Seven New HTC Android Phones' UA Profile Spotted!

Labels: , , , , ,

Cell Passion has been snooping around and they've been doing a great job. They have just found a total of 7 new HTC Android phones that may or may not be launching this year. They're all listed below. We've seen a couple of them below but the majority of them are fairly new to me. The Supersonic is one of the known handsets and seems to be the highest-end of the whole crew. We'll likely see these at MWC 2010.

HTC Espresso: QWERTY keyboard, 320x480 pixel display

HTC Huangshan: No physical keyboard, 320x480 pixel display

HTC Liberty: No physical keyboard, 320x480 pixel display

HTC Halo: QWERTY keyboard version of the Tattoo

HTC Paradise: QWERTY keyboard, 240x400 pixel display

HTC Legend: No physical keyboard, 320x480 pixel display

HTC Supersonic: No physical keyboard, 480x800 pixel display

Samsung Files For Vita OS Trademark, What Is It?

Labels: ,

A day after Samsung filed for the Bada OS trademark they also filed for the Vita OS trademark. We don't know what this means right now seeing how Samsung has already made it widely known that Bada will be the name of their mobile OS. Maybe this is some Linux build they're working on for their netbooks - maybe and probably not. We don't know what this means, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they put this to use at all.

Could the January 27th Apple Event Be When the Verizon iPhone Finally Gets Announced?

Labels: , ,

Could it be true? Could Apple's event on January 27th be the announcement of the Verizon iPhone? It's still a rumour right now, and the event is less than a week away which is where the rumours pile up every single day. This would be great news for those who don't want to be on AT&T's shoddy network. I assume that if Verizon announces that they're getting the iPhone, this would be the 4th-generation model and not the current 3G / 3GS models. But, you never know what's going to happen - it may not even happen at all, although it should.

HP Smartbook "AirLife 100" Spotted at the FCC

Labels: , ,

An HP smartbook has just been spotted at the FCC. We don't know if it's a tablet of a netbook-like device yet because there are no solid photos on what it looks like yet. HP could be looking to launch this device as the Compaq AirLife 100 when they release it. All we know about this smartbook so far is that it will have Bluetooth / WiFi b/g support and 3G connectivity.

Leaked Nokia C3 and C5 Handsets; No Pictures and Barely Any Details

Labels: ,

Way back in July, we heard that Nokia would be launching a new Series of phones, a C Series. Today, Fone Arena has noticed two leaked handsets the Nokia C3 and C5. We don't know the full spec sheet of either handset, but we do know that they'll both have quad-band GSM connectivity and Bluetooth support, which is pretty standard these days. The C3 will also have WiFi and the C5 has UMTS + HSDPA / HSUPA connectivity.

Maybe Nokia will be announcing these handsets around the time where MWC starts - since they won't be attending - to crush the whole party if they can.

Upcoming Fido Launches Priced and Detailed; Motorola Renew Plus, Sony Ericsson Naite, Curve 8520, Samsung Gravity

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

The latest rumours actually give us what phones Fido could be releasing the next couple of weeks. They also, thankfully, give us rumoured dates and prices as well. On February 9th, the Motorola Renew Plus (for $15 on a 2-year contract / $65 pre-paid plan), Sony Ericsson Naite (for $30 on a 2-year contract / $150 pre-paid plan), and BlackBerry Curve 8520 (for $60 on a 3-year contract / $400 pre-paid plan) could be launching. Later next month, on February 23rd, Fido will be launching the Samsung Gravity for $65 on a 2-year contract / $150 on a pre-paid plan. All of the prices are Canadian of course.

The Sony Ericsson Naite appears to be a typical candybar handset and the other 3 handsets are not exactly new so you should've seen them by now.

Asus Launching 12-Inch Eee PC With Nvidia Ion 2 Graphics In April?

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Digitimes is back at it again. This time they're mentioning that Asus will be launching an Eee PC in April with Nvidia's Ion 2 graphics. This would be pretty amazing considering that the Intel Atom N470 CPUs should be well on their way by then. I'm hoping that it will be the successor to their Eee PC 1201N netbook since it's said to feature a 12-inch display.

They also mentioned that the Eee PC T101 netbook tablet will be launching in late February and so will those 12-inch Eee PCs running on AMD's Congo platform.

Update: According to Engadget, the 12-inch Eee PCs running on AMD's Congo platform will be the 1201T. This netbook is running the 1.6GHz MV40 CPU and also features 2GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD, ATI HD3200 graphics, and Windows 7. It's actually been spotted on Amazon Germany here and it's retailing for €399 ($560 USD).

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Hitting Japan's NTT DoCoMo In April; China In Spring Too

Labels: , , , , , , ,

The XPERIA X10 is gracing Canada's Rogers in Q2 of this year, it's likely headed to T-Mobile UK this year and it looks like Japan is getting some love as well. NTT DoCoMo is looking to launch the XPERIA X10 as the docomo Smartphone Xperia (SO-01B) and it'll be available starting in April. The price hasn't been mentioned yet but it'll be available in both black and white.

The X10 features a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display with an 854 x 480 resolution, HSDPA / WiFi / GPS support, the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, Timescape and Mediascape, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an 8MP AF camera, 1GB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot. It's said to be running Android 1.6 but everyone is begging for SE to update it to at least version 2.0.

You don't live in Japan? Well, China will also be getting this smartphone in Spring.

Viewsonic Unveils 5-Inch 1080p-Capable MovieBook VPD550T PMP

Labels: ,

Viewsonic wasn't finished with the tablet from this morning. They have also unveiled the MovieBook VPD550T. Why you would want to enjoy a movie on a small display is none of my concern, but it'd be great for movies-on-the-go. Anyways, this PMP will be launching in April for $200 USD and will deliver a Full HD 1080p resolution over its HDMI output. The MovieBook itself features a 5-inch LCD touchscreen display, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD card. It supports a bunch of audio and video codecs and the battery life should last for 20 hours of audio and 4 hours of video.

Digitimes Claims That HP Is Working On Notebooks and Tablets With Integrated Pico-Projectors

Labels: , , , ,

Thanks to Digitimes there's a new rumour going around. HP is said to be working on some new notebooks and tablets that will ship this year, but that's not it. The interesting part about all this is that these notebooks and tablets may actually have integrated pico-projectors on them. It actually seems like a weird idea seeing how it will be placed on the opposite side of the webcam. This could add a bit of weight and bulkiness to your notebook but some people will still go out and buy them - if the rumour's true that is.

Europe PSN Getting Final Fantasy VIII On February 4th

Labels: , , , , , , ,

There's not much to tell you that the title of this story doesn't tell you. Final Fantasy VIII will be hitting (EU) PSN on February 4th. The price hasn't been mentioned yet. I didn't like FF VIII that much, but it's a bit better than FF IX - which I think was terrible. So, yeah, mark it on your calendars. February 4.

Motorola Calgary / DROID Devour Spotted In Verizon's Systems, Launch Imminent?

Labels: , , , , ,

Verizon looks like they're just about ready to launch the Motorola Calgary / DROID Devour. We don't know how much this cheap-looking phone will go for but I doubt it'll beat the DROID's sales. It looks like it could be available in black and silver at launch and it doesn't seem like it'll be as high-end as the DROID is, so it should be available for somewhere between $99 and $149 - my best guess.

T-Mobile UK Prepping To Launch HTC Bravo, XPERIA X10, SE Vivaz, Samsung Spica and Storm 2

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

T-Mobile UK looks like they're set to launch a couple of amazing phones, including the likes of the HTC Bravo (above on the left), the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 (above on the right), the Sony Ericsson Vivaz (formerly known as the Kurara - bottom left), the Samsung Galaxy Spica (below on the right), and the BB Storm 2. They're all running Android except for the Vivaz and, of course, the Storm 2 which will be running S60 and BB OS 5.0, respectively, so you can see all the hype here. They're all amazing phones so it could be pretty tough to pick any one of these phones. Of course my favourite is the XPERIA X10.

If you're an Alltel customer you can now scoop up the BlackBerry Curve 8530 if you want. It's not a 3G handset, but it's still got some goodies like WiFi and an optical trackpad. You can get it now for $49.99 on a 1-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate, which isn't bad at all.

Viewsonic Unveils Android-Based VTablet 101

Labels: , ,

Viewsonic has unveiled their latest product and, of course, it's a new tablet PC. Dubbed the VTablet 101, it has some decent specs on-board. It's got an 8.9-inch touchscreen display with a 1,024 x 800 resolution, Nvidia Tegra 2 (T20) graphics, an ARM Cortex A9 1GHz CPU, a webcam, Bluetooth / WiFi / 3G support, and 4GB of internal flash storage. It's clearly running Android which still lacks Flash support but who needs it with HTML5 on the way. This tablet will be priced at around $440 whenever they release it.

I wonder how this will size up against Apple's tablet... maybe you should wait for that one.

Garmin-Asus Showing Off Android and WinMo Phones At MWC, Plans To Sell 1 Million This Year

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Garmin-Asus is infamously known for their very, very delayed Nuvifone G60 handset. They're looking to put that all behind them though since they are planning to unveil some of their upcoming smartphones at MWC this year. At MWC they'll be showing off the M10 which is essentially a Windows Mobile 6.5.3 handset that will feature a 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen display and a 5MP camera. This handset will retail for around $400.

Along with that though they're looking to launch a couple of Android handsets as well. We don't know what this handset will feature but Garmin-Asus is hoping to sell 1 million handsets this year, which might be a bit of a stretch for them. We'll see what happens.
