AT&T Delays the LG eXpo Because of Shipping Delays

Labels: , , , ,

AT&T was supposed to launch the LG eXpo two days ago (December 7th), but they didn't. It's been slightly delayed and will be launched in a couple of days thanks to shipping delays. This handset is also expected to hit Canada's Telus as the LG IQ, but we don't know when that will be. This pico-projector packed handset will be running WinMo 6.5 and should be available in a couple of days, so just wait!

The LG "Monaco" will be launching as the LG eXpo in the USA on AT&T and will be available in Canada on Telus as the LG IQ. This Snapdragon-powered handset has a detachable pico-projector that will reportedly only be available to business customers, which definitely sucks. If you're interested in watch a video on exactly what the projector can do then click play on the video above.

First Look at Canada's Telus LG IQ Handset, Packing WinMo 6.5 and Snapdragon

Labels: , , , ,

Alright, so by now we know that Telus will be getting the LG IQ, which was once codenamed the LG Monaco - and was supposed to run WinMo 7 way back when. So yeah, you want to know more don't you? Well, there's really nothing more I can tell you.

What you see above is our first look at the handset live in the flesh and it's running WinMo 6.5 with Snapdragon internals - the 1GHz one. The display is a 3.2-inch touchscreen, there's a 5MP shooter on the back, and it has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Pricing and release details still haven't been mentioned.

AT&T Launching LG Monaco and HP Obsidian With WinMo 6.5 in November

Labels: , , , , , ,

According to what you see above, AT&T will be launching the LG Monaco and the HP Obsidian in November of this year. Both handsets will launch with Windows Mobile 6.5 on-board. In case you forgot, the Monaco has: a 5MP AF camera, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, WiFi 802.11 b/g, GPS support, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA connectivity.

The HP Obsidian looks like it will have: a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS / WiFi 802.11 b/g / Bluetooth 2.0 support, GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, a QWERTY keypad, and a microSD card slot.

On a side note, the AT&T Tilt 2 will be released next month (October), but we already knew that. The Samsung Epix and Samsung Jack will also be upgradeable to WinMo 6.5 as well.

Sprint Launching Touch Pro 2 on September 8th; US Cellular Lanching it With WinMo 6.5

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

We still don't have a confirmed date on Sprint's HTC Touch Pro 2, but we're now hearing it'll be either September 8th or the 13th. Unfortunately, Sprint and Verizon's HTC Touch Pro 2 will be launching with Windows Mobile 6.1, so we'll see it before October 1st - since that's the date WinMo 6.5 should be out. If you want WinMo 6.5 pre-installed on your Touch Pro 2 then you should probably get yours on US Cellular. They plan to launch the TP2 with WinMo 6.5 pre-installed, which means we'll see it after October 1st.

In the leaked roadmap above, you'll also see the AT&T Touch Pro 2, the LG Monaco (running WinMo 6.5 not WinMo 7), the HTC Warhawk which is the Touch Diamond 2, and Verizon's Samsung Omnia II.

AT&T Getting the LG Monaco Running Windows Mobile 7 This Year!!

Labels: , , , , ,

According to this picture from AT&T, the LG Monaco running Windows Mobile 7 will be available this September! Don't get too excited though, because this slide looks to be outdated, seeing how WinMo 6.5 hasn't even rolled out yet - and Microsoft has already mentioned that WinMo 7 will be available next year. Nonetheless, this handset does look great. It has: a 3.2-inch WVGA (480 x 800) touchscreen display, WiFi, a 5MP camera with autofocus, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR / A2DP, USB 2.0 connectivity, aGPS, a microSD card slot (support for up to 16GB), and a Pico-projector to top things off. I don't know where the projector will be located, but it looks like a pretty thin and sleek design.

I just think that this handset is too simple for my liking. I want to get something that is so sexy, something that makes people jealous. Getting back on topic, if this LG Monaco does hit AT&T this September, don't expect it to run WinMo 7.
