BlackBerry Atlas Pictured; Appears To Be CDMA Curve 8900 With Optical Trackpad

Labels: , , , ,

What you see here appears to be a CDMA variant of the BlackBerry Curve 8900. This handset looks like it could launch with WiFi and it appears to have the Curve 8900 keyboard and an optical trackpad. RIM is really making a push with these optical trackpads, since they're slowly getting rid of those trackballs. At least there'll be no more problems with their future BlackBerries like there was in the Tour on Verizon.

Well, T-Mobile has just officially mentioned that the CLIQ will be available for $199.99 on a 2-year contract starting on November 2nd. Digital Cube Launches 3-Inch i-Station E9 PMP

Labels: , ,

Digital Cube is back and have just announced their latest PMP, dubbed the i-Station E9. This PMP has a nice look to it and is pretty iPod Touch-like - it even has Apple earphones in the picture. Anyways, the E9 comes with: a 3-inch touchscreen display, an FM tuner, video output (of course), and support for a variety of file formats. The battery life is only projected to last 12 hours of audio and 4 hours of video, so that's pretty upsetting. This PMP is on the cheap side though, costing only $115 for the 4GB model and $132 for the 8GB model. Check it out on their official site here.

Panasonic Unveil Two Ugly Notebooks With Windows 7 Pre-Installed

Labels: , , , , , ,

It looks like Panasonic is planning to launch a couple of notebooks with Windows 7 pre-installed as early as next month (October 22nd). Panasonic has unveiled the N8 and S8 notebooks that will have: a 12.1-inch WXGA display, Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 CPU, up to 4GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD, WiMAX / WiFi support, an HDMI port, and an SDHC card slot. Apparently, these notebooks will last a whopping 16 hours, which I'd love to see. The difference between these two notebooks is that the S8 will have a DVD burner (seen above). Unfortunately, they're both very, very ugly. The Panasonic N8 will launch on October 22nd for 200,000 Yuan ($2,230 USD), and the S8 will likely be a bit cheaper since it has a DVD burner - it's definitely not cheap.

Capcom Announces Super Street Fighter IV, Launching In Spring 2010 With 8 New Characters -- Trailer Here!

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Capcom has just announced that Super Street Fighter IV will be their next game as a part of the Street Fighter franchise. This new game will include a couple of new characters: T. Hawk, Dee Jay, and Juri. There's a grand total of eight new characters expected, so there's still 5 more to be announced. Expect this game to launch in Spring 2010 on the PlayStation 3 and on the Xbox 360. The PC launch details haven't been mentioned yet.

Oh yes, the price will reportedly be cheaper than "full price" so I assume this could mean around $30 to $40. I know there are some really hardcore fans looking forward to this game, so check out both links below. The Joystiq link below has a video, so make sure not to miss that.

Update: It looks like Kotaku got their hands on the first trailer for this game, so check it out below. If it's now working just click on this Kotaku link and it should be available on there.

Philips has just gone out and mentioned two new touchscreen handsets, the X806 (above) and the C702 (below) and they've also announced more specs of their Android-based handset, the V900.

This handset will launch on China Mobile, but the price hasn't been mentioned yet.

Microsoft "Courier" To Run Windows 7 and Focuses on Pen Input

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Microsoft is really looking to make a big turn around with their upcoming software and even hardware front. The Microsoft Courier looks like it will go in direct competition with Apple's iTablet since Microsoft is pegging a mid-2010 launch date for their Booklet / tablet device. Apparently, Microsoft is actually producing the hardware for this device and Courier will actually run Windows 7 when it's complete.

I feel that the main difference between Apple's and Microsoft's tablets is that Apple is focusing on touch input, whereas Microsoft is focusing on pen input. The Courier will be finger-friendly - and will have finger gestures for flipping the page and stuff - but they're focusing on pen input. I see Microsoft targeting business employees with their tablet as it seems more "professional."

New Apple iTablet Rumours: 10.7-Inch Display, iPhone OS, Integrated 3G, January 19 Announcement, May / June Launch

Labels: , , ,

No, this above photo is not a picture of the upcoming Apple tablet. But yes, we do have more rumours about the Apple tablet, let's call it the iTablet.

Apparently, Apple has tested three different screen sizes starting out with a 7-inch display and realized it was too small, so the latest version has a 10.7-inch display. This tablet is supposedly running on the iPhone OS and its physical looks are similar to an iPhone (slim, rounded back, minimal bezel). The resolution could be around 720p capable and it's not meant to compete with netbooks - "It's an iPhone OS media player and light communcation device." There will be two models at launch, one with and one without integrated 3G. The best part is that people are expecting Apple to announce the iTablet "on or before January 19, 2010, and to use an iPhone-like hype buildup period to start selling it in May or June."

Right now they're waiting on Steve Jobs to give it the "final green light" and there's an 80% chance of that happening... If you're interested, because I know you are, check out all of the rumours at iLounge here.

There's no information that can back up this information, but if it comes true you heard it here first.
