on Rogers.

HP and Palm Release the Pre 2 In Europe

Labels: , , ,

As expected, HP and Palm have just released the WebOS 2.0 based Pre 2 smartphone in Germany. If you're really in the mood to get it then be prepared to pay anywhere between £399 ($644 USD) and €499 ($683 USD) because the carriers have actually rejected to carry the smartphone so you'll have to pay the unsubsidized fee. It had potential but this will definitely slow down the sales a whole bunch. Check it out here.

Palm Pre 2 Hitting the UK Unlocked On November 12th

Labels: , , ,

HP was rumoured to be launching the pre-orders for the WebOS 2.0 based Palm Pre 2 on November 8th on their website but that hasn't happened yet. Fortunately, for folks in the UK, HP has just announced that an unlocked model will be available in the UK this Friday, November 12th. This smartphone is a step up from the original Pre with a 1GHz CPU and the upgraded OS, but it was kind of sad that the Pre 2's hardware wasn't upgraded all that much..

HP Says Palm Pre 2 Pre-Orders Start On November 8th

Labels: , , ,

According to HP, the Palm Pre 2 will be available for pre-orders starting on November 8th - just like the title says. The exact quote was "HP for Students - US: Check out the new Palm Pre Plus 2, pre-orders begin 11/8." Right now we don't know if this is the Verizon [CDMA] model or or if it's the unlocked GSM model that a couple of people are waiting for.

HP To Offer the GSM-Capable Palm Pre 2, It Has a Gorilla Glass Display

Labels: , , ,

HP's Palm Pre 2 will be available soon and a few people can't wait to get their hands on the slightly upgraded hardware and WebOS 2.0. The Pre 2 packs a 5MP camera, a 1GHz CPU, and a Gorilla Glass display. What you may want to know is that the GSM-capable (for use on AT&T) Pre 2 will reportedly be available directly from HP if that's what you're waiting around for. If you can put up with the small display then you'll be able to pick one up soon hopefully.

Leaked Verizon Rebate Form Says the DROID 2 Pro / Global, Palm Pre 2, Samsung Continuum, and Others Are Coming Soon

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Thanks to a leaked Verizon rebate form we know that a few new handsets are headed to the biggest US carrier. This includes the DROID 2 Pro and two models of the DROID 2 Global, which means there will be one without a camera for business purposes. The Palm Pre 2 also makes an appearance and comes with a $100 rebate. The Motorola (WX445) Citrus, Samsung Zeal, and the LG Cosmos Touch are on here as well. The latter two are unheard of before this rebate form so look out for those to be leaked / unveiled soon.

Yes, the Samsung (i400) Continuum is also on the form and this one should be unveiled at the company's November 8th event - along with the Nexus device. Last, but not least, there's a new Bold 9650 on the way so maybe this will have OS 6.0 pre-installed or something like that.Look out for them all sometime in November, which seems like it'll be a big month for the carrier.

Proof That Rogers Is Definitely Getting the Palm Pre 2

Labels: , , , ,

This is confirmation that the Palm Pre 2 will be hitting Canada via Rogers sometime in the future. This smartphone will be launching with WebOS 2.0 and a bit of other improved features over its predecessor. Sadly, we still don't when it will be available but let's hope it's before the end of the year for Palm's sake. If not, this one won't sell because we'll be seeing a lot of devices at CES 2011 that you'll definitely be interested in.

Palm Brewing Up 5 to 6 Devices For the New Year?

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Well, well, well. The HP snag may have been exactly what Palm needed. There’s a new rumour swirling around that Palm may actually have 5 to 6 devices on deck and ready to launch in the future. Of course, we know that a smartphone and a tablet (the PalmPad) is on the way, but who knows what else is up the company’s sleeve. Maybe a few more tablets, another smartphone, and possibly a netbook / smartbook. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Palm Pre 2 Hitting "the Rodger's Network" In Canada

Labels: , , , ,

Okay, so I may have been wrong assuming that Bell in Canada would be getting the Palm Pre 2. In the source code on the Canadian section of the Pre 2 on Palm's official site it says that this handset will be "available on the Rodger's network." Of course, that sounds to be like it will be Rogers, just a bit of a typo on someone's part there. Now that it will be on Rogers you can expect the price to be a bit more expensive than it really should be.

Palm Pre 2 Hits the FCC With CDMA and GSM Variants For the US and Canada

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Yesterday, Palm came clean and announced the WebOS 2.0 based Pre 2 and we know that it's headed to France this Friday and to North America in the near future. In the US, it'll be hitting Verizon so it'll have CDMA connectivity. Yes, that has been spotted at the FCC. The other model is the GSM variant which is likely headed to Canada (presumably to Bell, but it's unconfirmed). Yes, that has also been spotted. Check out the two FCC filings here and here. Look out for the launch in the next couple of weeks.

Eight Devices Hitting Verizon On November 11th; Includes Pre 2, DROID Pro, DROID 2 Global, and LG enV Touch Pro

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

We heard earlier today that Verizon would be getting the Samsung Continuum and the LG Vortex on October 29th and it looks like they'll have four more handsets in the pipe two weeks after that. On November 11th, the carrier will be releasing the Palm Pre 2, Motorola DROID Pro, DROID 2 Global, and the Motorola (WX445) Citrus. The Pre 2 is, of course, running on WebOS 2.0 (check out Engadget's review if you want), while the other three handsets will be running on Google's Android OS. Verizon is definitely a carrier to be reckoned with since they have all of these smartphones on the way.

Update: According to Phandroid, November 11th will actually be a very big day for the carrier. In addition to the four phones they'll be launching we now know that the Galaxy Tab will be hitting the carrier on November 11th as well. That's not all though. Apparently, you can also expect the LG enV Touch Pro, the LG Vortex, and the Samsung Continuum on the 11th too. Yes, the Vortex and the Continuum were supposed to actually launch on October 29th but it looks like that has been pushed back. So that's eight devices in one day, can you handle it?

Palm Pre 2 Gets Official With WebOS 2.0; Hitting France This Friday, USA and Canada In a Few Months

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Well, this just about came out of nowhere. Palm has officially announced the Pre 2. This smartphone packs a 3.1-inch HVGA multitouch display, WiFi b/g  / Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR support, 16GB of internal storage, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a slide-up QWERTY keybaord, a 5MP camera with an LED flash, and, yes, WebOS 2.0! Of course, as the rumours suggest you'll likely find a 1GHz CPU inside of this but that's unconfirmed right now. Yes, the Pre 2 looks very similar to the Pre's of the past so nothing should surprise you here. There's Flash 10.1 Beta support on this handset as well so that's definitely good news.

This smartphone will be available in France first, via SFR, on Friday and it'll be available in the US in the coming months through Verizon. Canada will be getting it as well (in the coming months), but the carrier is still unknown right now - Bell launched the original Pre so it could be them again. Check out the Pre 2 portal here.

Palm Pre 2 and Motorola DROID 2 Global Show Up In Verizon's Training Systems

Labels: , , , , ,

An anonymous tipster from Engadget has just mentioned that Verizon could be one of the carriers that decide to launch the Palm Pre 2. Apparently, the image above was taken in Verizon's own internal systems and it shows that the training could be under away in the future. Price, release date, and word on other carriers getting it are still unknown right now.

Update: It looks like another smartphone has shown up in Verizon's Device Training systems and this time it's the Motorola DROID 2 Global. Interesting.

Palm Pre 2 Leaks Out? Looks Exactly Like Its Predecessors.

Labels: , , ,

Coming from MobiFrance is the picture you see above. No, that's not the Pre or the Pre Plus, apparently, the handset you see above is the Palm Pre 2. Obviously, it looks exactly like the older two models but inside you should find a 1GHz CPU along with WebOS 2.0 on the software side. It's kind of sad that HP / Palm decided not to make that screen at least a little bit larger, there's way too much bezel on this thing.
