Altek (A14) Leo Equipped With a 14MP Camera Launching This Month

According to the latest word from Altek, the A14 Leo will actually be available in both Taiwan and China later this month. Other regions that should be getting this handset in Q2 of this year will be Russia and India. This handset packs a 3.2-inch WVGA multitouch display, WiFi b/g/n / GPS support, HSDPA connectivity, an 800MHz CPU, a microSD card slot, Android 2.1, and most importantly a 14MP AF camera with a xenon flash and 3x optical zoom. Quite the cameraphone, indeed! DigiTimes has also mentioned that the company will release another handset before the end of the year and it'll launch with Android 2.2 or 2.3.

Anytime there's word on Verizon's HTC Thunderbolt being released you can chalk it up as a rumour. BGR's sources have mentioned that said smartphone will be launching on March 21st. There's no way to confirm this right now and if you've been waiting this long then you might as well wait another couple of days. Come on Verizon, announce the release date already!

WiFi-Only BlackBerry Playbook Hits the FCC In 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB Models

An upcoming tablet that should be making its way onto the scene soon has just been spotted and tested by the FCC. It's RIM's BlackBerry Playbook and the FCC has confirmed that it'll come in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models - exactly like Apple's iPad and iPad 2. Which carrier is this for? Well, we don't know because this is just the WiFi-only model. Launch should be in Q2 which kicks off next month (April). Check it out at the FCC.

Kyocera Echo Hits the FCC, Hopefully Nearing a Sprint Launch

Sprint's upcoming Kyocera Echo smartphone with dual-displays has just been spotted at the FCC. The filing states that the M9300 - that's the model number - is packing CMA / EVDO Rev. A 3G connectivity along with Bluetooth / WiFi b/g support. The only thing the filing doesn't tell us is a release date and we're going to have to wait for the green light from Sprint.

Nokia C6-01 To Hit Bell For $279.95 Sans Contract

Thanks to the recent leak that Mobile Syrup got their hands on we now know that prices that Bell intends to release the Nokia C6-01 for. They're hearing that the Nokia C6-01 will be launching on March 20th for $279.95 contract-free. Now, of course, a lot of people don't buy their phones contract-free so you're going to have to wait for that 3-year price tag to leak. That should be soon.

T-Mobile's Upcoming GSM BlackBerrys Leak, Set For Q3 Launch

N4BB has just picked up some exclusive information regarding the future of RIM smartphones. The roadmap above states that we could actually see a new BlackBerry in very late Q2 or early Q3. It'll be the BlackBerry (R005) Dakota which is said to be the company's touchscreen Bold. After that you can expect the BlackBerry (R006) Apollo which appears to be a new Curve along with the Torch 2 (R040) which was set for a Q2 / Q3 launch but it looks like it has been delayed. Of course, the Playbook is set for the Q2 launch. Keep in mind that this is a leaked T-Mobile slide so these could also be hitting North of the border at the same time - these would be great for WIND to pick up.
