Motorola Tao / Sholes To Launch On Verizon As the Motorola Droid? -- And No MOTOBLUR With Flash Support

Labels: , , , , , ,

We've heard quite a bit about the Motorola Tao / Sholes this morning, even a suspected December 1st release date on Verizon. Well, now we're hearing that this Android-based handset will actually be launched as the Motorola Droid and it will not feature their MOTOBLUR - like the CLIQ / DEXT has. Apparently, a non-keyboard model of this handset is expected to launch in 2010.

Update on October 2nd: According to Unwired View, the Motorola Droid will have Flash support! Thank you.

Update on October 4th: I was reflecting on some of my older posts this morning and realized that when they say "a non-keyboard model of this handset is expected to launch in 2010" they could be talking about the Motorola Flash - picture below.

ODROID Shown Off On Video Running An SNES Emulator

Labels: , , , , ,

The Android gaming device, ODROID, looks like it has been outed again on video. In this video ODROID is getting shown off running an SNES emulator which is actually illegal - unless he has the games of the ROMs he's playing. It's all good though because ODROID actually does a great job with it. Personally, old school games bore me.

Sony Releases PSP Go For $250 With 13 Downloadable "Mini" Games

Leaked LG Handsets For Early 2010; The Roadmap

Labels: , , , , , , ,

We don't know much about any of these handsets, but it looks like LG is set to release everything you see above in early 2010: the LG Goya, Wine2, Stage, Mini, Sweet, Cookie2, and the Wine Junior. The other handset that's expecting to get launched is the LG GX200 that features dual-SIM card slots, but that's not shown on this roadmap. I'm not going to jump into speculations about all of these handsets, so just take a look at all of their pictures above.

Verizon Launching Redesigned Samsung Omnia II With WinMo 6.1 In Mid-October

Labels: , , , ,

Even though we know the first week of October will be a launch-fest for Verizon, the latest unconfirmed news states that they will also be releasing the Samsung Omnia II in the middle of this month. We do know that the Omnia II launching on Verizon could be a slight redesign, but that's all we know right now. Apparently, the Omnia II will launch pre-installed with WinMo 6.1, which doesn't really make sense. We still don't know how much Verizon is planning to launch this for.

Update: Of course there'll be a WinMo 6.5 update - it'll just come later...

Verizon Launching Motorola Tao / Sholes On December 1st; Shocking News!!

Labels: , , , , ,

I don't have much to say here, because the picture below says it all - but I will anyway. The Motorola XXX - presumably the Tao / Sholes looks like it will be released on December 1st on Verizon with Android 2.0. As you already should know, the Tao / Sholes has: a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard (supposedly the thinnest of its kind at 13.7mm), copy and paste functionality, a 5MP AF camera with a dual-LED flash, 3G / WiFi connectivity, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. Apparently, the Sholes / Tao will be at least twice as fast as the competition which could be a slight exaggeration.

If you're not excited you should definitely be because this is really shaping to be a phone worthy of being on my top 10 phone list. If only we could get confirmation about all of these juicy specs. Check out everything you need to know below - except for the price tag.

Quick Impressions About Google Wave -- Really Confused

Labels: ,

I finally got my invite at around 10:42 p.m. last night. After using Google Wave for about 10 minutes, I'm pretty confused. I know my experiences may be different, but Google Wave actually takes some getting used to and you're going to have to get used to the UI. I'm going to be tinkering around with it as much as I can for the next couple of days because I love Google that much. So far though, I have no clue what I am doing on Wave. Hopefully my experiences just get better from here.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 Spotted in AT&T's Inventory System Again, Launching For $399 Off-Contract?

Labels: , , ,

What you see above is a shot of Best Buy's AT&T inventory system. It tells us that the Curve 8520 was supposed to have a stock date of September 8th but, clearly, that didn't happen. It also appears to be priced at $399.99 USD contract-free, so that could hint at the possible price it could launch as. As expected the Curve 8520 is set to be the next BlackBerry to launch followed by the Bold 9700 (Bold 2) and the Storm 2 - not in specific order.
