O2 UK and Ireland Release the Palm Pre For Free!
Today's the day! O2 has just released the Palm Pre overseas in the UK - and last we heard the demand for this handset over there were more than that of the iPhone. Even though you're probably too late at this point, the first 10 people that show up to buy a Pre at your local O2 store will receive a free Touchstone charger. O2 is now selling the Pre (here) for free on an 18-month contract where you'll have to pay at least £44.05 ($72 USD) and for free on a 2-year contract for as low as £34.26 ($59 USD) monthly.
O2 Ireland (here) is also offering the Pre, but the prices are higher and you only get 1GB of data. They are offering it for free on a lengthy plan or prepaid for €419 ($627 USD).

iPhone 3GS Also Coming To Vodafone in Early 2010
It looks like the iPhone 3GS has just hit the Vodafone UK website here. Just like we heard yesterday, Orange will also be offering the iPhone since O2's exclusivity is about to end. It looks like Europe will be the first place where we'll see an iPhone price war. We don't know exact pricing models for Vodafone's iPhone, but as you can see you expect it in early 2010 in Ireland and the UK.

"In the next few weeks" RIM will be launching their BlackBerry App World to more countries and will also be featured in more languages. Countries include: Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Luxembourg, Portugal, Belgium, and the Netherlands; Languages include: French, Italian, Spanish, German, etc. "RIM plans on adding new software categories to make finding what you're looking for just a little bit easier and will be adding support for URLs, which -- when opened from your BlackBerry's browser -- will take you straight to an app's page in App World." Like I said, look out for it "in the next few weeks." Slowly, but surely, RIM will hit every country with their App World.

Nokia N97 Mini Launching Later This Year?
Here's a big rumour. Someone on a Vodafone forum has just mentioned that Vodafone Ireland will be launching a "Nokia N97 Mini" later this year. It will be "competitively priced" and will "appeal to a wider segment of customers." If true, we could see, obviously, a smaller version of the Nokia N97, since the N97 is a pretty big device. This hasn't been confirmed yet, so don't get your hopes up. I'm not excited though, since the N97 is no longer the phone at the top of my list.
