Lenovo Unveils Three New Android Devices, Set For China

Labels: , , , , ,

Lenovo has just unveiled three new devices that are, obviously, all running the Android OS. The first one is a 5-inch tabletphone that packs a WVGA LTPS display along with a dual-core Qualcomm 1.2 GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP camera, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, a 1,680mAh battery, microUSB / microHDMI ports, HSPA+, and Android "Gingerbread". This one's being called the LePad S2005 and is set for China Unicom soon.

That's not all though. They've also announced the LePad S2007 and S2010 which are 7 and 10-inch tablets, respectively. They both pack a Qualcomm dual-core 1.5GHz CPU, a 1,280 x 800 resolution display, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP camera, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, dual-mode 3G, and Android 3.2 "Honeycomb". Keep in mind that all three of these devices are set to hit China before the end of this year so you can look out for them pretty soon.

Lenovo's CEO Says the Next LePad Will Be Available In September / October

Labels: , , , ,

Up above is a photo of Lenovo's CEO and he's grinning because their company has another tablet up their sleeve before the end of the year. He mentioned that the successor to their Android powered LePad will reportedly be available in September / October of this year. Of course, specs haven't been mentioned yet so we'll have just have to wait around for it. Hopefully, the spec sheet includes a dual-core CPU, a thinner / lighter body, and, of course, at least "Honeycomb".

Lenovo Skylight Tablet Hits the FCC, LePad Could Be Set For a Name Change

Labels: , , , ,

A tablet that we've seen before has just hit the FCC and it's reportedly the Lenovo LePad. It looks exactly like said tablet but it may actually get its name changed to the Skylight since that's what the user manual says. Specs are exactly what the LePad are when it was announced: a 10.1-inch display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, a Snapdragon 8650A CPU, 1GB of RAM, a two-cell battery, SRS speakers, and, sadly, just Android 2.2. The release date for this tablet is still unknown but we're really hoping that they upgrade that OS. Check it out at the FCC.

Lenovo LePad To Hit China In March, Worldwide In June

Labels: , , , , ,

Announced a long time ago we have the Lenovo LePad which has been raised from the dead. Word is that the tablet will finally be shipping in March in China and then it'll go global in June of this year. Last time we saw the tablet, it was running Android 2.2 with the "LeOS" skin along with a 1.3GHz Qualcomm CPU and a 10.1-inch display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution. Specs for launch aren't confirmed yet but we're really hoping that it'll launch with Honeycomb. No skinning needed!

Lenovo Reveals Their Android-Based LePad Tablet, With Docking Station

Labels: , , , , , ,

Lenovo has finally revealed their Android-based tablet, dubbed the LePad. This tablet reportedly features a 10.1-inch display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, a 320GB HDD, a front-facing webcam, WCDMA / EVDO connectivity, 1GB of RAM, a 1.3GHz Snapdragon CPU, and version 2.2 of the OS. Of course, the company decided to put their own customized UI over top of it and they call it LeOS. This tablet will reportedly cost $520 when it hits the market which is actually a bit expensive for the device.

This device may actually remind you of the U1 Hybrid concept from Lenovo because you'll be able to dock it to make it act more like a netbook. If you attach the tablet to the base then you'll be running on an Intel Core i5-540UM ULV 1.2GHz CPU (optional Core i7 CPU) along with 2GB of RAM. The Hybrid base will reportedly cost $1,300 which is absolutely ridiculous. Note that these prices are set for China when they'll be available in the coming months. There's no word on a North American release right now so prices may be different. Additionally, Lenovo has mentioned that this may not hit the US until it's running Android 3.0 "Honeycomb" so we could be waiting for quite a long time.

Android-Based Lenovo LePad Tablet Hitting the US In 2011

Labels: , , , , , ,

The Wall Street Journal has something to say about a certain Lenovo tablet that may be hitting the market in a few months. They have just reported that the company's Android-based LePad tablet will be hitting the US market sometime in 2011. Of course, if this is the case you can expect it to run on Honeycomb, which is expected to be version 3.0 of Android that will be "optimized for tablets".

Lenovo Launching the Android-Based LePad Tablet and Hybrid IdeaPad U1 In January

Labels: , , , , , ,

In January 2011, Lenovo will try to start the year off with a bang. The company has announced that their Android-based LePad tablet and their hybrid IdeaPad U1 netbook / tablet will be available during that time frame. That means we'll definitely be seeing a near-final build of both devices at CES 2011, which is right after New Year's. Unfortunately, the U1 might still be packing an Atom CPU and both devices will only be available in China initially. Who knows if any other region will be getting their shot at this.

Labels: , , , ,

Lenovo has just made a promise that they better keep. Apparently, the company has just mentioned that their LePad Android-based tablet will be available before the end of this year. The LePad's specs haven't been mentioned yet and I don't think we've seen it before either. The picture above is the IdeaPad U1 hybrid which, sadly, won't be hitting the market.
