Another BlackBerry from RIM has just poked out and it's the Curve 8980. Unfortunately, this one isn't headed to North America since it's on its way to China Mobile. Don't get confused with the naming though because this one is actually a bit better than the Curve 3G (9300). Besides just having EDGE connectivity, it has a 3.2MP camera, WiFi support, 256MB of RAM, GPS support, a QWERTY keyboard, an optical trackpad, and a 360 x 480 resolution display. The release date and pricing is still unknown so we'll have to wait around for that crucial information.

Sony Ericsson has just announced that they'll be launching another handset in China. Dubbed the A8i OPhone, this smartphone will be packing a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a 5MP camera, CMMB mobile TV support, TD-SCDMA connectivity, and the OPhone 2.0 OS based on Android. The size is right in between the 4.1-inch XPERIA X10 and the 3-inch XPERIA X8. The price hasn't been mentioned yet but it should be available in "Shiny White" and "Titanium Black". These will be available sometime in October, which is just over a month away.

Another Dell smartphone has just been spotted and it's going to be hitting China in the future. The details are unknown right now but the picture does tell us that there's a touchscreen display (unknown size), a 5MP camera on the back, and a front-facing camera. Sadly, this handset, dubbed the Mini 3v, will be a China-exclusive (at least the model you above will be) since it's sporting TD-SCDMA connectivity for China Mobile along with WAPI (instead of WiFi) and a TV tuner. I'm going to assume it'll be running Android because what else could it be running?

Two more Samsung phones have just been spotted online and it's the Samsung S5530 (above) and the C5530 (below). The S5530 should be available in China and Europe soon. It's a slider handset that packs an FM radio, Bluetooth support, a QVGA display, 3G connectivity, a 3.2MP camera, 60MB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. The other handset, the C5530, could be a part of their growing Corby line-up. This handset packs a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an FM radio, a 2MP camera, and TD-SCDMA connectivity so it's headed to China Mobile.

Okay, so it looks like it won't end up being the MT820. Now dubbed the Motorola MT810, this handset is said to be capable of running on China Mobile's TD-SCDMA network and it'll also have WAPI (WiFi for China). It packs a 5MP camera with an LED flash that can record 720p video, stylus support, and the OPhone UI based on Android. The cover is a capacitive touchscreen display while the display underneath is a resistive digitizer. The display is said to be a Parallax 3D display, so that's pretty awesome and we'll have to see exactly how that plays out.

Samsung looks like they're set to launch yet another handset running on the OPhone OS over in China (via China Mobile). It's pictured above and it looks like a variant to the Omnia II -- dubbed the GT-I7680. Anyways, this handset reportedly features a 3.5-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display (480 x 800), a 5MP camera, an 800MHz CPU, GPS / WiFi support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the Android OS - obviously. The price and release date is still TBA, unfortunately.

Finally, Nokia has just announced the Nokia X5 (above) and the C5 (below). They're both intended for a release on China Mobile with TD-SCDMA connectivity. The X5 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 5MP camera with a dual-LED flash, a front-facing VGA camera, GPS / Stereo Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and access to the Mobile Market-Ovi Store. The C5 is pictured below and it packs a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 5MP camera, a front-facing VGA camera, a microSD card slot, Stereo Bluetooth support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and access to the Mobile Market-Ovi Store.

Both handsets sport similar spec sheets and should be available before this quarter ends. They shouldn't be all that expensive.

Motorola has finally been kind enough to clear all of the Sholes tablet rumours. They have officially announced three new Android handsets and they're all pretty damn amazing. The Motorola XT701 is headed to China Unicom, the Motorola MT710 is headed to China Mobile (possibly on December 28th), and the Motorola XT800 is headed to China Telecom. The specs are pretty damn strong, so you shouldn't be disappointed by anything here. The specs are below, courtesy of Slash Gear. It was just a month ago when we heard about the Nokia 6788. We know that it's headed to China Mobile and it looks like it just passed the FCC. The good news here is that you'll be able to use it in the USA since it has a 1900MHz band, but there's nothing too overwhelming with anything else you'll find. Check out the FCC filing here.

There's not much for me to report here besides the title, but it looks like the Dell Mini 3i will be launching in both Brazil and China fairly soon. They'll be hitting both markets by the end of the year - China's expecting to launch it in the next couple of days. In China it'll be available on China Mobile with no 3G; in Brazil it'll be available on Claro and will feature 3G connectivity - likely WiFi as well.

Like title says, Nokia has just unveiled their first TD-SCDMA 3G handset, the Nokia 6788; China Mobile plans to launch this handset in the the end of December. The Nokia 6788 features: a 2.8-inch QVGA display, a 5MP camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and a dual-LED flash, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, GPS / Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and S60 3rd Edition. Look out for it at the end of this year if you live in China.

A new touchscreen Samsung handset was spotted in Russia recently and it has been revealed to be the i6330. It's likely headed to China via China Mobile first - since it clearly has the China Mobile logo at the top of the handset. Unfortunately, the details on this handset are scarce right now, but we do know that it has: a 3.2MP camera, 3G / TD-SCDMA connectivity, and a design on the back that reminds me of snake skin. The release details haven't been mentioned yet.

The official specs are nothing new. The Philips V808 handset looks like it will have: a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, GPS support, GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, a 1,000 mAh battery, a microSD card slot, and the Android OS. Above and below are some official pictures of this handset that is destined for China - likely China Mobile.

Philips has just gone out and mentioned two new touchscreen handsets, the X806 (above) and the C702 (below) and they've also announced more specs of their Android-based handset, the V900.

The Philips X806 looks like it could be a part of their Xenium line-up and it features: a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with a 240 x 400 resolution, a 5MP camera, quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity, Bluetooth support, an FM radio, 47MB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. The launch details haven't been mentioned yet.

What you see below is the Philips C702 which has: a 3.4-inch touchscreen QVGA display, GPS support, a 1.3MP camera, 70MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and Bluetooth support. This handset looks like it will be launched on China Telecom for an undisclosed price.

In addition to all of this news, the Philips V900 handset that we saw back in August running Android looks like it will have: a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, a 3MP camera, GPS / WiFi support, 256MB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot. This handset will launch on China Mobile, but the price hasn't been mentioned yet.

LG looks like it is going to release their first Android phone in China before anywhere else. The LG GW880 is headed to China Mobile later this year and will probably run an OPhone customized build of Google's Android. Other specs of the LG GW880 include: a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5MP camera, 256MB of RAM, GPS support, and no WiFi support.

China Mobile has just announced another Windows Mobile handset that they will release. They're calling it - possibly just a codename - the HTC Qilin, which looks surprisingly like the HTC Whitestone that we know and love. It almost looks the same, but the specs are almost identical. The HTC Qilin is reportedly going to have: a 3.6-inch touchscreen WVGA display with a 480 x 800 resolution, a 5MP AF camera, 512MB of ROM, 256MB of RAM, a TI OMAP 3430 600MHz CPU, GSM/EDGE/GPRS TD-SCDMA connectivity, WiFi 802.11 g, and aGPS support.

I don't know what's with the WiFi support, since it is being launch in China. This handset will be running Windows Mobile 6.5 and will be available by the end of the year - possibly a December launch.
