So, we know about the Motorola Zeppelin already and it should be running Android. It looks like China Telecom will be getting this handset as the Motorola XT800. Fortunately, it'll be capable of running on their upcoming new 3G network since this handset features GSM and CDMA connectivity.

Engadget also mentions that the US could be getting this handset sometime in 2010 on either Sprint or Verizon's network, of course.

WIND Mobile Launching On December 16th! Setting Up Booths Within Blockbuster Stores

Labels: , ,

That was quick! The latest rumour states that WIND Mobile is scheduled to launch this Wednesday, December 16th! That's in just 2 days! We're still waiting for the official word, but if this is true then it's great news! I'm anticipating this launch.

According to Mobile Magazine and Boy Genius, now that WIND Mobile has been cleared to enter the carrier game in Canada, they are setting up their locations now. Besides having their own stores they have plans to take over a couple of Blockbusters as well. As you can see in the photo above, they already have their little booth up in this particular Blockbuster. Fortunately for me, they're building a standalone store in Bramalea City Center which is about 3 minutes from where I live.

Some Leaked Samsung Bada Mobile OS Photos

Labels: ,

Samsung has already officially announced their new Bada mobile OS and it's looking pretty exciting. I'll likely still favour Android over Bada, but the mobile OS war is going to continue. Let's just hope there's enough room for Bada.

It's actually looking pretty good at the moment to be honest. It's got a hint of Android and TouchWiz in there, GSM Arena Blog also points out that there is some Symbian flavour in there.

HTC Legend Pictured Again With Its Mighty Chinny Chin, Chin

Labels: , , , ,

Just as I thought. The HTC Legend is looking like it will be the successor to the HTC Hero. We already know that this handset will feature: a 3.2-inch HVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, a Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHz CPU, quad-band GSM/EDGE / dual-band WCDMA/HSPA connectivity, a 5MP camera with an LED flash, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR / aGPS / WiFi b/g support, a digital compass, a microSD card slot, a 1,300 mAh battery, and Android 2.x. This handset is expected to be unveiled at MWC 2010, which is in February 2010. It's looking quite good in the pictures, however, the chin is still present which is turn-off.

Sony Ericsson Debuts Hazel, Elm and New Bluetooth (VH700) Headset

Labels: , , , ,

Sony Ericsson has just announced two more handsets as a part of their Greenheart line-up and they've also shown us the VH700 Bluetooth headset. The Hazel (above) and the Elm (below) both feature 5MP AF cameras with an LED flash and geo-tagging support. The Hazel is slider (clearly) that has a 2.6-inch display and the Elm is a candybar handset that has a smaller 2.2-inch display. They both have a 320 x 240 resolution though. "The devices support GSM and EDGE for the 850/900/1,800/1,900MHz bands but is limited to 900/2,100MHz bands for its HSPA-based 3G." The Hazel will be available in Spring 2010 and the Elm will be available in Q1 2010.

The VH700 Bluetooth headset below is pretty sweet too. It has two microphones so that you can cancel out the background noise when you're talking. This headset is Bluetooth 2.1 capable and can actually connect to two different handsets at the same time. This will be available in the Spring time.

Samsung Conjuring Tablets, Multitouch, and 3D Goodness; Also Planning To Make LED-Backlighting Standard

Labels: , , ,

Samsung has just mentioned a couple of things that they could be looking to implement / create in the future. So, they have mentioned that they plan to launch a tablet, but we have no details about it yet. They also went on to mention some sort of multitouch and 3D, maybe they'll implement them both into this tablet device? We don't know yet, so don't speculate. Samsung is also planning to make LED-backlighting standard on all of their displays starting in the middle of 2010 until the day they die... or until a new technology comes along.

Vodafone No Longer Selling the HTC HD2, Making Way For the iPhone?

Labels: , , ,

It looks like that rumour from last week was true and Vodafone wasn't kidding around. Vodafone is no longer selling the HTC HD2 now that their initial stock has run out. A lot of sources are saying that this is to "make way" for the iPhone which is scheduled to launch pretty soon, but apparently there are also software issues that have to be fixed. Let's hope it's the latter because that would be pretty lame. So yeah, Vodafone no longer has the HD2 available on their site.

Google Nexus One Passes FCC With T-Mobile 3G Bands, Not AT&T's

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Bam! It's been only 4 days and this news is to keep the Google Nexus one streak alive. This time it has been spotted at the FCC with T-Mobile 3G capable bands. This would make perfect sense seeing how Google decided to launch their first Android phone (made by HTC), the T-Mobile G1 / HTC Dream, on their network as well. The FCC testing has also revealed that it will solely be capable of running on T-Mobile's 3G network. "Sorry AT&T, but that's how the cookie crumbles." Check out the FCC filing here, here, and here.

Engadget Scoops Up Exclusive New Google Nexus One Photos

Labels: , , , , ,

Engadget has just managed to scoop up exclusive photos of the HTC Passion / Dragon / the Google Nexus One handset. Yes, it's running Android 2.1, but their doesn't seem to be much of a difference from Android 2.0.1. This handset here was running on T-Mobile - not AT&T - and was sporting Google Navigation and Google Goggles. The photo above is looking pretty hot, to be honest. In my opinion it looks better than the iPhone, but not by much. Just curious, is that really a trackball down there...?

MSI X-Slim X600 Pro Notebook Gets a Little Spec Bump and Looks Prettier

Labels: , , , , , ,

Well, this may look like a bit like an MSI X-Slim X600 and that's because it is. Except the model you see above is actually a Pro model. According to Engadget, the Pro model will feature "a new scratch-resistant surface and silver inlays." It should feature an Intel ULV CPU and the same ol' ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics inside. Look out for it to make its debut at CES 2010.
