Android Donut is Not Android 2.0 -- No Multitouch Support

Labels: , ,

Here's some weird news, an Android representative has just mentioned that "Donut" is not Android 2.0. He also went on to mention that Donut will not have multitouch - like we were all expecting. If you remember, Cupcake was scheduled to be Android 1.5, but it didn't end up being 1.5; it ended up leading to 1.5 though. What I'm trying to say is that Donut could lead to 2.0 - similar to how Cupcake led to 1.5. Understand? So, as of right now, we don't know what version Donut will be, but let's hope that somewhere down the line Android gets multitouch.

Palm Pre Now Available on Best Buy For $99 -- Actually a Mistake

Labels: , ,

Yes, the Palm Pre is now available at Best Buy for just $99.99 USD on a 2-year contract. So, if you went to go get your Palm Pre at the re-launch 3 days ago, you basically got screwed. Sorry peeps.

Update: According to Phone Arena, this $99 USD pricing for the Palm Pre is a mistake and they are trying to "hastily" fix it. Looks like it was too good to be true, unless you already managed to scoop one up.

Asus Eee PC 1004DN Netbook Now Available in Taiwan, Comes With Built-in Optical Drive

Labels: , , , , ,

I've actually only talked about this netbook one other time. The Asus Eee PC 1004DN has: a 10.2-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, 1GB of RAM, an Intel Atom 1.66GHz N280 CPU with X4500M graphics, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, an ExpressCard slot, a 120GB HDD, and a 6-cell battery. What makes this different from other netbooks is that it has an optical drive. Unfortunately, the battery is only good enough to last about 5.5-hours of real-time, according to Liliputing. It's now available in Taiwan for NT$19,988 ($609 USD).
