LG VS750 To Be a Variant Of the GM750? Hitting Verizon In Early 2010
Last week we heard that Verizon would be launching the Windows Mobile 6.5 based LG VS750. Well, now we know that it'll be available in early 2010 and it could be a variant of the LG GM750, which seems plausible. In case you're interested the GM750 has: a 3-inch touchscreen display with a 240 x 400 resolution, a 5MP camera, an optical trackpad, WiFi / Bluetooth 2.1 support, and a 1,000 mAh battery. It isn't exactly a high-end handset with its small 3-inch display, but it's a pretty good handset - on paper at least.

Vodafone and LG have just announced that the LG GM750 will be hitting Vodafone exclusively starting on October 6th - the same day that WinMo 6.5 / Windows Phone will be released. This WinMo 6.5 / Windows Phone handset has: a 3-inch touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, a 5MP camera, and WiFi / 3G support. Unfortunately, the price hasn't been mentioned yet. The LG GW550 will also be released soon with WinMo 6.5, it'll probably launch on October 6th as well.
LG also stated that they will be launching 13 more handsets by the end of the year. Three of these handsets will be running WinMo 6.5 and the other 10 will be announced later this year. We'll just have to wait until later to see exactly what LG has up their sleeves.

Just 5 days ago, the LG GM750 "Layla" passed the WiFi Alliance and now we have more news about it. The LG GM750 "Layla" has just been revealed as a Windows Phone / WinMo 6.5 handset. It has: a 5MP AF camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, WiFi, GPS, and LG's S-Class UI. The display is where there is some disagreement, some sites are saying a 400 x 240 resolution and others are saying an 800 x 480 resolution, so we can't confirm which one it will be. We'll just have to see when more news surfaces about this handset. It's expected to be released in Q3 of this year.

WiFi Alliance
Last week, I informed you that the LG GM730 would be getting a successor, the LG GM750. Well, it has popped up again today - thanks to the good ol' WiFi Alliance - this time with its codename "Layla". As of right now, nothing is known about the LG Layla, but since it's the direct successor to the LG GM730 it's a good guess that this will be running Windows Mobile.
