Telus is said to be getting a new phone in the next couple of weeks. It's said to be the Garmin Nuvifone and it's said to be packing a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a 3MP AF camera with geotagging, WiFi support, a microSD card slot, and a non-standard 2.5mm headphone. It's looking like this will be the Nuvifone G60 which is the phone that's infamously known for being delayed a whole lot. Telus honestly could've chose a better phone than this one, but I guess they didn't. It's expected in the first week of June.

It looks like overpriced and long-delayed Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60 handset has just been spotted on Amazon. This may not seem like big news, but it definitely is since it's available on Amazon (here) for just $99.99 on AT&T. Go get one now... if you really want to.

We just heard about the price of the Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60 handset, which is set to be $300 on a 2-year contract on AT&T. Now we're hearing that it'll launch on October 4th. It looks like you should be expecting to fork over $299.99 on a 2-year contract after a $100 MIR, and you'll also have to get a $30 data plan for this long-delayed GPS-equipped handset. Talk about overpriced.

AT&T is planning on launching a couple of big phones over the next month or so. This includes the HTC Tilt 2 (Touch Pro 2), the HTC Pure (Touch Diamond 2), and the Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60. According to the latest unconfirmed news, the HTC Tilt 2 will be launching for $299.99 USD on a 2-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate and $499.99 contract-free. The HTC Pure will be launching for $149.99 USD on a 2-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate and $349.99 contract-free. Lastly, the long-delayed Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60 will be launching for $299.99 USD on a 2-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate and $549.99 USD contract-free. All three of these handsets are expected to launch by the end of the next month, but don't be surprised if the G60 gets delayed again... and again.

I think the Tilt 2 and G60 are fairly overpriced, but the HTC Pure seems reasonable. What do you think?

After many delays it looks like AT&T will be releasing Garmin-Asus' Nuvifone G60 and Nuvifone M20 handsets. These rumours actually line-up with what we've been hearing before, so it should be no surprise. The Nuvifone M20 did just hit Taiwan two days ago, so it's not like it's been around forever. As of right now, we don't have an exact release date for either handset, but we're going to go with Q4.

Here's a pre-launch list of phones that are "coming soon" to AT&T. We don't know when they will launch, but they all should be available by the end of the year. The most important four on this list are below, courtesy of Boy Genius.

• BlackBerry 9700 in charcoal

• HTC Tilt 2, HTC Tilt 2 without camera
• HTC Pure (believe it’s the HTC Snap)

The BlackBerry 9700 is supposedly the BlackBerry Onyx; the Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60 is the handset that has long been delayed and no one should care about it at this point. Like it says, the HTC Pure could be the HTC Snap with its unique and special AT&T name; the HTC Tilt 2 is supposedly AT&T's HTC Touch Pro 2, so that's definitely good news. When the release dates are announced, I'll have them all for you.

Last week, Garmin-Asus finally launched the Nuvifone G60... but only in Taiwan. In case you're somehow still interested in their handset, they have announced that it will be available in the US in Q4 of this year. Mobile Crunch actually made an interesting article about this. Since the phone was announced way back in January 2008, this is what has happened since then - 1 year, 6 months, and 6 days later.

Apple announced and released the iPhone 3G. Then they developed, announced, and released the iPhone 3GS.

Samsung has released the T119, Memoir, Trance, T349, T239, A657, A167, Propel Pro, Pixon, Magnet, Jack, Instinct S30, Impression, Exclaim, Alias 2, Solstice, Highlight, Gravity 2, and Comeback.

Competitor TeleNav has released software-based GPS solutions for the iPhone, Android OS, and Sidekick LX.

Impressive isn't it? Well, not so much for Garmin and Asus. Sorry guys, maybe next time.

Although it didn't launch on the supposed July 27th date, at least it finally did hit the Taiwan market. Garmin-Asus has just released their first phone together, the Nuvifone G60. After its long delay, DigiTimes is now reporting that it is available. All we can say is finally!

Garmin-Asus has just announced that they will start selling their Nuvifone G60 in two days, July 27th, in Taiwan. Afterwards, it will hit Singapore and Malaysia next month, alongside the Nuvifone M20. The Nuvifone G60 will also hit the US sometime in the second half of this year; unfortunately, the Nuvifone M20 will not hit the US, but it will hit Europe in the second half of this year as well. The Nuvifone G60 has been delayed many, many times and I'd figure that some people out there have already lost interest.

It's been a while since I mentioned anything about either of these handsets, so I'll briefly go through the specs for you. The Nuvifone G60 has quad-band GSM / tri-band HSDPA support, a 3.55-inch resistive touchscreen display, a 3MP AF camera, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth, and GPS. This handset runs on a customized Linux build and has 4 hours of talk-time.

The Nuvifone M20 is a smaller version of the G60. It has: a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen display, a 3MP AF camera, dual-band HSDPA support, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth, and GPS. Unlike the G60, this handset runs on WinMo 6.1.

The price for both of these handsets is still unknown, but it will be available in just two days.

The Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60 has been delayed for a while now, but apparently it is finally going to get launched next month (August) in Singapore. The Nuvifone M20 is also launching next month, but I wonder who cares at this point. I'm sure some people do, so the launch is scheduled to be "within 30 days." Mark it on your calendars... if you really feel like.

As you may or may not know, Garmin-Asus's Nuvifone G60 smartphone has been delayed time and time again. According to Garmin's COO, Cliff Pemble, they expect to release this smartphone in Asia sometime this month and the US release date is, apparently, "getting very close." Should we trust this guy? We'll just have to see what happens because I'm pretty sure some people have lost interest in this smartphone.

Garmin-Asus' first entry into the smartphone world hasn't been too pleasant so far. Engadget points out that the Nuvifone G60 was announced in January 2008 and was expected to be released in Q3 of that year. Last month, we heard that Garmin-Asus pushed the release date back to June, but now they have just announced further delays. They are now expecting to release this smartphone in Q3 of this year. That comes out to a grand total of 12 months of delay for the Nuvifone G60 aka the GPS with phone capabilities. If the smartphone ever gets released, it will run on a customized Linux OS and will be "heavy on GPS integration." By the way, this probably means that the Nuvifone M20 will also be delayed.

That's the latest rumour on the street. Instead of including GPS into cell phones, this will be a GPS with phone capabilities. Confusing? Not really, once you wrap your head around it. The Nuviphone G60 that was shown off at MWC could be available as soon as this June. The handset's specs are still fairly unknown, but the Nuviphone M20 should be available shortly after the G60 gets released.

I've been using Facebook for about a year and a half now and it is hard to believe that it's already its 5th birthday today. Facebook will allow you to give a free virtual 'Thank You' gift to your friends. Facebook is now half a decade old with over 150 million members worldwide. In the above picture you will see how Facebook has evolved from its launch date's interface, to the current interface.

Google Latitude has just been released. It is an addition that you can have on your iGoogle page or also on your mobile phone. Although, some old mobile phones may not be supported, the vast majority of the mobile phone world are on this list: Windows Mobile, iPhone, Android, S60, Blackberry, etc. Google Latitude will let you share where you are and what you are doing with your friends. It looks pretty neat. I added it on my iGoogle, but i don't really know who i can share my information with, so it's not of much use to me. If you like to stalk your friends then this could be of use to you. This is a product that i believe has lots of potential. On a side note, Google has updated Chrome to version 1.0.154.48, which probably fixes very minor issues, since i haven't heard anything about it yet. I just came across it on Filehippo, since i'm going to download Firefox 3.0.6.

There have been some new leaked Acer smartphone pictures. The phone seems to have a portrait slide out QWERTY keyboard (see left picture). It looks like this phone has some weird swivel technology for this to be possible. Engadget points out that this design does have potential if you are also able to use the slide out QWERTY keyboard in portrait and landscape mode. It will be interesting to see what else this Acer touchscreen smartphone can do, since only the pictures were leaked to the Internet. Look forward to seeing more of this phone at MWC.

Garmin and Asus have formed the Garmin-Asus alliance to form all different kinds of smartphones. This includes the one you see in the picture on the left, dubbed the Asus Nuviphone G60. The G60's OS has not been finalized yet, but it looks like it will be a toss-up between Android, WinMo and Linux[?]. The Garmin-Asus alliance will be putting out several phones during the course of the 2009 year. We should also be expecting more than one model of a Garmin-Asus phone at MWC.
