Cowon J3 PMP To Feature 3.3-Inch AMOLED Display and WiFi

Labels: , ,

We don't have a picture of the Cowon J3 yet, but the picture above is roughly what the back will look like. We now know that the J3 PMP will feature a 3.3-inch WQVGA AMOLED display with a 480 x 272 resolution and WiFi. Unfortunately that's all we know about it so far but it'll likely feature Bluetooth and a couple of GB of storage - hopefully a microSD card slot will be on-board as well.

So far these photos show off what the next Symbian will try to bring to the tablet. To me it doesn't look like it'll pull me from my love for Android but it's still too early to tell.

Labels: ,

Just when you thought the Skiff Reader (above) pushed e-book reading to its limit LG has just announced their own 19-inch flexible digital-ink display. I don't know why you'd need a 19-inch e-book reader, but it could be useful for future e-newspapers. Then again, OLED is going to take over the world by the end of this decade.

Update: We've just got some more information on this display - thanks to Engadget. It's just 0.3mm thin. Nuff said.

Next iPhone To Have Touch-Sensitive Casing; Patent For Capacitive Stylus and Contacts On Homescreen?

Labels: , , ,

The latest rumour states that the next iPhone will have an improved camera, an LED flash, and a Magic Mouse-like touch panel. This rumour states that you'll be able to do new multitouch controls. This technology could actually allow multitouch controls anywhere on the casing on the iPhone, which could be on the front face - where the button is right now - or even on the back. We'll just have to see what happens when they decide to announce it.

The picture above shows Apple's latest patent which could be hinting that they're considering making a stylus compatible model. If this is true, the display will still be capacitive but the stylus will actually feature a conductive tip. This is great news because resistive touchscreens just aren't that finger-friendly. Along with this news another patent states that the next iPhone could also have a customizable GUI that will change based on your location.

Update: According to Mac Rumors, Apple may also be planning to put contacts on your homescreen as well (below). Google's Android actually beat them to this one.

As you can see in the picture above the Nvidia Ion 2 graphics that you'll soon find in various nettops and netbooks could actually be the GeForce G310. The Asus EeeTop PC ET2010PNT sports a 20-inch multitouch display but that's all we know about it so far. The first Ion was the GeForce 9400M so this could be what the next Ion will be.
