It looks like we've just got confirmation about the CPU speed of the Snapdragon in the Acer Liquid (A1) handset. Well, it'll be running Android 1.6 and will actually sport an underclocked 768MHz CPU. This definitely sucks, but if you're interested in the rest of the specs you can check out the picture above. I won't reiterate it.

As you already know, the HTC Tattoo will be a cheap handset supposedly running the Donut build of Android - 1.6. Well, it has just passed the FCC with Bluetooth / WiFi support, and quad-band GSM/EDGE with HSDPA 900 / 2100 MHz connectivity. Check out the official FCC listing here.

According to UK's full spec sheet of the HTC Tattoo it'll be shipping with Android 1.6 aka "Donut." This handset actually already has its own listing on Vodafone UK's website, so check it out. It'll be rocking the Sense UI, Android 1.6, and it'll also have an FM radio. That's pretty sweet news for a low-priced Android handset. It's set to touch down early next month (October).

If you remember, a Cupcake arrived beside the Android back in April - signalling that it was on the way. Well, Android has a new friend and it's the Donut - a nice chocolate one with sprinkles. This doesn't really mean much, but the launch should be coming in the upcoming months.

Here's some weird news, an Android representative has just mentioned that "Donut" is not Android 2.0. He also went on to mention that Donut will not have multitouch - like we were all expecting. If you remember, Cupcake was scheduled to be Android 1.5, but it didn't end up being 1.5; it ended up leading to 1.5 though. What I'm trying to say is that Donut could lead to 2.0 - similar to how Cupcake led to 1.5. Understand? So, as of right now, we don't know what version Donut will be, but let's hope that somewhere down the line Android gets multitouch.

That's right! After confirming some of the perks that will come with Android 2.0 yesterday, a very buggy build has just been made available for the T-Mobile G1. We still don't know when it will be available, but if you're bored you can test it out now. Check Donut out here; the G1 port is here.

Mmm, sprinkly donuts. Android 2.0 aka Donut could be hitting Android devices by the end of the Summer, if earlier rumours stay true. What also makes this interesting is that Sony Ericsson's first Android device - quite possibly the XPERIA X3 - will be utilizing it. So what could be in store with Android 2.0 Donut? Multitouch! Yes, finally Android will have multitouch support, which is amazing. Performance tweaking definitely means that they're touching Android up to run a bit smoother and faster. I can't wait, this news pushes the XPERIA X3 to the top of my phone list, for sure.

Phone Arena think so. "Donut" is going to be Android 2.0 and apparently some software developers are already preparing their apps to run on the Android 2.0 SDK. So, could "Donut" be available before the Summer ends? It's possible. It could be around the same date the HTC Hero gets released to the US aka probably AT&T. Like the Google Chrome OS - only time will well.

Here's another supposed build of the upcoming "Donut" build for Android. It's not confirmed yet, so it could be an HTC skin, according to Engadget. Take a look at the video for yourself. It looks like a good home screen with its widgets and all. It reminds me of the Nokia N97, but not really.
