Best Buy and Amazon Now Taking Pre-Orders On Samsung and Acer's Chromebooks

If you're patiently waiting for a notebook with Google Chrome OS on board then the wait is almost over. Google has informed everyone that you can now pre-order Chromebooks through Amazon and Best Buy right now! Yes, that's the Samsung Series 5 and the Acer Cromia which starts at $430 and $380, respectively. Check them out on Amazon and Best Buy.

Samsung Canada Says the Galaxy S II Is Coming Soon

Samsung Canada has just told us something that we've all wanted to hear. The Galaxy S II is coming soon. According to past rumours, the smartphone would be available in early Q3, which starts in July. All carriers should be getting this one whenever it launches so it's definitely worth waiting for. Sony Ericsson Announces the Mix Walkman and txt pro Phones

On Facebook, Sony Ericsson announced two new phones, the Mix Walkman and the txt pro. First up, the Mix Walkman (above) features a 3-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, an FM radio, and a microSD card slot. The txt pro, on the other hand, look a whole lot like an XPERIA Mini Pro and features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Both of these handsets are targeting a Q3 launch.

Motorola Announces the TITANIUM and the PHOTON 4G For Sprint, Triumph Hitting Virgin

Sprint held a press event today and they announced a few new devices that you can feast your eyes on. The first one is the Motorola TITANIUM which runs the Android OS along with a QWERTY keyboard. The handset itself features a 5MP camera, WiFi b/g / Bluetooth 2.1 support, a microSD card slot (2GB card included), and even Military Spec 810G ruggedness. It's definitely not packing a great spec sheet but it'll be pretty good as a quick messaging phone.

That's not all though. They also announced the PHOTON 4G which may be a better choice for you if you're into great specs. The smartphone features a 4.3-inch qHD display, a Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, an 8MP camera, a front-facing camera, an HDMI output, a kickstand, and Android 2.3 with the Blur UI. Yes, it's sporting the 4G tag so it'll have WiMAX capabilities if that's your thing.

One more device. Virgin Mobile announced that they'll be launching the Motorola Triumph in the near future as well. This one features a 4.1-inch display, 512MB of RAM, aGPS, 2GB of storage, a Qualcomm MSM8655 CPU, WiFi support, an HDMI output, and Android 2.2. The price and release date for this one is still unknown for now.

Samsung Infuse 4G Hitting Rogers Canada Soon

This shouldn't be a surprise but it's good to reconfirm things. The Samsung Infuse 4G will be hitting Rogers in Canada sometime in the future. The smartphone features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED+ display, a 1.2GHz CPU, an 8MP camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, HSPA+ support, WiFi / Bluetooth, and Android 2.3 with the Touchwiz UI. This is a pretty good smartphone but it better launch soon because the Galaxy S II should be available in Canada in a few months.

Dell Streak 10 Pro Hitting China This Summer, US In 2012

Dell intends to launch their "Honeycomb" powered Streak 10 Pro tablet soon but it's not going to be in the US initially. The tablet is headed to China this Summer with a US launch projected for 2012 which will be way too late. The tablet features a 1,280 x 800 10-inch display, dual caemras, an SD card slot, a 12mm thin body, a Tegra 2 CPU, and HDMI / Ethernet / USB ports. Oh well, looks like you'll have to settle for quad-core Tegra tablets by the time this one launches in the US.

Koodo Mobile Launching the iPhone 4 Soon

It looks like Koodo Mobile in Canada will really be launching the iPhone 4 sometime in the future. The smartphone will be available in 16GB and 32GB models, and in black and white. Pricing is unknown for this one right now but it could be $500 on the Tab or $160 on a 3-year contract which would actually be pretty darn good. Plans, though, seem to be expensive at $65 and $80 monthly.

HP Touchpad Officially Hitting the US On July 1st, Canada In Mid-July

Today HP finally announced exactly when their webOS-based Touchpad tablet will be available. Mark it on your calendar, it'll be July 1st! The tablet features a 9.7-inch display, a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon CPU, NFC, a front-facing camera, WiFi-only, and 16GB / 32GB models. As expected, they'll be priced at $499 and $599 and pre-orders for it will start on June 19th.

Update: Mobile Syrup has mentioned that this tablet will be available in mid-July (possibly the 15th) in Canada which is great news for us. The tablet will be available for $519.99 and $619.99 for the 16GB and 32GB models, respectively.

Sony S1 Tablet Hits the FCC, Good Enough For AT&T

It looks like Sony's other tablet, the S1, has just been spotted at the FCC. The tablet sports WCDMA bands II and V connectivity which is perfect for AT&T in the US and the major carriers in Canada. You may remember that the tablet itself features a 9.4-inch touchscreen display, WiFi 802.11n support, and Android "Honeycomb". Sadly, this one won't actually launch until the Fall so you'll still have to wait a while for it. Check it out at the FCC.

HP Touchpad Could Launch On June 22nd For $499

A new rumour is making the rounds about the potential launch details of the HP Touchpad. Said webOS tablet could actually be available on June 22nd for $499 and $599 in 16GB and 32GB models, respectively. This is just an estimate right now so the date may be a little bit off. The tablet actually puts up a pretty good fight against the iPad 2 and the Android tablets on the market so you might want to give it a look.
