Sony Ericsson Satio Will Be Able to Play PlayStation Games

Labels: , , , , ,

Remember the Sony Ericsson Idou Satio? Well, turns out that - like the Sony Ericsson Aino - it will also be able to sync with your PS3 and its media. But, the Satio takes it over the top by also being able to play PlayStation games, which is pretty magnificent. "The only games mentioned here were Asphalt Road and an unspecified Prince of Persia game, both of which will be in ninth High Definition (nHD) format." As of right now though, it looks like the Satio's content library only involves Asia Pacific consumers only, so it could be exclusive to those people. But, the Satio is on the worldwide Sony Ericsson website, so it could get released worldwide, but we'll just have to wait and see. The Satio is expected to hit the shelves this Fall, so enjoy this video below of the Satio and its gaming capabilities.

Rogers Now Selling the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic for $199

Labels: , , ,

We heard word about this in early June, but the release date wasn't specified. Well, Rogers is now selling the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic for $199.99 CAD on a 3-year contract. The 5800 XpressMusic has been around for a while, so I'll recap its specs for you. It has: a 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen display with a 640 x 360 resolution, a 3.2MP AF camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and a dual-LED flash, 3.6Mbps HSDPA connectivity, a microSD slot, WiFi, and aGPS. With your purchase of the 5800, you will also find an 8GB microSD card in the box. I'd favour the HTC Magic over this handset, but just in case you're interested you can now scoop one up in Canada for $199.

Final Fantasy XIV Beta Could Start This September

Labels: ,

According to the latest rumour, the beta for Final Fantasy XIV may start as early as this September. It's scheduled for a 2010 release, so the beta could be pretty long, especially since it should be available after Final Fantasy XIII hits North America. The team is expecting the beta to be longer than Final Fantasy XI's and that lasted 4 months. The Final Fantasy XIV dev team has also mentioned that they have been working on this game for five years, so that means it should be good, right? Most of the Final Fantasy XI team will be working on XIV as well and - unfortunately - I disliked Final Fantasy XI. We'll just have to see what happens in the future. It does look beautiful though, which is what you should expect from a Final Fantasy game. Enjoy the video below!

Black Nintendo Wii In the Wild, Blue Wiimote Too!

Labels: , ,

Here's a picture of the black Nintendo Wii and friends in the wild. The black Wiimote has a sleeve around it, so that's why it's not as glossy as the controller. I like the look of the gloss finish on the Wii and controllers, but it'll be overcome by the smudge marks after a day of use. As a bonus, look below for the blue model of the Wiimote and nunchuck as well.

Asus Eee PC 1005HA Now Available For Pre-Orders

Labels: , , , , ,

Yes, that's right! The Asus Eee PC 1005HA is now available for pre-orders on Amazon for $350 USD. Amazon has not mentioned when this netbook will ship, but it shouldn't be too far away. Just in case you forgot, the 1005HA has: a 10.1-inch display, an Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 CPU, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB HDD, Windows XP, and a user-replaceable battery that's said to last 8.5-hours. Pre-order your own 1005HA netbook here.

Update: As of June 24, Newegg is also taking pre-orders for this netbook here. It's expected to ship on July 1st, so it's only a week away. The let down is that it will be a bit more expensive than the Amazon pre-order that I talked about above (not true anymore, if you check below). This will actually cost you $390 USD. I guess Amazon is the better option here. Don't forget that this netbook has a whopping 9 hours of battery life - according to Laptop Mag's review - which is good enough to claim the top spot in that category. This update was courtesy of Engadget.

Update (#2): The old Amazon link for the Asus Eee PC 1005HA is not working anymore. The new listing for the 1005HA on Amazon has a price tag of $390 USD as well. Looks like you can just pick and choose whichever website you like better now. Amazon has this netbook in black and blue options. Check the blue model out here and the black model here.

Samsung Jet Gets 2 Million Pre-Orders

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Samsung has just announced that the Samsung Jet has received 2 million pre-orders. This is amazing, seeing how this morning Apple just announced that it had sold 1 million iPhone 3GS's. Keep in mind though, that the Jet was launched to 50 countries, while the iPhone 3GS was only available in 8 countries. Anyways, this is the first time Samsung broke the 2 million mark with one of their handsets. Their next closest handset was the UltraTOUCH which nabbed 1.8 million pre-orders. Their rival, LG, sold 2 million LG Arena's after a month, so Samsung looks like it may have the upper-hand here. The Samsung Jet's best specs are its: 800 MHz CPU, 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution, and a 5MP camera that's also able to record video at 480p.

Definitely a pretty amazing phone, for the time being. Congratulations Samsung!

Is This The T-Mobile Morrison, Motorola's First Android Handset?

Labels: , , , ,

This handset looks a lot like the "Morrison" that is shown on the T-Mobile table we saw back in late May. Could this really be it? These spy pics were recently taken and just leaked online. This QWERTY-packed handset - if real - will run the Android OS, but specific specifications have not been outlined. There is a T-Mobile branding on the screen, just in case you never looked at it close enough. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard is accompanied with a d-pad on the left side - somewhat similar to the Nokia N97's styling. We'll just have to wait and see what brews up in the future about Mr. Morrison over here.

Toshiba TG01 Now Available In Japan; Working On An Android Handset?

Labels: , , , , , , ,

The Toshiba TG01 is now available in Japan as the NTT DoCoMo T-01A. It's the exact model that we all know about: 4.1-inch WVGA (800 x 480) resistive touchscreen display, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 3.2MP camera, HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, and WinMo 6.1 covered up with Toshiba's custom UI. It's still under 1cm thick, so don't worry.

According to DigiTimes, Toshiba is working on their very first Android handset. Toshiba joined the OHA (Open Handset Alliance) back in December 2008, so it could be a possibility. Any details on the handset have not been disclosed. This could mean that the Android OS could be accompanied with the speedy 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, which would make the handset run extremely fast. I'm guessing that this could be Android's step into the mobile gaming world - similar to the iPhone - especially because the CPU could have upgraded capabilities before it gets released. On a side note, the source also mentioned that Sharp and Asus are also planning on making their own Android handsets as well.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G Making Its Way To America This August For $200

Labels: , , ,

The T-Mobile myTouch 3G is now officially landing in the US of A. It's already available in Canada and other parts of the world as the HTC Magic and I'm quite surprised that Americans still have to wait around for their next Android handset. The pre-orders for this phone will start on July 8th and it will be available in early August. T-Mobile USA will be selling this phone for $199 USD on a 2-year contract.

The myTouch 3G has: a 3.2MP AF camera, a microSD card slot with a 4GB card in the box, a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, WiFi, GPS, quad-band EDGE, UMTS / HSDPA, Microsoft Exchange Support, and will obviously run on Android. The T-Mobile myTouch 3G is rumoured to be available in 3 colour options: white, black, and a "distinctive merlot" which is the red model on this box.
