Fusion Garage Joojoo Tablet Now In Production, Bringing Flash Support

Labels: , , ,

Finally! It looks like the Crunchpad, erm, the Joojoo tablet is set to launch since it's now in full production. Unlike the iPad, this tablet will have full Flash support. Time to watch Avatar on a 16:9 display with 720p resolution. It's not HD, but it's better than 4:3 - for watching movies at least.

Finally! This is the first pic of the Motorola Zeppelin actually turned on to confirm that it's running Android with a hint of their own MOTOBLUR. Nokia C5 Leaks In Pictures, Possible Nokia C3 Candidate As Well

Labels: , , ,

Aww, shucks. I had high hopes for Nokia since they're set to launch their new C Series of handsets. Sadly, the first one was leaked out earlier today, known as the Nokia C5. Unfortunately, it's a candybar dumbphone which has mid-end / entry-level written all over it. The specs include a 2.2-inch QVGA display, HSDPA / HSUPA connectivity, a 3.2MP camera, 50MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, aGPS support, an FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Symbian S60 FP2.

Update: According to Fone Arena, the handset you see below could be the Nokia C3. It's supposedly got a QWERTY keypad (like the E71 / E72) and it's also packing a grotesque 5MP camera on the back.

RIM Launching BlackBerry Bold With Touchscreen (Magnum / Dakota) and 3G BlackBerry Pearl (9100 Striker) Later This Year

Labels: , , , ,

RIM looks like they're looking to launch at least two new BlackBerry smartphones this year. Judging from their descriptions, one will be the touchscreen BlackBerry Bold aka the Magnum / Dakota and the other one will be a 3G BlackBerry Pearl with an optical trackpad which is the 9100 "Striker". This is just a rumour at the time, so take it with a grain of salt. Of course with the touchscreen Bold will be a new and updated BB OS (possibly 5.2 or 6.0?).

Motorola Milestone Possibly Launching On Telus On February 18th -- Not In Manitoba Or Saskatchewan

Labels: , , , , , ,

Yesterday it was rumoured that Telus would be launching the Motorola Milestone on February 15th and now an internal memo has stated that they'll actually be launching it three days later - on February 18th. In two days, Telus will reportedly "start taking deposits" for the phone, kind of like a pre-order. The rumoured price is $199.99 on a 3-year contract and $549 contract-free.

Update: According to Mobile Syrup there's some bad news regarding the upcoming Motorola Milestone on Telus. Since their HSPA network isn't available everywhere yet, Manitoba and Saskatchewan will not be getting their shot at the Milestone. Incredibly bad news for those folks.

Verizon Releasing the Motorola Devour (Calgary) Sometime Next Month

Labels: , , , , ,

It looks like Verizon has just made the Calgary official as the Motorola Devour. This Android handset features a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a small touchpad, a microSD card slot, a pre-installed 8GB card, Bluetooth support, and MOTOBLUR. It doesn't look like there's multitouch on this handset but hopefully Google implements it over an update - it's only fair. Verizon mentioned that they're going to be releasing this handset sometime next month, but the price wasn't mentioned.

Asus N61 and N82 Notebooks To Have USB 3.0 Ports and Core i5 / i7 Options

Labels: , , , ,

It looks like Asus has just introduced their first notebooks with the upcoming USB 3.0 standard. Asus will be updating their current 16-inch N61 notebook to accompany a USB 3.0 port and they'll be launching a new 14-inch N82 notebook with the same port as well. There'll only be one of each right now, which should be more than enough. Of course, both notebooks will have their share of Intel Core i5 / i7 CPU options, ATI / Nvidia graphics, and a couple of [current] standard USB 2.0 ports.

USB 3.0 (right now) only runs three times faster than USB 2.0 but it's better than no improvement at all. USB 3.0 will be faster as time goes by so don't worry.

HP Elitebooks 8440 and 8540 Get Core i7 Upgrade, USB 3.0 If You Want

Labels: , , ,

HP isn't done yet. They've just revealed some more notebook for the business customers, the Elitebook 8440 and 8540. They have 14-inch and 15.6-inch displays (both 1,600 x 900 resolution), respectively, and they're both LED-backlit anti-glare which is great. Both of these notebooks are highly customizable in the specifications department, but the model under $1,000 will feature an Intel Core i5-520M and 2GB of DDR3 RAM. If you're willing to spend as much as possible you can go for the Intel Core i7-820QM CPU, 16GB of RAM, Nvidia's Quadro graphics, and a 256GB SSD. The Elitebook 8540 actually has three USB 2.0 ports and even two USB 3.0 ports.

ai.rs actually mentions that this "upgrade" actually sports a lower resolution than the last batch of EliteBooks, which is actually a let down. The good news here is that it is a 16:9 display this time around though.
