Well, well, well. The Samsung (I8520) Galaxy Beam is now available in Singapore (site here) but sadly something inside has been underclocked. Of course, I'm talking about the TI OMAP3440 CPU which is just 720MHz. That CPU is normally clocked to 800MHz so it's just a little bit underclocked but still. You never know when that extra 80MHz will come in handy. They likely dropped the CPU speed for battery life seeing how that integrated pico-projector could kill your battery pretty quickly.

The awesome Samsung Galaxy Beam smartphone has just been announced to hit Singapore in the future. For the spec sheet you can just let your mind soar, then you'll probably be correct. It has a beautiful spec sheet (below), but a thick body thanks to the integrated pico-projector. StarHub will be selling the handset starting on July 17th (it'll be in stores starting on the 10th) and it'll be available for free on select contracts.

At Computex, this pretty interesting tablet from DigiLife was spotted. It's being called the iOne and it's a 10-inch tablet with a capacitive touchscreen display and the Android OS. The most interesting part about this tablet is that it features an integrated VGA pico-projector. It's just a prototype right now and inside you'll find a Samsung Cortex A8 CPU. There are actually two microSD card slots on this tablet which is another great thing. The price isn't mentioned yet but this model right here could cost around $300 - the release date hasn't been mentioned yet. There's a video below so you'll have to scroll down past the picture.

Samsung has unveiled a couple more products. First up is their new SyncMaster PX2370 LCD monitor, which is what you see above. This monitor has a 23-inch LED-backlit display and it, of course, has a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution. It also has a 2ms response time, the Touch of Color design, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio (5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio), an Ambient Light sensor, and VGA / DVI / HDMI inputs. Another product that they officially announced is what they're claiming to be the "world's brightest pico projector." It's the Samsung H03 and it has 30 ANSI lumens along with an SD card slot. This is set to launch in June and it'll weigh less than a smartphone.

They've also briefly announced the SP-F10M LED-based projector which has 1,000 ANSI lumens. Other specs are said to be an XGA (1,024 x 768) resoltuion, an HDMI input, a 40 to 300 inch image size, and 30,000 hours of lamp life. The other display they briefly mentioned is the SyncMaster MD230, which has a 23-inch display with a 1,920 x 1,080 (Full HD) resolution, an 8ms response time, 300 nits of brightness, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio (150,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio), and DVI-D / Display Port / D-Sub inputs.

It looks like Samsung is about to make another handset official and this one's the i8520 "Halo" Android phone that should be making its debut (officially) tomorrow. It's a phone with a built-in pico projector and a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED WVGA touchscreen display. Why couldn't they put this display on their Wave handset is what I'm wondering. Other specs are still quite amazing making this a true "superphone" if you want to. Expect an 8MP AF camera on-board with 720p video recording capbilities, quad-band GSM/EDGE / tri-band UMTS 900 / 1900 / 2100 connectivity, DivX / XviD video playback, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi / DLNA support, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android 2.1. This handset will be launched in Europe and Asia in Q3 of this year with a US launch later on (hopefully later in Q3).

The bad part about the built-in projector is that it makes the phone a fat 14.9mm thick. It looks like it'll also be rocking the new TouchWiz 3.0 UI - over top of Android 2.1. Expect Samsung to make it 100% official tomorrow.

Update: It looks like this handset will actually be called the Samsung Beam.

After just over a week of shipping delays, AT&T now has the LG eXpo available on their website. Codenamed the LG Monaco way back when, this handset is now available for $199.99 USD on a 2-year contract. This handset is running Windows Mobile 6.5, has a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Don't forget that this will also have a detachable and optional pico-projector attachment but it'll cost you $179.99, so it's nothing cheap. Get one on AT&T's website now.

The LG "Monaco" will be launching as the LG eXpo in the USA on AT&T and will be available in Canada on Telus as the LG IQ. This Snapdragon-powered handset has a detachable pico-projector that will reportedly only be available to business customers, which definitely sucks. Telus will be getting the LG Monaco as the LG IQ in the next couple of weeks, but now we know that the US will be getting it as well. AT&T will be launching this handset as the LG eXpo and it'll be available starting on December 7th. In case you forgot, this handset features: a Snapdragon CPU, a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a removable pico-projector, a fingerprint reader, and WinMo 6.5.

According to this picture from AT&T, the LG Monaco running Windows Mobile 7 will be available this September! Don't get too excited though, because this slide looks to be outdated, seeing how WinMo 6.5 hasn't even rolled out yet - and Microsoft has already mentioned that WinMo 7 will be available next year. Nonetheless, this handset does look great. It has: a 3.2-inch WVGA (480 x 800) touchscreen display, WiFi, a 5MP camera with autofocus, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR / A2DP, USB 2.0 connectivity, aGPS, a microSD card slot (support for up to 16GB), and a Pico-projector to top things off. I don't know where the projector will be located, but it looks like a pretty thin and sleek design.

I just think that this handset is too simple for my liking. I want to get something that is so sexy, something that makes people jealous. Getting back on topic, if this LG Monaco does hit AT&T this September, don't expect it to run WinMo 7.
